Starting to not care about the DH discussion
Honestly, with more zoning killers that are released that create sure hit scenarios where you just can't interact.
I just start to not care about the DH has no counter argument, a lot of dumb stuff in this game has no counter and we have to deal with it and with people asking for it to get buffed.
Does it suck that not all killers create this problems and some killers get affected by DH way more than others, yes.
There is a ton of dumb BS on both sides that you can't do anything about or have counterplay if you have right conditions.
So, i don't care DH is fine. Never really bothered me as killer and with how new killers are designed seems more healthy than anything when playing survivor.

DH is the least of the problems indeed.
Right now it is practically necessary because in some scenarios it is the only solution available.
As long as they keep releasing more BS killers and don't fix the problems of others, it certainly won't move from my loadout

The skull merchant isn't even that strong though?

Not a good excuse to keep a broken perk in the game that hurts every killer. Yeah, killers like Knight are super boring, I don’t disagree with you there, but they do have counterplay that doesn’t involve DH. It’s a busted perk and it needs to go.

Balance aside it's boring how dead hard still has such a high usage rate. I think distortion is honestly a more powerful perk than dead hard but it still has a very low pick rate so it does not bother me much.

Not really, killers like those create situations where literally you need to have DH or you are downed. There is no in between and its all decided by the map layout allowing you to get to different loop or not.
But honestly i was talking more in general about stuff with no counterplay, but yeah the knight really just sours my perspective even more.
And if bhvr really just want to continue releasing this killers that survivors can't interact with, well DH is something killers have to deal with.
Like a bandaid solution to the "Well i couldn't do anything because i got zoned", well you have DH.
Whatever happens to the perk now, i am not interested

Fair argument, ngl. You'll probably get berated anyway.

Yeah, i was expecting that to xD

So you say that DH has become sort of a crutch, without that you can't win or play anymore? Interesting, people used that same reasoning when they nerfed a powerful certain killer gen kick perk, that, BTW, I am not defending.
But when something becomes such a crutch, maybe you should start playing without it, as you probably are playing outside of your skill- and comfort zone and let MMR sort you out.

Nope, i never said that.
Just saying that both sides have dumb stuff that you just have to play around and don't offer counterplay and new killers seem to show that design even more.
So DH being a counter to those situations is fine by me.
I also wouldn't even consider it a crutch when its so inconsistent thanks to connection issues and servers.
I am fine with SB thank you.

Dead Hard is going to be used so much until bHVR brings it in line with other Survivor Perks.
Dead Hard was on the Summer Perk Rework list and as far as I see the usage and prevalence of Dead Hard HAS NOT CHANGED.
It better be on the Summer Perk Rework list again.

I mean I get that killers like Knight can be unfun to go against, if all they do is just zone you away from loops. But I wouldn't say that correlates too much with DH, as these killers aren't necessarily op. I thnk Nurse and Blight are the best arguments for why DH shouldn't be nerfed, Blight because of his hug tech and op addons.
Also, if ths is because of Skull Merchant, then I am a bit puzzled. She can zone you with the potential to expose survivors, but in the end she still needs to get a hit against the survivor to down them. She definitely has counterplay in chases for sure. If anything, she just has the ability to reduce the amount of hits she needs against survivors to 1, because survivors either get exposed, or run away from the loop that she placed a drone at, and get injured. But in order to down you, she has to down you as an M1 killer.
She definitely won't be op.

I am more talking about the philosophy and things feeling fair or with counterplay. Both sides are filled with uncounterable stuff so i just feel kinda desensitized about the DH being uncounterable argument.
Especially with how new killers are designed. Yes these new killers aren't OP or anything, but these zoning powers that create loose loose situations depending purely on map with no skill for any player (killer or Survivor).
Also, nah. This is not because of the skull merchant, she basically just forces an injury with her power, after that the survivor doesn't care, so definitely not the worst offender with this philosophy, even tho still has that present in her kit
Simply put, if bhvr continues to release killer with powers that guarantee hits with no skill required on both sides, then i don't care if DH stays like this.

Holding W is really the only counter to knight (and artist for that matter)
DH sucks but so do these killers who incentivise boring gameplay
2 -
Because Knight is just poor killer design. Unfortunately I'm not really sure how to fix him without a ground-up rework (and maybe that's just what he needs).
I don't mind Artist as much because she still has more interactivity with her crows. Crows don't matter if she can't hit her shots with them. The best play is usually holding W when you can, but there's still more of an opportunity to juke an Artist's crows than there is with an AI guard and she is more difficult to play.
Knight just has 0 skill expression on either side and he's very boring.

There is more to it then just the Killers being made
DH is a reaction... it offers a third health state...
It causes Killers to stay close waiting for it rather then just swinging

He is obviously talking about knight that killer does not have any counterplay other than wait that he catches u.

Knight has no counterplay well only counterplay is to use dh...

Nurse and blight can be countered without dh at least. But it does feel required because these killers are very fast and can get downs quickly so it buys bit of extra time.

I mean not really. I don't have fun playing against knight due to a lack of skill expression on either side. I don't have fun always having to bait out dh, which isn't really too hard. I dislike both for different reasons. It was funny brushing past survivors while rushing only to turn around and watch them dab and panic for a few months after the rework, but now it's just monotonous again.
Demo players want to shred at max range again, huntress players would rather not go against perma 3rd health states above 10M. You gotta understand why so many people hate this perk.
Kinda funny I just watched A demo shred dh compilation before reading this post.

I mean, i understand why people dislike it. Especially if you play a killer that the perk counters hard like Demo and Huntress like you said.
But i am annoyed how bhvr keeps making killers that are boring and don't offer interaction or skill for either side, basically creating situations where the survivor is useless or the killer is useless because the survivor just went to the other side of the map.
Honestly seeing killer like those that create check mate situations just makes me glad DH is in the game.
Does it suck for everyone else, sure.
But i have accepted that Knight and other dumb BS is in the game and won't change or get buffed. So i don't feel DH being BS is all that different. If the game continues to give powers with free hits, then a 3rd health state that you need to time seems only fair.
Again, i know that this is not true for all killers or even most killers.

I'm really torn on DH, I don't think DH is broken in any way it just creates a boring gameplay loop and it gets repetitive seeing 3-4 DHs every game. That being said the games where nobody brings DH are so easy for me I get why everyone brings it. Ultimately I feel like the fix for DH is for BHVR to make exhaustion perks that are just as good as DH but less annoying to play against but I don't know how you do that, Background Player isn't it and Blood Rush is interesting in that it pushes people to SB but idk if that's gonna be enough.
2 -
What other powers give free hits like that besides knight and artist? Skull merchant might make you leave the loop but you just take the hit and now you are playing vs an m1 character with a gimmick, it's nearly another legion in a way. I don't really think 2 killers existing is a valid reason for the dh neck sniff to still be in the game at this point.

How? Survivors love dead hard and they're the majority voice in any discussion of the game. People also love contrary opinions after things have settled.
