Do you think it would be good for DBD to have new secondary objectives ?
I think that's where this game should go. It would fix so many issues.
They can release new features as part of a Chapter DLC, and you can only interact with it if you buy the DLC.
For example, let's say each map has a unique, specific "TEAM BONUS" that you can grant your team if all secondary objectives are completed for that map. For example, let's say Coldwind Farm. Maybe Coldwind Farm map's "TEAM BONUS" is permanent "3% Haste" to team if you complete all the secondary objectives. And maybe Midwich is "6% healing speed" or something. Each map unique to it's theme and killer. And the secondary objectives would have a list of things to do before it activates.
"But SilentShepherd, then they aren't doing Generators"
Okay, so maybe the secondary objectives are a support system to the Generators.
For example, let's say they add a new secondary objective that is a support system to our primary objective, the Generators. What do these features do? For example, let's say you have to run around the map "constructing" a part to auto-fix a Generator in 2 seconds, but it takes a while. Let's say a "part" is randomly generated on the floor in each match. If you find it, you have to go find a workbench station (every map would need to add random locations for one). You get the part, find the bench, and interact with it doing a different mini-game (not skillchecks again), to fix the part. Then you need to take the fixed part to a random computer station (maps would need to add random locations for it) to program the chip in the part, with another mini-game. Now you've given your entire team 15% to Generator repair speed. Or maybe you can use this part to fix any generator to maybe 75 or 80% from 0 or something.
That's just a random idea. The point is, you can think of a million new "secondary objectives" for Survivors to do

It would not work, because the time it would take to do those things would take away from working on gens. Getting a boost to gen repair speeds after spending a bunch of time to find items is not beneficial. If they were to add secondary objectives, they would have to make them mandatory, and then balance the game around it. The only reason to do that would be to make the game more fun. If they created "optional" secondary objectives, people would just ignore them and work on gens, and that development time would be wasted.

Pinhead sort of already did this. And survivors hate him.
The box + plaything totems is enough to overwhelm most solo Q teams
I personally really hate getting punished for my teams mistakes, because DBD isn't a game where you can carry a bad team to victory. You just kind of do gens, wait for the team to die, and wait for hatch. Even if you are a god looper the killer can just ignore you, and bodyblocking only does so much.
Oni is one of my most hated killers to face for this reason. Against a good one in blood fury there is almost nothing you can do, and all it takes is someone on your team getting hit too early and you just die with no input in many cases. Meanwhile im holding my sprint burst and would predrop every single pallet if I was the first one being chased, but ~3/4 times you are not
That's why im against team-wide buffs or nerfs in a game like this

I can't see secondary objectives working. Base DBD at its core albeit stale or not is best for the game.
