AFK problem

Dear Dead by Daylight Support Team, I am writing to you today regarding a persistent issue I have been experiencing while playing as a survivor in your game. Specifically, I have been encountering a problem where the killer goes AFK multiple times in a row, causing me and other players to feel anxious and frustrated. This issue has been plaguing me for the past three years and has caused me to quit the game multiple times in frustration. I know I am not alone in this experience, as many other players have expressed their frustrations with this problem on various online forums. As a player, I feel that it is essential for the gameplay experience to be as seamless and enjoyable as possible. When the killer goes AFK, it disrupts the gameplay flow and creates a sense of unease among players. I believe this issue is a significant deterrent for many players, and if not addressed, it may cause a lot of people to quit the game permanently. I understand that you have a large community of players to cater to, and it may be challenging to address every issue that arises. However, I urge you to take this issue seriously and work towards finding a solution that will enhance the gameplay experience for all players. If this problem cannot be fixed, I would appreciate it if you could inform me of the situation, so I understand the issue better. As a dedicated player of your game, I want to continue enjoying it, but it has become increasingly difficult to do so with this persistent problem. In conclusion, I hope you take my concerns seriously and work towards finding a solution to this issue. I love the game, and I want to see it thrive, but I cannot continue playing with this problem unresolved. Thank you for taking the time to read my message. Sincerely, TPN

Agree 100%. I wonder whether those afking killers got banned after several reports. Because I do report them.

Sometimes life happens. Maybe their baby started crying and they had to attend it. As it stand now I barely see afk killers. AFK survivors are far more common, and even then should we punish them for killing themselves on first hook? No because it's a party game. Just go next.

I don't get why afl killers are hated, it's a free escape and if it's a macro killer, then your team can easily farm to get double pip up if they're not stupid and just genrush and open the door immediately

    Really?

I work from home, but also have a 4 month old son. He hangs out in his bassinet next to me while I work, and I'm there for him the second he needs something. If he wakes up in the middle of the match crying because he is hungry, do you think I'm just going to let him scream until the game is over? Nope. I'm immediately getting up and making him a bottle. It doesn't matter if I'm playing Survivor or Killer.

If you want there to be an AFK timer and then the player is hit / gets a DC penalty, i get that. Flat out asking for a ban? That's nonsense. Even in games with ranked mode (such as Overwatch), you would lose 50 SR and gave a 5 minute ban from Competitive Matchmaking.

Frequently AFKing is against the game rules, if a player has gone AFK you can report them and if they do it frequently they can be punished.

    Source?

I looked this up and found no results to a "Rules List" provided by the Devs.

Typically, games do not have Rules. The devs design it, and you play how you see fit as long as you don't cheat or harass others.

the killer goes AFK multiple times in a row

For clarification, are you referring to killers who spend the entire match AFK or are you referring to killers who go AFK partway through the match?

So then like don't complain you're depipping then when it's one of the easiest things to avoid?

Really, the one case where it's impossible to is if you're getting facecamped, your team DC, or they just simply won't save you

I agree with your point that it's the right thing to leave the game if you have something important to attend to and face the consequences. However, in my recent experience playing on the SEA server, I encountered three AFK killers in five games. I don't believe that all three players had something important to attend to, as they were constantly moving their characters to avoid AFK detection. This has been a recurring issue for me for years, with more than 50% of the killers AFKing for the entire game. It's frustrating to wait for the game to start, only to have to gen rush without any excitement or fun, and then wait again for the next 5-10 mins to find another AFK killer. and I don't care about gaining free farm or ranks, but i just want to have fun with my friends.

While I agree that a straight ban for a few AFK instances is not appropriate, Encountering AFK killers frequently on the SEA server is discouraging. I would like to voice my concerns and hope to receive more information from the dev team about the rules and punishments regarding AFK players, but I'm not optimistic that I'll receive any response from the dev team.

I apologize for my delayed response. I'm not expecting to receiving many replies on forums related to games, so I did not anticipate such a large response. Please accept my apologies.

    hope this clarify something.

Ehm... where exactly did I complain about depiping? AFK bloodpoint farming killers/survivors have to go away.

true, it really does screw you over if you have a challenge needing the killer to do stuff, like unhooking or being chased
