Are you all ever patient? The moment the midchapter gets announced EVERYONE loses their ######### like changes this big have never happened.
I'm over here just looking at the forums and being like "....first time?"

Rin, I am tired I think. All I see is one side attacking the other, opening Twitter you can see many people trashing down on people who think DH was OP or looking down on people for having a different opinion.
Sometimes I think I should just give a break from forums and Twitter DbD since it is all just shitting on everything, everyone, narrow minded people, some of them including some content creators / streamers (size doesn't metter).

If you’re a killer main, you’re pretty use to perks being destroyed (Pop, Ruin) so this chapter isn’t surprising.
but survivors never have a perk “destroyed”
iron will sure but it didn’t change the core gameplay. It’s just a tantrum for 2 weeks. I would stay off the forums for 2 weeks until their tantrum is done and they learn to adapt instead of complaining

Borrowed Time, Self Care, Vigil, Decisive, Balanced Landing, MoM. These are just the ones that come off the top of my head. These are just perks, which werent even the strongest thing Survivors had.
To say that theyve never felt a perk of theirs being "destroyed" is just plain ignorant.

Good points. I wish more players would stay open-minded about the developers' vision. Whether you like or dislike the upcoming changes, they deserve credit for branching out and being a little more ambitious than they have been in recent patches. Many players have been asking for a meta shakeup for a while, which is what this patch will do.
While I don't agree with every change coming in the midchapter, I do like most of them. In particular, I'm excited for the game to move out of the three-gen/healing meta, as matches on both sides have been feeling uninspired, with little variety in builds on either side. It's time for a change to make the game feel exciting again, and I'm optimistic that this meta-shakeup will lead to some interesting variety.

Old dh was still at least twice better than new one. Well could say the new one is even different perk only thing common with them is that you activate it from same button while injured. Now new dh definetely needed nerf as even with 50% as powerful as old dh it was too good. But rather some other activation condition would needee than making it best decision for killer to tunnel to avoid it all together.

Since I've been back on the forums, 80% of all threads have been complaints about DH and Gen Kick Meta. Now that the devs have addressed those exact points, people are still going crazy. Why? Because only one side should be buffed or nerfed. Entitlement at its finest. But, you know what? DBD has died so many "deaths", any cat would be jealous... 😅

Honestly I'm all for a controversial PTB, I think the chaos is fun

the perk is a one time use and u don't know it exists until u see the Survivor used it and it'll definitely be way less used now so tunneling every Survivor just for a chance if it existing will be as common as tunneling to prevent deli which just doesn't happen.

It’s weird. Everyone asks for drastic changes then loses their mind before even testing them

I have been patiently waiting for BHVR to nerf Blight's addons. And Spirit's addons.
Waiting.
Patiently.

I suppose I'm just tired of it at this point.
The gross incompetence and refusal to acknowledge the higher-end of players.
No average Billy was using Engravings to curve. That was all high-level and it wasn't even strong but it was FUN.
No average Nurse was getting hit by Lightburn or stopped from Blinking via flashlight. That was all high-level and it was a key counter-play to Nurse.
CoH is, for all intents and purposes, dead outside of SWF. DH is a secondary Exhaustion perk and still has its core issues, ie, it doesn't work half the time. Overcharge still punishes new players unfairly and it still combos with CoB, meaning the 3-gen meta is still viable.
It's just so disappointing to see the same mistakes repeated ad nauseum.

Vigil? I thought Vigil was buffed compared to it's original? How is it a "destroyed" perk?
The recovery % from Status Effects was increased, the amount of Status Effects covered by the perk was increased, and BHVR finally let it's effect stack. Vigil was never "destroyed", it just released in a state that nobody liked, it's always been an underrated perk in general.

Community: gen kick meta is boring, with incredibly long matches.
BHVR: we're nerfing Billy! Btw, BNP is completely untouched!
Community: what the actual #########....
You: they're making drastic changes, why are you so upset? Just wait and see...

Vigil was a very popular perk when it was first released since you could recover Exhaustion while running at the time, making it much more manageable to SB or DH twice in a chase
When they got rid of Exhaustion recovery while running, the perk fell down HARD and only really saw use again once it got buffed to 30% and got the other Status Effects added to it

It's completely fair to be skeptical. But people are losing brain cells before the changes have even reached the ptb

Yeah. I've mastered the art of not really caring what people think

I should put more skill points into that.

Cats could never hope to experience many deaths

You got time to learn. Personally I engage in stuff cause I find people's serious entitlement funny

I personally wouldnt count that as the perk being "destroyed" since the perk itself is not receiving any changes, only the gameplay elements around it.
It would be similar to BT, in a way.
BT used to be a "must bring" to every match, nowadays you never see it because gameplay elements have changed and Endurance on unhooks are basekit so people feel less inclined to bring it. Hell, BT got buffed technically, since it has longer duration + Haste.

It was still a change at the end of the day that made the perk obsolete. Similar to the scream changes done recently, but more on an extreme level.
BT was destroyed back in the day as well. It used to provide both the savior and the saved Endurance for 25 seconds, and have a Bleedout timer of 45 ssconds. Before Legion and Deep Wounds were added BT had its own timer which would only pause if you healed yourself. The nerf only gave it Endurance to the saved and reduced the timer from 45 to 25 seconds.
The perk was still being ran since it helped deal with camping, but was no where near as strong as it used to be.

yea the most used perk in the game and they said it's a trash perk that got nerfed again, like what?
i am glad DH is dead hard honestly

Where was BT "destroyed"?
With the first change, it was changed from one-time use to multiple use, with the stipulation that the unhooker no longer gets protection. Thats hardly a destruction, overall it was rather a buff.
And with the great perk overhaul, the timer for using BT was even increased (from 15s to 20s including base BT). So it got buffed here as well. The only reason NOT to run BT now is the base BT effect after unhook, which is sufficient in most circumstances.
Calling that shift from perk BT to base BT a "destruction" is really far fetched, imo.

I have to agree honestly lol.

Something you and the DBD team have in common, it seems.

I never mentioned the recent changes to BT, only the initial rework which was a long time ago and yes, if you compare its strength from before its noticeably different even if it remained strong
The whole point is that Survivors never felt one of their perks being destroyed. And again, thats just them being ignorant
