The Difference between Dead Hard and Eruption

After it got announced that Eruption get's nerfed I saw a few people who compared Dead Hard with Eruption and said that when Eruption get's nerfed dead hard should get nerfed too. I have to agree and disagree at the same time. Eruption deserves his nerf and so does Dead Hard. The difference between the two perks tho is that one of them requires skill and the other not.

To get the effect of Eruption you need to win a Chase. Something that requires Skill. If you get looped by one survivor for the whole round you will get no perk value and lose the round. If you are able to down the survivor you get the effect (but for the real effect you need to have also luck that a survivor is actually working on a gen and doesn't repair it completely before the down happens)

Dead Hard rewards you for being bad and holds your hand like a toddler.

"Oh you overestimated yourself on a loop and will not reach the pallet again because you where to greedy to drop it one round before? No worries, just press E in the right moment and you will get a second try and even a small sprint burst"

So one perk requires that you are good to get the effect while the other gives you the effect for being bad. Both are broken and both should get reworked

There are situations where DH requires very little skill (predictable killer powers) but it isn't a complete no brainer like it used to. Against M1s it does take skill.

Still doesn't change the fact that it should be nerfed or reworked to do something different.

For me eruption has been lot easier to use than dh. In fact I could even argue eruption requires less skill as literally your objective is to down people so it should not be too hard. Dh requires very specific timing so it's lot harder to use for me and killers have learned to bait it out. If killer just midlessly lunges then yeah dh is easy to use.

True. Literally no brain third life on button against every second killer's power. On last week i had a match where dh'ed in time 5 times against Blight. He was good, just didn't wait it out or fake with power. I mean, 5 is almost amount of health's states that i need to be dead. And know what? I have plenty of matches on both sides where even 1 dh turned the game around.

Can't wait this braindead boosted perk will be destroyed. Along with CoH.

Peanits said BHVR was aware that people were complaining about it enough for it to be considered "a hot topic". Peanits did not say BHVR considered it a problem, and he did not say whether or not anything would be done about it.

    Said elsewhere, say it here

If the survivor is "bad", they will not land a DH basically ever.

If good players can mess up their DHs, then bad players probably can't even MISS a DH let alone get one off.

Your assuming that doing your objective don't require and skill. Downing a survivor isn't just hold w hit m1 I'm most cases(it can be) there is alot of skill and time investment in downing a decent survivor.

To be honest I'm cool with the new dh now if I get hit with it it's normally dang nice dh or dang I forgot they had dh my bad.

The "Dead Hard requires skill" argument is flawed.

Dead Hard requires skill in the sense that you have to get used to its timing, but the same is true for every timed mechanic in every game ever. Dead Hard is not some high skill tech only top tier players can use.

And besides even if you somehow manage to fail get used to a timing even the players at my potato MMR can pull of easily, you still get value out of Dead Hard because the mere threat of it's existance is enought to extent chases and stop Killers from lunging and challenging pallets.

Or it could mean they are just going to wait a few months to see if the forums are still flooded with complaints, and if the frequency of complaints goes down within the next few months, then it's not longer "a hot topic" and therefore doesn't need to be fixed.

I never cared for the whole this perk requires skill and this one doesn't... My main issue with dh is the fact I have to play as if every survivor has it even if they don't have it bc 9/10 they do have DH. I'm tired of seeing this perk in every match I have and Im tired of having to play the waiting game in every chase to "bait" it out. Its not fun at all... Is the new DH better than the old one? Yes, it's 10x better but that doesn't make it any less annoying to go against in every damn match. I much rather go against a mix of exhausted perks than just 4 DHs. You don't know how much enjoyment I get when I get headed on or see a lith. It so nice to see those types of perks used than seeing 4 press E gamers.

Well downing good survivor is probably good comparision how hard dh can be to use properly. Like you said it has to be very good dh to get value agains't you. But normally it's easy to down survivors most aren't good and if you camp 3 gen area with eruption well even decent survivors are easy to down when all pallets are gone from that area and eventually they make mistake.

Like I said for me downs are lot easier to get than value from dh if killer knows I have it and is patient. But I think most killers aren't also that good so they just lunge to dh... I assume im probably better than average killer/survivor as I have 3000 hours in this game.
