lets discuss bringing the old dead hard back
i know it was opressive but honestly the current dead hard allows them to get to pallets/windows anyways, tank the hit, and then get a sprint burst afterwards. either way you still have to sniff the survivors butt before you swing.
at least with the old dead hard killers could use their secondary attacks (tricksters knives, huntress hatchts, victors pounce, demos shred, etc. and recover to launch another ranged attack) trickster gets hurt worse because it just resets the laceration meter and victor didn't get kicked after whiffing through a dead hard unlike the current version).
killers who used exposed perks could wait it out and hit them after the recovery now they just tank the hit and run off while gaining knowledge of what killer perks are in play (noed, haunted grounds, make your choice, devour hope, etc.)
Thoughts and opinions?

Except you couldn't? I can't tell you the number of times I would shred a survivor with demo and they would scream but not be downed because they had i-frames because of DH like old DH had distance AND invincibility now it's just invincibility and you get the distance if you use it correctly. Bringing back old DH would be an absolutely terrible idea, it was changed for a reason.

As problematic as current DH is, old DH was so much worse to deal with.

no

you cannot fool me with this post Survivor main

no we can delete dead hard we ain't bring old dead hard back dead hard needs to go
7 -
We would rather not.
Old dh was effectively a guarantee of everything going right at the push of a button. New dh there's a chance for the survivor to fail or the killer to out play (not counting scripts). We'd rather a small chance to get a down than a near 0 one.
Survivors also now have a chance not to be surprised down from noed or devour (the others listed already give some indication), which removes some fun factor, but is oh well. We bring this up because survivors that we have seen complained more about the surprise factor more than anything else (not entirely sure why).

No, let's not
I would take every single survivor in every one of my games running Nu DH before I would even consider talking about maybe entertaining the possibility of Old DH coming back.
Old DH legit had me ready to quit the game over and if they brought it back, I'd not play killer again.

i play both sides...i didnt pay to just play half a game
0 -
the surprise factor is what made instadown perks more effective
0 -
that would alienate a good part of the player base
1 -
Please no
I know this is a contentious opinion but I don't actually mind the new DH that much
Old DH was the most frustrating thing for Killers to deal with and maybe to some the new DH is but not for me personally lmao
2 -
I'd rather they just revert back to the pre-July 2017 version of Dead Hard.
When it didn't exist.
2 -
dont think that will happen, david king is to popular and a poster child of the game at this point
0 -
do you bait it out or use a 1 shot killer that dominates the perk?
0 -
I either wait it out or down survivors who are animation locked or deep wounded.
Old DH used to make me lose games, New DH hasn't really had that impact in my games. (I don't speak for everyone though.)
For reference, my most played Killers lately are Sadako, Wesker and Dredge.

Yeah it's great never being able to use a lunge attack against good survivors
The animation is also shorter than the ability which is infuriating to wait it out but still eat a DH anyways
I would honestly rather deal with the old DH. At least then on a lunge attack they don't get halfway across the map for "outskilling" you when you can only do a short attack at loops
The only plus side is that many killers can now completely bypass it, but the ones that got screwed by it get screwed by it extra hard these days

Dead hard for distance had no counterplay for 90% of the cast though. I'll take a deep wound over an i-frame scammed hit
It's a bit silly we're at the point now where people genuinely think old DH was better for Killer.
1 -
DH still has no counterplay in tight loops. It's basically the same thing in a lot of cases. Some killers just get completely gutted by it (pyramid head). Now instead of them just gaining a few meters for dodging your super slow and predictable attack, they get an entire sprint burst. Trickster also losing all progress on his knives for a DH basically ruined the character because I still get lobbies with 3-4 DHs.
But similar to old DH, the strongest killers don't even care about it and just plow through extra health states. It's really the weaker killers who actually suffer

As an Oni main, I prefer the old DH.

I will happily admit new DH screws over most of the projectile killers. That I will 100% admit. Huntress, Trickster, Pyramid Head are all hard countered to a certain degree by DH. (Not Slinger though)
But as someone who mains mainly m1 killers, I really do not feel like I lose because of this perk anymore. Maybe I've just adapted to it, I don't know but I've got so many clips of survivors failing their DHs in my games it's hilarious.

This really is a skill issue.
Anybody who thinks that new DH is better than old DH is trolling.
2 -
that is what i am saying...both m1 killers and range killers are suffering now when before it was only m1 killers

No.

reasons?

No need.
Just no.

you dont think new dh is more powerful in certain cases than old dh? huntress/trickster/twins/pyramid head are worse off with the new dh
0 -
Wow so this is what we came back to? Got it.
First DH wasn't even as problematic as it was for a long time because exhausted on he ground was a thing, then it got worse to he piin it was unusable during 5th anniversary. It took months to get hit validation and guess what happened? The servers basically crapped themselves and didn't down people when it should and it obviously needed a change.
Then comes the new DH that actually got nerfed twice if we count PTB to be a 0.5 second parry that's more counter able than old DH but now m1 and Ranged killers that aren't Deathslinger got cucked and now we're circling back to old DH?
Please make up your minds. Do you want old DH or do you want new DH? I'd rather it be gone from the game just so you guys can shut up about it for 5 seconds.

Absolutely not. Old DH was guaranteed value.

and these are the cases that help promote a variety of killers in the game. i dont mind using a lower tier killer every now and then but all it takes is an endurance hit on a ranged attack and go back to the s tier killers who can just plow through the health states easier.

i love this guy! he got the dh av and everything. Just trying to trigger people hahaha
@Skill_issue Keep up dog lol

As said, it only removes surprise factor from 2 of the exposed perks as each other one has a notification (Rancor, dragons grip, myc, haunted grounds). Making 2 perks only slightly more effective is not worth the annoyance that comes with old dh.

Question. I've only been playing since august. How did old dead hard work?
0 -
It was a 0.5 second dash that gave a few meter additional distance to emulate "dodging an attack" plus the still remaining invincibility frames during it.
But at some point it wasn't used to dodge a hit but simply to gain the free distance to make one more loop or reach a window or similar. This was also done outside of the killers reach, the "dead hard for distance".
Killer that weren't dash or projectile killers couldn't do ANYTHING against it.
It also made the survivor lose collision so the could try to dash through the killer, to more or less success depending on the experience of the killer player, and they could dash THROUGH trapper traps.

I think i would sooner agree to removing exhaustion from the current dead hard then i would reverting it back to the old one
No matter how bad the current one is, the old one was way worse
1 -
Do not bring back the Dead Hard where survivors can see a bear trap and "lol no".
NEVER AGAIN!
0 -
old dead hard gave invicibility frames and distance when it was used(most commonly to reach a pallet or window)...new dead hard gives endurance armor and then a sprint burst which has made it even stronger vs m1 killers and ranged attacks in various cases
killers like the trickster could just keep using knives on old dead hard to hit the survivor when they came out of the invincibility frames as long as they didnt reach a safe area.
new dead hard gives the survivor an extra health state which means another 6-8 blades to get the injured state if they can even reach the survivor after the speed boost.

Wow that sounds insane. And people complain about it now 🤣 must've been awful before.
