I’m a survivor and killer main, and the only reason being a killer is so fun is because you can actually win games. Being a survivor is like being a chicken in a pen with a lion. It’s not fair how survivor perks are being nerfed constantly and killers are being buffed. I’ve played about 5 games today as a survivor and won in NONE of them. But as a killer, I win several games in a row. It’s like bullying a bunch of kids that can’t do anything and have no defense. I really dislike it.

No it’s neither. I’ve been playing DBD for a while. I’m good at looping, blah blah blah. I can distract for minutes but it’s still not enough.

no they are not xD if dbd had a matchmaking that would work even a bit, you would see how every killer would be thrown against the wall and crying, with the exception of Nurse, Blight, Spirit the Trio

and bhvr leave the bad matchmaking as it is a swf where 4 good players can play together a win streak of hundreds of wins and also Nurse, Blight mains who have 500+ win streak xD leave your garbage MM just like that I just don't care because I'm out as soon as cs2 comes, no! bhvr please make the MM even worse hehe

I doubt in the 4 months I've been gone killer overall has become op, you know Nurse and Blight are about 3% of the killer roster?

Artis xD if you just have a mind and have an overview of where to w-shift you might be lucky if you have 5 gens 1-2 hooks but amazing i've been playing csgo for years and never REALLY EVER have i had people on my team who didn't know how to use weapons, which way to face and certainly not people who say "i don't want to play sweaty, i want to don't eliminate the opposing team" but in dbd people who don't make gens go on save pallets on the game in 10sec, just don't play the game laughing stock xD or in league never had anyone who didn't try to close the opponent's towers destroy, no only in dbd all the more i'm happy about my decision after 9k hrs to finally go away until bhvr finally comes to reason and just doesn't say with the mouth "we want to reduce the gap between solos and swf" but with theirs deeds one sees only everything was a lie nothing more

Everytime I play Billy I get bomb rushed in 4 minutes and people just pre-drop everything. If you don't play like a tryhard with the strongest loadout I have virtually no chance against them. Survivors are far from being weak. The most important thing is gen efficiency which has drastically increased since the meta shakeup last year. Not to mention their builds. 2 BNPs are normality and all htey run are the same predictable perks. Most likely DH, Resilience, Prove Thyself, Adrenaline and so on. For many other killers my games are chill but as Billy I need to tryhard so that I won't get completely obliterated. So no, survivor is not too weak and I know this because I escape a fair amount of times. And if I'm in a 4-man we escape most games with ease.

  • pigslittlepet
    pigslittlepet Member Posts: 483

well you are playing billy. the killer with the highest skill ceiling in the game and he gets rewarded the least for mastery and punished the hardest for any mistakes. mad props to you for maining him. what they are doing to his engravings is a major mistake

  • FMG15
    FMG15 Member Posts: 456

I'm aware of that. But still. Even if I perform incredibly wee, even if my chases are short as hell I still get almost completely obliterated. Maybe that's because I play nice or because PGTW is my only gen regression perk. But it feels just absurd on how fast survivors are on gens these days. All I want are chases but survivors are way too busy stealthing and rushing gens. And it gets incredibly boring. I wish the devs will make changes towards a chace centric meta and not a genspeed centric meta. The current meta tryhards are sucking the fun out of this game.

I think what Dolli was saying wasn't to disagree with you but that if a Killer wants to just do a wacky meme build for fun then they will be Gen Rushed and likely lose.

Yes I agree with you too that it's more Killer sided if we look at the average player skills which is a good way to look.

But then as the Survivor's skill increases the more the scales tip to the other side. The current MMR dosnt help keeping the balance either

You’re completely forgetting that you can’t control how well your Solo teammates play or how efficient they are at doing gens.

If you really care that much about winning then just play in a 4 man SWF, use comms, and bring your sweatiest gen rushing loadout every single match.

  • Pulsar
    Pulsar Member Posts: 20,904

    Well, yeah.

If any player brings a wacky fun build, they are probably gonna get tunneled/gen rushed and have a bad time.

That's basically just how the game works at this point, unfortunately.

  • AmpersandUnderscore
    AmpersandUnderscore Member Posts: 1,886

The problem isn't losing. I bring a build like flashbang, head on, blast mine, and residual manifest expecting in going to die/lose that game. Ideally getting at least one good moment in before dying is the only goal.

If I get hard tunneled right out the gate, there's no getting value out of those perks. I don't even get a chance to mess around before dying at all. In lethal pursuer games, getting tunneled first means never touching a gen. You can't even try to earn your build to think about using it and might as well be perkless.

For some reason tho, killers seem to have this expectation of being able to bring a 'fun' or 'meme' build and still 4k at 5 gens. Even if you accept that you might, possibly lose a game (the horror) by trying to make the game fun, you are guaranteed to have a chance to use your build. It may not work optimally, but you can go in and start working toward it immediately.

If having a fun build is only fun if you're winning the game, then it isn't the build that's fun. It's winning that's fun.

Some killers are overpowered, some are not overpowered. You cant say "THE Killers" in my opinion.

I mean, it's BHVR's intention to make the game killer sided, they have already said so in the past.

Add to that actually good killer players, or just average/bad killers abusing strats that can't be dealt with efficiently in most Solo Q lobbies (Solo Q being the biggest comunity chunk of the game) and you've got yourself a pretty killer sided game.

Seeing that (already boosted by SWF's) 39% escape rate months ago also hit like a truck.

    I dunno.

I don't win at 5 gens frequently but it's certainly happened more than once in the last week.

I truly think most games are decided in the first few minutes of the match. Did the survivors all split up on gens so there’s 3 on gens and 1 in chase? Probably going to be a 3 out minimum. Is it a camping bubba with deadlock? Nurse/blight/spirit/artist etc? Start looking for hatch when the game starts etc lol. Is it a skull merchant who burns the game offering so they can easily stall the game on both floors? Move on to next game and so on. Either side can feel wildly op depending on the situation. Solo queue generally feels doomed tho.

    1. Which Killer?

    2. What survivors? A Killer is not responsible for useless survivors sitting in bushes for their big flashlight failure. On top MMR sucks

    Pulsar Member Posts: 20,904

There's been a couple. One was one Ghostface a couple days ago. RPD but the Survivors were fairly acceptable.

Mot recent was Wesker on Dead Dawg. Was using the meme add-on, they brought me there. Tried to do the funny Head On + SG UB and Exponential but they kinda got killed.

Overall its true that killers are much stronger than months ago. With the upcoming Deadhard-Nerf, Killers overall will become more stronger.

I would say they are definitely the Powerhouse on Average and on Low-MMR. In the tops, SWFs will still decide how a game will go. I think that a good SWF will still be able to beat almost every killer without being perfectly coordinated. However, the Average Killers will receive more Wins than Pre-6.1.0 for sure.

BUT: There are some who needs to be nerfed (especially Blight and Spirit-Addons) and some who needs some Buffs (Freddy, Trapper, Myers without Tombstone).

Overall I would like to see ALL KILLERS coming closer together.

  • pigslittlepet
    pigslittlepet Member Posts: 483

Matches tend to go to whoever is most efficient or ruthless. Killers who effectively tunnel out a survivor early will probably win. Survivors who let someone go to second stage to finish that gen they are pressuring will probably win. It's all about who can be the most effecient at their primary objective.

I love how my point is that 'fun games aren't necessarily winning games' and you hyper fixate on the one obviously hyperbolic statement in the mix.

Kinda illustrates my point perfectly when I sarcastically say '4k at 5 gens is all some killers care about' and your response is 'HOW? How can I attain this power?!?'.

This. What was the last survivor perk to be nerfed, COH? And it was still showing up in every game. Probably DS makes the list but 3 sec stun is still very strong against tunnelling. Not to mention buffed base kit BT was added which means all us survivors who ran BT now have a freed up perk slot.

Killer perks are nerfed on the regular. NOED was broken and needed a rework instead of being nerfed into oblivion. Sadly hex perks are all dead now except maybe play thing.

While I feel the pain of solo q, the problem is killer players have been leaving. This means us lower MMR solo survivors are being matched against higher MMR killers. They play to win & steam roll low MMR teams.

What did killers get in the way of buffs? Gen slowdown is a thread bare concept now in exchange so is self healing for survivors which is the way the game was always supposed to be.

Time constraints. I can't speak for everyone but I'm a mum with young kids. Most swfs (understandably) need time commitments. Between the kids, sports commitments, and just real life responsibilities, it's really only feasible for some people to play solo.

sad but true. Nobody want proximity chat in this game so i don't know what more could realistically be done for solo q players

    ah understandable

Yeah u sound super busy so u just gotta deal with solo q unfortunately.

No, you're 100% correct. I just recently got back into the game and I have to say maybe every 10 games as a survivor I would escape even when playing with a full squad. Last night when my friends got off I decided to do my killer daily rituals for the first time in 4 years and let me just say that I have never felt so catered to in any game ever. I actually ended up having so much fun being the killer I stayed up for 10 HOURS straight just playing killer. It is so one sided, it's like a grown man fighting off four kids. I also did not lose one game in those 10 hours, every game I killed every survivor with no one escaping. I haven't touched the game in 4 years and I didn't lose a single game. I also didn't use any perks just the base level 1 killers. That's really all that needs to be said. I couldn't believe how many buffs the killers got over 4 years. This is quite honestly the most unbalanced game I have ever played. That being said I still love playing the killers, but survivors are never going to be fun without friends.

“It’s not fair how survivor perks are being nerfed constantly and killers are being buffed. ”

    I don't get it.

Survivor is literally get the first nerf in 9 months.

How could it be nerfed constantly?

And about killer's perk ,i dont think i need to explain any more, say a perk that not being nerfed before is far more difficult.

  • reiternn
    reiternn Unconfirmed, Member Posts: 3

Sorry mustdogen but it's not about who is getting nerfed honestly. Killers are way too overpowered on a base level, I mean I literally played for 10 hours straight with 0 losses. The variety of the killers doesn't help either. Honestly the only people who don't think killers are way op are killer mains and people who don't play the game.

I’ve mentioned this (or tried to articulate it with little success) in previous posts/comments. I often feel that because the casual and beginner level is so much more brutal for survivors that when they start the game, most of their experience is being annihilated and things like camping and tunnelling really exacerbate this. When new players start the game, not yet always understanding or knowing all the nuances and concepts of bm-ing (unnecessary slug, hits on hook, pretending to give exit/hatch only to kill etc etc) or can do a number of ways: Stop playing due to difficulty lack of progression, continue playing and gradually come to terms with this and find a balance, or, get better but hold deep grudges against killers in general (ye olde cycles of hate and toxicity).

cue, many killers who will say “well those killers only do that in response to all the teabags and they’re experience from survivors!” And of course that is both understandable and not incorrect as such, but the reality is that at a base level of entry, it is beginner survivors in solo who indisputably suffer the most devestation. My theory is that this will make these survivors join forces in swfs who may already have gone through the ‘great filter’ mentioned earlier, or get better but seek retribution after initially being powerless.

This is why for me, I believe making the entry level game more equal and intuitive, less susceptibile to mechanics-enabled things like tunnelling and camping (easier said than done but that’s another topic and of course not one with an easy solution) leading to utter devestation and desolation, woxh in turn would create less of filter/cycle leading to so much us v them situations.

The number of upvotes this likely disingenuous post has just shows the Survivor bias on these forums. If legit, must be playing Killer vs low MMR folks or they are a god and would love to see their gameplay footage.

teammates teammates teammates. even one can lose the survivor team the game. unlike some other online games, you can't really carry the team if the killer doesn't troll by chasing a good survivor for 5 gens. frustrating, unfair but here we are. BUT, if all survivors are competent, the game 100% favors survivors.
