Why do you play Dead by Daylight?

Behaviour Interactive Inc. is a Canadian video game development studio specializing in the production of 2D and 3D action/adventure games for home video game consoles, handheld game consoles, PCs and mobile.

They specialize in producing bugs. Why do you defend this 'video game development studio'?

The same reason I play any other video game; I enjoy it. If I didn't, I'd stop playing. GGEZ

the game was affordable. new content is regularly released. i'm not forced to purchase the content to continue playing the game. the game supports solo play (killers ; no joining guilds ; not required to be part of a team). the online is stable enough for me to play. i don't have to deal with voice chat constantly screaming at me for being bad or being "unfair". the game has crossplay and cross progression.

there are current generation games from big name studios that can't get these simple features right.

gta online still doesn't have crossplay and every generation the accounts get reset.

battle royale games and e-sports titles force you to be part of a team.

voice chat when it works is just children screaming or junkies blasting music in a trailer park.

content for some games like bf2042, halo infinite, and for honor takes half a year to even release anything.

eso and fallout 76 basically requires paid subscription (dare someone to play it for a month on base game edition without giving into the subscription model) doesn't have crossplay or cross progression.

fighting games get released all at the same time and the fgc picks 1 and forgets the rest so the online is pretty much dead for the others.

story games like atomic heart are rehashes of 20-30 year old ideas and just as buggy.

elden ring gets boring after a while.

db kakarot is removing the multiplayer card game feature and i've basically been destroying the story at breakneck speed. i'd prefer it last longer considering i threw $100 on the fire for all the dlc.

and... racing games and sports games are boring.

    🤷🏻‍♂️

for a team that has been working on the same game for 8 or so years... it'd be one thing if the game was an offline story game and they never fired anyone or people never got hired in, but considering the last 4 years and the fact that it's a multiplayer only game with a smallish company that has had to rapidly expand shrink and expand again...

"i think [they've] done pretty good so far"

I agree with all these points but i've always struggled to remember or articulate them 👍

Tell me you don't know jack about computer programming without telling me you don't know jack about computer programming.

    To be perfectly honest,

I only play/care about DbD because I stream it and nobody wants to watch anything else.

I'm sincerely hoping that whomever is at the helm now can start to correct for all the insane damage Patrick did to this project.

Im not sure if I really do play it. Every Killer that I really enjoyed was changed past a tolerable point (for me) and now I just lurk around for the next chapter or update, always hoping, always waiting. Might really enjoy SM and stay and Play consistently again, but hard to say. I’m hopeful.

Sounds like you need a break. Game is fun, but it’s possible you’re just burnt out.
