Tome 2 Avoiding a basic attack with dead hard

I tried doing this challenge in Tome 2 and it would not work cause you can't avoid an attack anymore with deadhard. So each time I get hit with deadhard it would let me finish the challenge.

    I just attempted the Dead Hardy challenge, too! I got hit while using Dead Hard twice, it didn't complete the challenge. The killer whiffed while I used Dead Hard during a chase, and that didn't complete the challenge, either. The challenge is broken. If it is able to be completed, the requirements are unreasonable. Dead Hard was changed: the challenge needs to be changed.

    I'm having the exact same issue with this it needs fixing as the challenge is impossible in its current state
