Is there even any point in struggling anymore?

So I would consider myself a fairly decent survivor, but I have recently found that it is almost impossible for you to break out of a struggle anymore, I run a fairly decent build, boil over, dead hard, tenacity, and flip-flop. I hit the great skill checks on boil roughly 95-100% of the time, try to get myself as far from a hook as possible when in a chase and also try to get up high for the bonus 33% from the drop, I also run oaks (when I have them) to distance the hooks, and I have been getting hooked almost everytime with or without the killer running iron grasp, is it something I'm doing wrong or my team mates, or is anyone else experiencing this also?

Get yourself boil over 9/10 grabs it won't do anything but o that 10th one.. nothing more funny then watching a killer unable to get through a door

Wiggling without teammate intervention or extraordinary circumstances is to limit killer options, not to actually escape.

Nope, none at all. You can stop running boil over now.

(But really, as everyone's said, the point isn't to have reliable escapes, running full wiggle builds is a meme play, not practical. Boil Over is mostly just stupid annoying to deal with.)

I totally understand. I hit 21 great skill wiggle checks and still got hooked. 21. 21 great checks. That's a long walk to a hook to not wiggle off. It should be rare but not impossible.

Perhaps that was the case when every hook that wasn't a basement hook could be perma-saboed. Thats not the case anymore and killer behaviours show that; namely, unless you go down near the basement hardly any killers bother to hook you down there anymore. Even then, they'll often even choose the inevitable exterior shack hook as it's quicker for them to get hunting again.

I've noticed a hell of a lot more killers managing to get you half way or more across the map to their chosen scourge hook with no issue since this change. Whilst I agree you shouldn't get off every time killers shouldn't be able to take their time and saunter round the map with flagrant disregard of repercussion either.

I’ve not noticed this issue. The issue I’ve noticed is survivors going afk at first down and therefore putting them into the basement is easy.

i can only speak for myself, but boil over and breakdown+deliverance builds are good enough to prevent hooks in corners of the map.

on top of those builds there are hooks that killers would rather not put you on that i have experienced being forced to used due to players struggling.

i have no idea how skilled you are at the game, but if other players can cause me to panic hook then I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to unless it’s your build or perhaps you’ve been facing agitation+iron grasp an irregular amount of times.

IF i want to play a quirky anti body block build i will sometimes run agitation+iron grasp+mad grit+awakened awareness or forced penance. Then i simply find the most defeated player in the game (trust me. Some of you survivors are the biggest of sore losers I’ve ever seen) that goes afk on my should at first down, tunnel chase them till they give up then down them and walk around with them on my shoulder attacking other players dumb enough to body block for an afk player.

    that’s been my experience.

Boil over is the perk that there is no "progression", its either "work" or "dont". 10 times getting hooked at 99% wiggle is not as valuable than 1 time success while other 9 times making 0% wiggle.

Boil over is the perk that making no effort, just slap in and press Space. Of course that 1 perk along should not let you get out of wiggle more than 1/10 of the time. There should be at least a teammate with Breakout + Sabo to ensure a hook denial.

3.68 meters. That's exactly how much farther the killer can get you assuming no perks effecting it on either side and you hit every single great skill check before they changed it. Not enough to make any substantial difference in which hook you are getting to the vast majority of the time.

That's the thing - it doesn't even prevent that from nearly half a map away.

it does. if the killer isn't running grip strength perks.

I had 90% flip flop and was around 10 metres from the basement stairs. The killer still managed to hook me despite not missing a wiggle check.

Think its only useful for checking killers that are going for long distance hook placements such as tactical or Pain Res
