I’m Just Tired of Being Tired
Dear BHVR,
Im tired of the excessive camping and tunneling. I get on this game to decompress and find myself watching the game from the hook at 5 gens while being camped by the killer. I get that this “strategy” has existed in the game since the dawn of time, but it’s gotten to the point where it’s happening in at least 80% of my games. Even when I get unhooked, I find myself being tunneled out from the start. Base kit BT? Killers still tunnel. Off the Record buffed? They still tunnel through it. DS? Same thing. To be clear, I’m not talking about killers that camp at end game or tunnel mid/end game, but killers that make it their mission to do so from the start. I still don’t understand why more hasn’t been done to prevent this. If killers want to play this way, they should be heavily penalized for doing so. I went from playing nearly everyday to maybe once a week. I just got back on after taking a hiatus and out of the 5 games I’ve played, this happened 3 times, so I hopped off. I feel this is killing the experience out there for many like myself. Not enjoyable and probably won’t be coming back.

You can't win vs good survivors without tunneling, the gen speeds are simply too fast with 4 survivors. You need to take out 1 as soon as possible. Or you lose.
Exception if you mastered an S+ tier killer, like Nurse or Blight.
Otherwise you must tunnel or camp to win

Yes but you're talking as if every game you faced a comp team or a spicy swf. In these cases it is necessary, in the others absolutely not.

That’s exactly my point, not every game is against a 10,000 hour comp SWF, but yet killers seem to think every public match is a DBD Grand Finals. It’s just not fun plainly put.

To be fair good enough to require tunneling is much lower than comp or spicy swf groups so that’s a bit of a strawman. People aren’t saying they’re always going against comp or spicy swf groups, just very good swf groups that understand gen efficiency.

Killer can’t really tell if they’re going against a swf unless the swf makes it obvious (Steam profiles/ ttv/matching names etc)
Killers also can’t tell if they’re going against a super cracked squad or a chill team but past experience has conditioned some players to assume the worse and play at their best.
You and your team may be chill, but the Killer doesn’t know that

Realistically speaking, both camping and tunneling is not a strategy that works from mid-match.
Just think about it, time is a resource, why do killers waste it in hope of opponents might not be a chill people.
Ask bhvr to show SWF and maybe things might change slightly, or maybe not because actually good soloq survivor team do exists.

I think the issue is here, it’s become such a prevalent thing, people will continue to do it until something is done about it. I know Comp players understand and are ok with Camping/Tunneling for obvious reasons but for the other 90%+, it just ruins the experience for a lot of people. Not everyone in here is trying to sweat for their lives. Additionally, not everyone on here cares about “Competitive level DBD.” It’s gotten to the point where low to intermediate experienced Killers do it solely because they know it’s the best way to secure W’s, not to mention, it’s even worse when experienced/highly experienced killers do this as it just makes games even more unbearable. I understand everyone doesn’t have the same mindset but I do believe it ruins the experience for far more than it doesn’t.
