So is spirit very easy?

Ive been spending the time to learn her as a console player. Ive gotten pretty good at her and can go against good survivors pretty easily. But a good bit of the time im told "wow, congrats, you have good headphones" or stuff like that. Kinda makes me feel like the time spent to learn her is kinda insulted and pushed down to that. Do you think she's very easy? Like i know shes no nurse but she was fairly difficult when i started.

Sounds like they’re mainly just salty going against her, nothing against you personally or your skill with her. I can’t blame them though without being a hypocrite, because I also get pretty salty playing against Nurse or Trickster lol.

  • Yes, she's very easy.

I would say Spirit is in the top 8 easiest to win as, when going against average Survivors.

Blight, Pinhead, Spirit, Leatherface, Wesker, Clown, Pyramid Head, and Artist seem to be the easiest to get wins with out of the cast from my testing. Many of these 8 you really don't even have to know that much about the power. You can play most of these as an amateur and more often than not succeed.

Not really, Spirit is one of the most skill-requiring killers to play as in dbd. So don’t get discouraged if people seem to attribute your wins with a certain killer to something. If she’s a killer you enjoy playing as, keep on doing it!

I wouldn't say Spirit requires as much skill as a Hillbilly. Spirit is often who I recommend to friends just starting Killer as you can learn her basics much faster and you don't bang your head into a wall as much trying to get the power to pay off, similar to someone like Hillbilly. More often than not you can just use her power on a YOLO and you find someone.

It really isn't too skill intensive to play her at a decent level. I think many people overestimate how hard she is to play. She is much easier to chase with in comparison to any other Killer without a teleport honestly. I agree at the higher level of course, but against "average" Survivors (which is the majority of the DBD community), you can play Spirit pretty badly and still come out on top simply due to how much ground she gains when in her power.

I mean, no killer is that hard in this game to learn at the very least. Nurse has the highest skill floor but even she wasn't that hard to learn. Compared to blight though spirit doesn't have a skill ceiling.

Best way to learn Billy is play Oni first since both rushes are similar but Oni dosnt cancel charge if he hits something. Good way to learn pathing and where the power works and dosnt....

Spirits great. They all agreed after picking her is the funny thing. Said she was easy to learn and get kills with. We are of course speaking about "AVERAGE" Survivors per my original post. Sounds like an issue on your side if you had trouble with her early on against mediocre people.

I never had an issue with Spirit but that’s because I’ve mained her ever since her release back in 2018, I had prior experience with the general killer gameplay, and I played release Spirit when barely anyone knew how to counter her. So I don’t know why you’re making assumptions…

Nowadays, picking Spirit as your FIRST killer main when everyone knows her gameplay and without prior knowledge and experience when playing killer seems like a disaster. A simple killer like Wraith where the survivors can’t stealth you and you still learn the basic killer gameplay seems like the way to go. Spirit thrives when you already know how to play a basic killer and have that foundation :/

Coincidentally there has been an uprise of spirits right when a bug giving her insane advantage showed up - she's basically pre nerf spirit again

In the past few days I've faced more than 10 spirits when usually shed appear once every few days. It gets boring you know?

Can't really blame people for being salty. Can't they just kill switch her already?

Yeah i played her before that. Im sorry if im making it difficult on survivors. I just enjoy legitimately playing her. Even when she had that drop off of players.

She takes more skill than m1 killers which is already most the killer roster, so that makes her more skill requiring than people like to admit. People just hate spirit and like to always talk bad about her as well as making excuses for why they got outplayed. She does require a good amount of skill.

She may thrive after that, but she is still piss easy to get 1st game wins with.

I agree with the Billy statement specifically. I really feel like people understate how difficult Billy is to learn and people often saying Huntress is the hardest but I learn more towards Billy being the hardest Killer in the game just from how punishing they are.

You miss with Huntress, you have 4 other shots left (even more with addons). You miss a swing with Blight, youll have your power back in 10 seconds (or less with addons). You miss with Spirit, well you still gained a lot of distance on the Survivors.

However if you miss with Billy, prepare for a really long cooldown (even with addons), combine this with the fact that you can cancel your chainsaw and still hit an object because the collision zone still exists AFTER canceling (thus making you go through two cooldown periods). Billy is an absolute mess (and I still adore him).

She’s considered “hard” by the system.

so in theory she’s easier than nurse, hag, twins, blight, cenobite, executioner, and oni.

and the other killers are either as hard or easier than spirit.

but that’s only if you agree with the system.

I can only say that if you have hearing difficulties, she's fairly difficult to pick up. I end up using her power for map traversal more than anything. Aside from that, I have to mostly fall back on my experience to guess where I think a survivor is going to be and the occasional visual cue from grass moving and such.

Spirit is an amazing killer that a lack the ability to play well. I also don’t use headphones 😂

glad you’re doing so well with her. Not everyone does.

I mean she's not the easiest and she's not the hardest but she sure brings the salt out of people.

You need to mindgame and learn to rely on your hearing more with spirit than with other killers, but hillbilly will always be hardest killer in my eyes.

Still love my Rin girl <3

Spirit is hard for me because I can only hear from one ear (making audio tracking challenging at best), but I think generally she's probably on the higher end of average in terms of difficulty.

To really dominate with her you need to be able to track sounds, and get used to not using the tracking cues you usually use with other killers. So if you're used to using other killers, she might feel unwieldy. But if you main her and get her tracking down (and yes, have a nice pair of headphones), she is wicked strong.

But since her rework, the the survs have a lot more info, and coin flip standoffs and catching survs totally unaware aren't a thing anymore. SO not as strong or easy as she used to be.

People will still try to diminish wins with her based on outdate reputation, but even before it was mostly salt, and it definitely is now.

But that's DBD, if you lose, make it about how the other other party did something wrong, or had an unfair advantage.

Her only difficulty is actually gettin that first hit since she is 110 ,once you're injured you pretty much dead vs a decent spirit unless you're in some good tile / pallet smth

Survivor noises use sound occlusion too. Do you think survivors should be kill switched? Or is sound occlusion only a problem when it hurts survivors, but it's ok when it hurts killers?

I don’t find her easy to play as. I always seem to lose survivors while phasing. I don’t play her a lot, so I think it’s a matter of just not having a lot of practice. In my last game with her I paid attention to moving grass along with the footstep sounds and that helped a lot. Seems to be a combination of using your senses as well as trying to predict where the survivor is going to go that is the trick to playing her well.

You hit it right on the nose. I also understand if certain characters are hard for some and not others, but literally the handful of people I had try Spirit early said they loved how much easier she was than when they played Trapper and Hillbilly. They also didn't like the slow cloak/uncloak of Wraith, so when I thought of how fast Wraith's movement is, I told them, "Okay, try out Spirit." They loved her. She is a great Killer to start with. You really don't need headphones and all that jazz to track with her. That is an over assumption that many people have.

Starting with Hillbilly and wanting to use the power and have fun though is extremely rough as more often than not you won't "easily" get used to the "acquired taste" his chainsaw rush has.

Easy for how good she is.
