Med kits and Healing
Pls, just leave healing the same at 16s.
But make med-kits have a 33% healing speed reduction for self healing.
There, altruism is 16s and med kits are 24s.
Pls, it's not that hard and it will stop all the terrible consequences for the game to come.

Agreed. This is exactly how it should be handled.

Is that as the only healing changes made at all? Because that wouldn't stop the possibility of very accessible and reliable self-heals that are faster + more efficient than someone else healing you, medkits are only one big element of a larger problem rather than the problem in and of themselves.
Which, in turn, wouldn't achieve the goal of making injuries more impactful and making healing a timesink you choose to invest in rather than a quick formality.

Only if Pain Resonance’s nerf is reverted, and Overcharge and Call of Brine go to 150 max instead.

What do you mean, i just want altruism to not die.
Whatever they decide to do besides the basic is with them.
The healing changes as they are will break the game, there are way too many interactions and problems that arrive from their change.

Well, Botany or Circle of Healing would already bring that number back down to 16 seconds (if I understand the maths right, which I may not), which means anything in addition to that - like speed addons, or using both together, or one of the lesser-used healing speed perks - will bring heals right back down to faster than someone else healing you. That's not hard, it's not difficult to achieve or unreliable or even all that limited, so while the problem gets slightly better with this change, it's by no means fixed.
Altruistic healing is not going to die, even without changes. There are tons of tools for healing your teammates faster, you'll be able to perform altruistic heals perfectly well.
However, I do think that nerfing the altruism numbers on medkits is a bit of a mistake, I think that actually buffing those numbers might encourage more altruistic plays with medkits- which combined with all the other tools for altruistic heals, should get the desired effect more frequently.

CoH does't boost self healing speed in the update.
And just like Heal boost exist, heal de buffs also exist for killer.
You can't have healing take half a gen.
This just buffs camping and tunneling.
48s, this is what you need to heal and save someone that is camping. How is that ok?
Should you really just say, bring perks to fix a game issue? That the devs are creating

Yes, that's why I asked if you meant your change as the only healing change. If so, Circle of Healing would still be a problem, and if not it still leaves the other options.
So, buffing camping I get (even if I'm on the fence about agreeing), because it makes resetting require better timing, but how does it buff tunnelling? If someone's being tunnelled they don't have the ability to heal, because they're being chased straight away.

The only thing i am asking is for base healing to be 16s. So med kits get that de buff to self healing to keep them at 24s.
Everything else, i don't care. The devs decide.

Pain res, i wish.
Brine and Overcharge without a full on rework can die on the hill.

Even with altruism right now undoes minutes of chase in 16 seconds, how is that fair to Killers?
Hit and Run strategies are effectively dead unless you are on a high speed Killer and nothing you suggested will do anything about it.

If base healing stays at 16s, then some games will have zero healing speed nerfs. I don't see medkits in every game, and I've seen many games that are 100% altruistic healing.
Injuries currently don't feel like they matter, and this includes games that are 100% altruistic healing. All healing needs to have a noticeable healing speed nerf, so that every game can include the healing speed nerf.

I hope the developers start making polls or asking the community for what changes are needed in the game itself. Image a game where the develops ask the players what changes are needed? A quick poll could help them make this game so much. I'm really scared for the future of DBD, the changes over the last few years have caused good players to leave and more and more people are leaving the game the learning curve for new players is already hard as it is, I love this game but its getting worse over time and I hate to see it destroy itself.

Then give back Ruin and Pop. Some sort of costless regression or massive reward is needed. Can’t just partially forgo the survivor nerf without compensation for killers.

Polls won't work. Games have a ratio of 4 survivors to 1 killer. If we go by popular vote, then guess which side is going to win?

But hit and run was meta before
CoH killed hit and run because gave everyone free self healing.
Two survivors healing each other is a lot of pressure for the killer and that was meta before CoH
With CoH having it's self heal removed i expect Hit and run to be viable and not overwhelming.

Dude, i want them to give PoP back.
But what do you want me to do? Make a list of everything i want?
I barely feel like one simple change gets heard by the devs. I am with you and want them to buff PoP and even ruin in some way. But i am not going to be asking for everything in one post.

I dont think CoH is the only factor in the downfall of hit and run, it was hard enough before CoH.
Two survivors healing each other is a lot of pressure for the killer and that was meta before CoH
Not really cause most of the time those two same Survivors find a Gen and pop that in less than a min.

Dude, i am sorry but it will create a ton of other problems.
Altruism already gives killers 2 survivors occupied, killers have sloppy to help even more with the hit and run, that with med kits nerf would make it stronger.
Besides, this change would buff camping and tunneling.
Taking hits and bodyblocking will be more punishing in order to protect someone being tunneled.
And if some killer is camping, you take 48s to heal in order to save that survivor safely, 60s with sloppy.
Med-kits were a big advantage over altruism. But making med kits 24s and altruism 48 just makes altruism dead. In most situations it will be better to play injured all match and gen rush objectives or just bring med-kits and auto-heals, because altruism is nerfed way harder then med-kits.
Basically, when people complained about med-kits being to strong. This change made med-kits more necessary then before because of the nerf to altruism.
I hope this explains why i believe altruism shouldn't be nerfed.

I refuse to believe 8 seconds per person is gonna mean much, but we will see when the PTB comes in.

For med-kits is 8.
For altruism is 16.

better bring a med kit then darlin

Dude, a legion main just posted a tactic for legion by camping a person on first hook and survivors can't do anything on that new update.
Use the add-on that makes people broken, if you get a 5 hit feral. That person is dead.
Survivors literally cannot heal themselves in time to go rescue that survivor after the broken status is over.
I am telling you this healing change has massive consequences. I don't care if you think i am just being a butt hurt survivor.
This has way bigger consequences than you think. This is a basic mechanic they are changing and a lot of other mechanics and interactions change drastically because of it.
So stop saying things like 8s won't be that different. Well imagine if in the next update killers take 0.5s longer to break pallets and vault, won't you think those 0.5s will matter a lot?

Look, if you don't want to believe me, fine.
But at least play the survivor side on ptb before singing praises to the changes, ok?
0 -
Disagree honestly. If you've ever played against a killer that can make use of Sloppy or Coulrophobia, without any medkits or boons, you'll know it's still quite oppressive. 16 seconds is fine.
But part of what makes hit and run feel weak is also that survs are so willing to stay injured due to Dead Hard. That's gonna change. I'm really, really curious to see the PTB patch notes and how it all plays.
