Reveal Killer Aura for All when Chased.

DemocRat
DemocRat Applicant Posts: 22

When a survivor enter a chase with the killer, the killer's aura will be revealed to all other survivors as long the survivor being chased have line of sight on the killer.

Since i seen people use the excuse of ( SWF have that information and easily tell others to their team ) when being in an argument about the new soloQ system that reveal Gen and Heal Progress, then this surely won't be an issue since "SWF have that information and easily tell others to their team" :D

Potato potahto, SWF have that information and easily tell their team the exact killer's position. same thing aura or call exact location. SoloQ can't communicate, so Aura have to do the job to bring SoloQ to SWF level ;).

Well, surprising stuff need to be discussed since BHVR is sometimes surprising with their direction of balancing.

Even SWFs don't have that kind of information.

Or what if the HUD showed an icon/portrait of the killer next to the survivor being chased.

SWF get to call that out. Solo can't.

If you mean to know which Killer they're facing, then yes, i agree. Or instead of portrait, they can reveal the name of the killer (like how the map name is revealed) once a survivor have a direct los on the killer ofc.

That would be pretty good as a perk, but not basekit

I'm all for bringing soloQ up, but the standard shouldn't be the tippy top of map call out SWF. The number of balance changes you'd have to make to pull that off would be enormous.

Also, even with top level SWF, I've seen occasions were all the time they spend calling stuff out actually led to an error/mistake. I think the current direction of the HUD is good, if it is something that could be communicated easily in a word or two, let everyone have access to it, if not then don't provide it.

When I saw the title I thought this was going to be a suggestion for a perk a survivor could have. Which might be a good idea, but also the engine has a lot of problems with actually picking up when a chase is going on.

This would be a massive buff for survivors and a massive nerf for killers.

Um, no. This is a terrible idea.

Just because seal team 6 swfs, which there are extremely few of, can have that information (yet again, still approximately) doesn't mean every SWF does, or that every survivor should.

The extremely vast majority of swfs, who play casually and aren't significantly stronger than their solo counterparts, don't have this information. And neither should they.

People hated old OoO for a reason.

You know that people also argue that SWFs are broken, right?

But yeah, let's implement this to the survivors' base kit as well. Maybe even outside of chase as long as someone has LoS. And why not give survivors aura vision on Trapper's and Hag's traps while we're at it?

I'm sure Nurse will be fine, though. You wouldn't mind seeing that killer a bit more often, would you?

Swiffers don't have that information and in fact could benefit tremendously from this. How are killer supposed to mindgame someone if another player on their target's team can call out whenever the killer is hiding their red stain or doubling back? This would be incredibly broken.

Mean old Object of Obsession? No that was one of the most busted perks and had to be removed.

Absolutely not. Players are already insanely good at ambushing with flashlights. No need to expedite that particular tactic. You still get TR so that should be enough.

This would be a great perk for the chased to use.

But on basekit? no get out.

No, Sluzzy's threads were of high quality. Still miss them :(

    BTT:

With the HUD and a bit of gamesense you can estimate where the killer is. No need to show the aura. It would also give SWF an unfair advantage because they can reveal specific mind games and actions of the killer to the chased one.

Would be one of the most miserable and boring change for both sides the devs could implement.

Not something I need, want, or would wish upon even the sweatiest killer.

This isn't the high minded debate strat you think it is.

There is a difference between making parity between SWF and Soloq players and enacting a systemic change that breaks the game.

Informational parity has already been reached without outright breaking the game. Keep in mind that the biggest reason people dislike dealing with SWF play is the fact that it breaks some of the more immersive aspects of game which are used to facilitate certain playstyles. Giving that same level of disruptive potential to Soloq players by giving them a killer's exact position for free without at the very least making them burn one or two perk slots to get it is problematic in way that could only result in just having it rolled back or killers getting a compensatory buff that overrides it in an equally problematic way.

I think its time to remove the killer all together.

4 people fixing gens and then leaving now that's a game.

I like my horror experience with the least amount of threats, unknowns and risks possible.

If they can't remove the killer then I, at the very least, want every piece of information I need at all times to make sure I'm always making the best decision possible and have constant affirmation of that.

Basically I want a game experience where I never have to guess about what might be happening, I want to feel safe that even in this nightmare realm populated by homicidal monsters I've always got a safety net and am never really under any threat whatsoever.

this is true but your way too discrete with that. aura reading on killer is way to discrete to be base-kit. A more indirect way to do that is show aura of survivor that is in chase. this does not show the precise location of the killer but it shows your teammate is getting chased which indirectly showing the killer position.

Again there are perks like that. specifically Empathy does this when the survivor is injured. Bond does this for both injured and healthy however has restricted range.

Clearly i didn't mean old object, please read this guys post and my comment again.

I think a perk to show the killers aura to other survivors when you're being chased would be pretty neat, stick a few conditions on it to keep it from getting out of hand.

Old object is safely in the pits of hell on taco bell night, never to return

So you want everyone to gain old Object of Obsession while the killer is in chase EXCEPT the killer???

    Wow. Just...wow.

I've seen some horrible ideas on this forum, but this has got to be one of the worst. It's right beside the posts saying that survivors should be able to block certain killers so they wouldn't have to play against them.

    fulltonon Member Posts: 5,762

Reminder that the chase still kept even when there is a wall between you and the killer.

But funnily enough, if it's only for soloq and only for other three players, it would work.

Which I'm 100% confident that unless you're a comp player, you've gone against less than 5 times in all of your playtime
