Please, tell me, WHY SHOULD I USE HEX: RUIN OR SEPTIC TOUCH?
You have to give me a really good reason because I don't think Hex: Ruin should be a Hex totem after it got heavily nerfed and Septic Touch should also affect altruistic healing meaning healing other survivors will afflict you and the survivor you heal with Septic Touch.

I don't think hex totems should exist in any form outside of things that spawn the totems such as play thing. The only Hex worth running is devour with a full build dedicated to it imo. Maybe blood favor too.

Truth be told, I never have used a single hex perk aside from pre nerfed undying and hex ruin so your statement isn't wrong.

Yep, most people are probably the same. Even ruin/undying pre nerf was over rated, only blight/nurse/spirit got optimal value out of it(no way!).

I would never use Septic Touch by itself. However, I do have fun using it in a build with Coulrophobia, Blood Echo, and either Unnerving Presence or A Nurse's Calling

Ruin is still worth running as part of totem builds with an active killer playstyle. Especially on a killer like PH who doesn't generate value from hooks or Pinhead/Pig who generate pressure passively. Ruin by itself has always been a bad. Hexes need full builds to be worthwhile. A Hex by itself is pointless.
Ruin/Haunted/Undying/Pentimento is very viable. Players often forget to factor in the totem cleansing time sink and only think of Ruin regression in a vacuum. Plaything is more of an inexperienced survivor trap. Really good survivors will just ignore it and not give you the Pentimento token.

So I have to dedicate my entire loudout for 1 perk? I'm fine combining 2 perks but 4? No please this is terrible.

Blight was #1 with the hex undying combo since hex undying gave you survivors aura and you're at your hex totem within 2 seconds using your power. Add hex thrill and you heard a loud notification too.

If don't want to run them, don't run them. There are lots of weak perks.
Ruin has its uses. Hex builds benefit from it, but also nice with a fast killer were you are chasing survivors off gens constantly for them to start regressing. Not S tier, but gets value.

It's a force multiplier. You benefit from the other totems when players cleanse them, and you get value from the Ruin totem when players aren't on the gens. Your call, but there's a reason the build is banned at the comp level

Yeah, I completely understand not wanting to make an entire build around something. I assume most players like having a well-rounded build. For me personally, I love having a build dedicated to doing similar things and being strong in that area, such as tracking or chase builds. The build that I recommended for Septic Touch is a type of anti-healing build that also gives survivors exhaustion, blindness, and hemorrhage all game long.

Ruin is still situationally okay, but only sometimes. I like running it on Legion with Fuming Mixtape for 200% regression during Frenzy (yes, they stack). It basically gives you back old Ruin again, but only while you’re using your power.
You use Septic Touch by not equipping it and letting it rot. It’s one of the worst perks in the game.
