So why even have different rarity Medkits?
As the title says why bother? The brown medkit is just as good as a purple now.

Especially since medkits are best used on yourself to either allow your teammate to stay on gen or heal yourself when you're alone and injured in late game.
So bonus to altruistic heals on medkits is a joke.

Outside of the green MedKit, they already only increased altruistic speed. Brown, yellow, and purple MedKits will all heal you in 16 seconds (going up to 24 next patch), the only differences being the amount of charges, the exact healing speed, and the skill check zone sizes.
Admittedly, next patch there really won't be much of a difference, but as of current the altruistic heals are all that benefit.

That's what I mean though. There was a point to the rarity as you got more charges. Without that there's no point to ever use higher than a brown medkit.

They should have just nerfed self healing speeds across the board instead of reducing charges. Medkits should just be slower than a teammate heal, like 50% or something.
It makes purple medkits totally redundant. They needed a nerf but this is just dumb...

"Healing will be slower and self healing gets no bonus speed. Clearly, there is nothing that benefits from increased rarity."
Altruistic healing isn't no benefit, but it'll be interesting to see if the limitations on self healing and the slower healing overall push people towards considering fast healing more effective than gen efficient healing.

BHVR is trying to incentivize survivors to group up and heal each other more, which is arguably a bad play(in terms of pounding out gens asap) as many people here have pointed out but they are trying to slow down game speeds in ways that don't involve touching gen times.

Which is why I wasn't replying to you, but to the person that said "bonus to altruistic heals on medkits is a joke" because outside of the green medkit that's the only place the bonus has been for a hell of a long time
