Do you still genuinely main M1 killers?

I'm a Pig main ever since i started playing dbd (Saw fan) but i question myself so many times. Do any of you experienced killers still main M1 killers (Trapper, Pig, Sadako etc.) or have shifted to anti-loop killers? It's not fun following survivors around loops with no mind game until they drop the pallet, break the pallet and on to the next. M1 killers are good on maps like Midwich where the loops have mindgame to it.

i play everyone but i used to main ghostface primarily, like 6/10 games id be ghostie over any other killer, but in the current meta and the way his detection works makes him just... unfun. his stalking works like, once a game if im lucky, because once they know its ghostface, ill never get a full stalk off again. Stalking in chase takes longer than just hitting them twice most of the time. i play wesker primarily now. good, fun power with no bullshit detection, useful in most situations, and strong.

I’ve been maining Pig for a while actually, currently on a 94 win streak. Her lunge is generally speaking near worthless but her slow down from traps is very good and gives you time to play loops as an m1 killer. If you’re good at multitasking with macro game play you can also pressure the boxes. I get a head pop like 1/3 games and many of those I don’t would have more pops but they basically end up giving me a free down on them as they’re panicking to get it off from my pressuring. I like macro game play killers.

I do still think she’s bad and needs a lot of improvements, specifically in her crouch/ambush/addons, but I do think she’s better than people think she is.

I don't even think Pig is particularly bad.

I still play a lot of Ghostface and I could play a lot of Legion if my conscience would let me

I can’t stand the lingered break out. Like I break line of sight and it still has a lingering break out. It’s way too generous on the survivor side for breaking him out. Also the flapping sound so they can hear me coming even though he’s a stealth killer. Those things annoy me about him.

Wraith is one of my most-played killers.

But then again I've also started to play other Killers more

Im not sure if Twins counts as an M1 killer cause of Victor, but I 8/10 plays as them. Sprirt, Doctor, and Sadako on any of the days im fed up with missing my pounces.

I don't really "main" anyone, but my go-to killer for if I just want to play that role and don't have any other inclination is Clown and yes, I genuinely enjoy him.

Map design could use some work but if I didn't enjoy this game I wouldn't play it, it's not so bad that I can't have fun with the killers I enjoy playing- and that includes a fair number of M1 killers.

i prefer m1 killers , feels more rewarding getting downs with them but yeah against people playing safer and abusing the god awful map design that DBD still has can be quite annoying playing killers without anti-loop every now and them.

my mains are : wraith / legion / pig / blight (even when i still think that blight needs a massive addon nerf IMO)

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Double speed addons on blight are way more broken than alchemist ring

I play a lot of Sadako, Ghostface, and Myers. It's really not bad IMO. There aren't that many tiles that are 100% un-mindgameable. And most filler tiles can be turned into 50/50s after the pallet is down, which you can turn into reliable hits if you're good with M1s. I'm not going to lose *every* jungle gym/safe tile/killer shack on a map. It's a problem if a killer is only getting hits on dead zones or bad pathing. You can create hit opportunities with basic M1 killers.

Have a process going into a tile: the initial pallet play where they pre-throw or don't, the loop, and the decision to break or play it. Mix up respecting vs not respecting to get some hits on the initial play. Then use your red stain to try and get some hits on the looping portion. And then make the call on whether you can win the vault game or zone+break. M1 killers can get hits.

Blight is my main all day. I typically play anti-loop m2 power killers just because of the skill floor / ceiling.. but I do play all killers.

I doubt anyone will ever dethrone Huntress as my fave, but I still play plenty of Trapper and Wraith, and a fair bit of Myers and Sadako as well. I have fun and I do fine, obviously it gets pretty hard to bring less powerful things against opponents that bring the more powerful stuff but.. duh.

Even if it was in my experience much harder I can still see myself keep playing them. I've always been that guy that brings the goofy meme gun in a FPS game or something anyway, feels a special way when you still do well with something like that.

I play a variety of killer but yes, alot of them revolves around M1 killers. Myers, ghostface, wraith etc.

I mostly main Legion, i try to fan out to other killers but i always go back to them

Imo everybody who wants to be good at this game should main a m1 killer at some point

M1 killers force you to learn how to pressure, mindgame and a lot of basics

You can really tell who the killers are who jumped on antiloop and never played the m1 game, the moment you find a way to counter their m2 they crumble to bits

If you can't do decent with m1 killers you are stunting your growth with all killers, outside of nurse ofcourse

I generally prefer macro and stealth play to anti loop/1v1. Most killers like that are M1 killers, so yes. I still main M1 killers.

Sure. I have 2.500 hours in the game and still main an M1-Killer, even more worse than your Piggy: Freddy.

But i started to main Pig at the beginning and moved over the Freddy a year ago. Piggy is still one of my favourite killers to play. Sadako is my Nr. 3. After these three, I go for everything besides Trickster, Artist and Pyramid-Head.

Yes, mostly Ghostface, and most games it's really fun to play him. But of I get too many bully squads, I just switch to Nemesis and destroy them :) what loops? What pallet? Against Nemi?? 😂

Well, I main wraith. I also do better with him against strong teams than any other killer.

After playing blight enough, I don't have the patience to hold W after a survivor for more than 10 seconds. I used to play quite a few of them though.

I don't really "main" anyone, I play all killers mostly but I'd have to say on average I play more m1 killers. The closest character I have to a main is Freddy after all.

Yeah, the reveal progress should reset if the survivor breaks their gaze on GF (it's nothing but 1.5 seconds) and the billowing cloak noises should not be part of the kit.

Also, stalk meters should reset on a down, but not an injury because the whole "you can do nothing in chase" aspect is pretty bogus in 2023.

I gravitate towards m1 killers just because it let's me enjoy more characters, I feel like m2 killers you gotta learn and put a ton of time into mastering to do well with and then keep playing them so you don't get rusty.

There's no m2 killer I enjoy enough to really do that with when I can go from Clown to Wraith to Dredge to Cenobite without too much trouble and enjoy that variety.

Yea this is what turns me away from playing m1 too much.

I mainly use Freddy because I like the stupid claw glove thing. The blood puddle thing is terrible, but I guess teleporting to gens is nice? Dream pallets are fun to use.

I also play Myers and bing-bong man (Wraith) because they're easy to use.

I used to play Sadako but between the stupid jumpscare on the waiting screen and feeling like I'm not using the TVs effectively (That, and I still don't understand the weird quasi-invisibility she has) I can't be bothered now.

Idk, m1s are easy to use. I tried Nemesis long ago and I felt using the tentacle was more frustrating than useful to me.

I still don't have all the killers, though. I want to use a couple others, but shard are earned preeetty slowly.

I used to main Pig back in the day but stopped because she just can't keep up with today's killer standards imo. I would like to main her again, but I can't bring myself to do it right now.

Dredge is one of my mains and I really enjoy playing as them. Sometimes they can be more enjoyable than Artist (My number 1 main). Sadako can also be pretty fun, but I don't play her as often as I used to.

Wesker Influence on my mindset very badly when playing other M1.

Every time I play M1 and I behind a survivor and it take ages to catch up. Always have a though, man, I wish I am Wesker.

Survivor also response to this differently as well as Wesker is a threat when they are behind you in 20 meters

You get a head pop once every 3 games?

Guess the devs will be nerfing Pig soon.

Survivors are not supposed to be that easily removed from games. That's why Onryo's tape mechanic is so weak.

I'll play M1 killers a lot, and actually enjoy the monotony of looping until the pallet's dropped, breaking, and doing it all over again at the next loop. It requires very little thinking and I can carry it out like a bot, on days where I feel like turning off my brain to just have fun.

What I don't like is survivors taking protection hits; especially for an uncatchable survivor who's never been hooked. This is why I enjoy playing Sadako. She can disappate and go through body-blockers. She also has mobility, even if not the best in the game. She has stealth, even if not the best in the game. She doesn't have lethality, despite her kit's description; unless you turn the game on its head, so I don't bother.

You could argue that survivors hopping off gens to take protection hits is a good thing, to which I agree, but I think 3 health states is already plenty for 1 survivor, they don't need more. Plus, the survivors will still try and bodyblock Sadako a lot of the time anyway. Not sure why. Just figured they haven't learned yet.

No one ever said it was easy. It's a lot of pressuring people off boxes combined with certain addons. Also a mix of survivors not respecting the traps and thinking they have more time than they do as they aren't anticipating my addons and the amount of time the boxes are going to take with me slowing them down. Generally just underestimating Pig.

I play all killers, but prefer stalkers and jump scare killers.

meyers, ghostface, spirit, dredge, freddy, nurse (sometimes), and probably one or two i’m forgetting.
