What can I do with the killer perk Claustrophobia? [Cruel Limits]
I don't know what to do with this perk. Does it have any use?

Goes on the massive heap of mostly useless perks.

You might get use out of it on maps with a lot of vaults but as-is it isn't particularly strong. The times I've seen it my reaction has been "oh hey look at that" rather than "oh hell..."

If it's bad then how would you buff this perk?

It's a hard perk to make use of, primarily because it's not realllyyy in your control.
The ideal scenario for using this is a survivor finishing a generator in your face, on a map with a lot of vault points- so something like Lery's. Both of those things are meaningfully out of your control, and the effect you get if the stars align is only really decent at best.
Unfortunately, it's just kind of unlikely to see value from it. Thankfully the other two Demogorgon-turned-generic perks are pretty solid, so those two can be used to decent effect.

I remember one time Otzdarva got value from it in old Haddonfield the Strode house gen as Bubba. That was literally the only time I have ever seen the perk have any value ever.

I've used it to help with "Break dropped pallets" tome challenges, because it forces survivors to use pallets instead of vaults in chases, but that's only because I have very very few perks available on my killers on Switch. Only a few killers are prestiged and one of those is Demogorgon (joke's on me, there, since his perks became general pool perks).

You have to play someone like bubba who can insta-down and be near a gen when it's about to pop, otherwise your one hit probably won't have been worth the perk slot when you could have brought something more reliable.
There's tons of ways to buff it. They could make it block pallets too, make it global with a reduced duration, etc..

It remains in your inventory never to be used.

Make it affect the whole map

uh, maybe it synergizes with Tinkerer and Bitter Murmur? Like you sneak up to a gen that's almost done, then it pops and blocks all vaults and you get wall hacks for a bit? Then also slap on Fearmonger so they can't Sprint Burst away.
Not sure. It's a clunky, gimmicky perk.

The only way i can see it work somewhat is to combine it with tinkerer and bubba
When tinkerer triggers and 2 survivors are working on it there is a chance they will finish it just as you arrive and then you have 2 target with all vaults nearby blocked
But the stars have to allign for that to happen
It's pretty bad

It's pretty bad. Gens rarely get done in your face and even if they do, blocking a couple of nearby windows isn't gonna do much in the grand scheme of things.
Perks that require you to be losing gens -need- to have a strong effect to be worth it and this really doesn't. Maybe if it blocked ALL vault locations map-wide for 30 seconds after a gen is popped it would be worth bringing but I dunno.

Best bet is to run with this is tinker and

My own thought was have it center on all the Survivors rather than the completed generator. Likely to hit more vaults and can also act as an information perk.

I tried it out for a couple of matches with different killers but I never got use out of it. This is especially bad in larger maps due to travel distance. Some maps like Jigsaw are lacking a lot of windows so this perk is also somewhat map dependent.
Why not give it a token system like Fire Up? Every gen that's completed increase the timer by 5 seconds and blocks all vaults. The fifth gen will block all the vaults permanently.
I don't know. What I experienced with it is that they're long gone before I arrive and then there is only a few seconds left before the vaults are open again. I would rather use Doctor to find survivors and make that challenge easier for me.
That scenario is probably one out of trillion chance.
I tried to use the perks you suggested but no luck. What I hate is that you have to make one perk viable by combining a bunch of other perks just to make it a bit better.
True that.
and?

It was a demogorgon perk. It was useful because demo had tunnels and its addons allowed some interesting functions, but most killers cant use it. Freddy cant. Sadoka cant. Hillbilly can kinda if he was already headed there. The tinkerer+claustrophobia is usually beat out by other combos. Discordance for example provides plenty of info - especially when 3 genning.

For lulz use this perk and burn a Lerys offering. When a gen pops you can sometimes see 20 vaults closing, but your Window of Opportunity (see what I did there?) is pretty narrow. Its more of a meme build then anything else, you could maaaybe pair this off with Blood Favor in order to shut down all of the survivors ressources, but again, the duration is so incredible short, in the time you barely have the opportunity to catch up and smack them once, unless you were just closing in and they finished the gen in your face.

Which addons would be used with Claustrophobia?
Closing in but then it's more niche to a specific killer. Bubba would work but all things should be in your favor when that happens and pray that there isn't a nearby pallet to ruin your day.

Waste a perk slot that's all it does. You're better off using perks like discordance, bitter murmur, tinkerer, etc. anything than that perk.

Otz one time did. It was quite satisfying to watch.

The game has changed a lot since they dropped the stranger things license so demogorgon isnt getting the love he needs for the current meta, but used to be elvens soda, rotten green tripe, deer lung, and leprose lichen.
You combine it with tinkerer and go to town
