Question about blocking
If I block someone (in game or through Steam profile), will it prevent matching with this player in future?
For example, in Dark Souls 3, if I block someone on Steam, that player cannot invade to me, I cannot invade to him, we cannot coop or be summond to someone at the same time, in short: interact in game in any possible way.

No, in DbD this feature will just block those people from being able to send you friend requests

you can't even use the block function as a visual indicator as the text doesn't change for blocked players. I'm wondering if the function works at all.

Ugh that sucks. I always thought it would prevent me having another match with them.
I've blocked people who worked with the killer, purposely got me killed and hackers (on both sides)
Oh well, I guess I may come across them again. ><

Probably not. People would just use it to block anyone who plays in a way they don't like.

If it will increase their queue time, it's their personal responsibility. But I don't see any problem to block someone you don't like to play with. It's not a job where you have to, it's a computer game, on which we spend our free time deliberately.
And again, example with Dark Souls, didn't hurt it at all (but there was huge problem with cheating and I have huge blocklist of DS cheaters)

It works the same on console as well, just blocks comms with them not matchmaking.
The general consensus is that such complete blocking would be abused badly, whether it's a playstyle that's disposed,l or every good Nurse/Blight player out there.

People who block you increase your queue times as well. Not to mention since survivors need a group of 4, anyone in that group of 4 can't have you block if the devs were to implement this. And if you play survivor and each survivor in the lobby has a different set of people blocked and you have no one blocked, then you are still going to have long queue time.
This isn't about personal responsibility. Blocking affecting matchmaking will hurt everyone including people who don't block others.

They have stated a few times already they are not looking into implementing this.
always a possibility they change their minds later on.. but i wouldn’t expect it any time soon

The thing is, DBD is the biggest community of whiners you have ever seen. If the Blocking-Feature would actually do something, people will block everyone they dont like.
You will have Survivors who block Killers they lost against. You will have Killers who block Survivors who escaped. You will have Killers who block Survivors who teabagged or played in an SWF (if it is a constant SWF it is even enough to block one of them). You will have Survivors who block Killers who are Nurse/Blight/whatever-Mains.
The DBD-Community is not mature enough for such a feature.

They will do, but only a fraction of them. I hate to came again to DS example, but it's playerbase much smaller that DbDs (especially after 5 years) and it didn't die. And there was whiny community too. I agree, DbD community is much more whiny, entitled and childish, but I still believe it wouldn't harm in general. Especially if they add block-cap, like Simfeliz supposed.

Your worried about this, so what's the opinion on the d/c penalty? People complain that d/c ruins the game for the remaining players so that player should be forced to have their game ruined. I myself have been matched against the EXACT same killer at least 10 times in the past month. Always the same small map, always doctor, always tunneling, camping, slugging right from the start of the match. I can't block him even though he ruins the game for 4 players, yet if we leave WE get punished. I do believe there should be a block list specifically for solo que especially for situations like what I listed above. NOBODY should be forced to play with people who ruin the game for them especially when they paid for the game.

I agree whats the point of blocked someone from sending a message or friend request we can just ignore that. What we need is TO BLOCK the person . The way they have this game is Dumb. We should have EVERY RIGHT to choose who we want to play this game with . Especially if We PAY FOR CELLS .. I'm already sick of how they running this game system that I'm deleting this game .
