While this is not everything that i would hope.
I have to thank bhvr for listening to the feedback of the community and improving the update.
This update feels much more hopeful and much more balanced.

Remember, without killers youll get huge queues, or face same killers over and over and over.. I knew they were gonna crack on survivor tears. Its 4vs1 after all.

Making healing absolutely miserable is not the change the game needed.
The changes are fine, the biggest problem was that self-healing was able to be reduced to just a few seconds. Altruistic healing was never a problem in the first place, it is good that they reverted the base healing-changes and only nerfed Medkits and CoH.

Have I understood this correctly? Healing nerfs (or some of them) reversed, but killer nerfs stay?
So overall killers will still be worse off again after the update. Please tell me the DH nerf stays!

these changes are great and it seems like you don't understand what those changes even mean for the game.
- making altrustic heals worth it, but self-heals not, will slow down gens a bit. Besides that, interrupting a team-heal is very powerful especially with Mangled status effect
- it's a passive buff to perks like Nurses Calling and Deathbound, but also to Bond, Botany and Empathic Connection - perks you don't see much ingame right now
- Dead Hard is a mediocre perk now. You can easily counter it if you REALLY want to camp & hard-tunnel, besides that it's not a guaranteed free hit like Off The Record, you still have to hit it right. Having another anti-tunnel option is also great
- making altruistic heals not worth it would lead to a Resilience/Adrenaline/Prove/Toolbox Meta were games last 5 minutes, while some killers would play slug-builds to abuse the slow heal

Sorry what I meant was the nerfs to gen defence now outweigh the nerfs to survivors, so this update hits killers worse than survivors I fear.
Especially given the current balance.

Some of the killer nerfs were reverted as well, and they didnt completely revert the healing changes. The way they did it I think was actually really smart, making altruistic healing unchanged but nerfing self healing.
DH also got nerfed even further by only activating upon being unhooked

Thanks for clarifying. Yeah, my main worry is the overall nerf to gen defence. The one area that needs a buff id say. But let's see how the game plays once it goes live.

Some of the most problematic and most widely used survivor perks got significantly nerfed.
CoH no longer gives (unlimited) self heals, and DH is no longer useable every single chase. Plus medkits, which every survivor can have, were nerfed.
Meanwhile three specific problematic killer perks were nerfed, which aren't even the only viable regression perks. Jolt, Corrupt, Deadlock, DMS all still exist as is and are great slowdown.
PR is no longer the "win more when you already win" perk and tunnellers best friend, instead it actively encourages not tunneling, and is still an effective slowdown perk.

I do disagree on your assessment of the other regression perks, and I don't see how the changes addess the gen rush meta, but that's ok.

Idealy gen defense wouldnt be the strongest perks out there since they wouldnt be as necessary on some killers
Would allow for much more creativity in builds

I think the patch is great but 100% healing seems a bit much even with CoH losing it's self healing ability. I'd say 75% would have been fine. 100% leads to absurd things If I remember the CoH ptb right.

We really arent considering just how bad matchmaking is. Most killers I dont even have a single gen regression perk and go against several thousand hour Survivors very consistently and still do very well. Most games I lose I make LOTS of mistakes, such as missing shots, making bad calls, commiting too long to a chase, etc.
Now when it comes to going against a full team with the same amount of hours as I do, its MUCH harder to pull that off but still very much possible. (5.5k hours if you're curious)

In my experience and what I've seen, when survivors and killers are at similar levels, it's mostly a survior win. Hence why balancing is so poor at the higher levels.
Gen speeds are still really quick, and chases are not incentivised due to strong loops, pallets etc.

Its mostly 50/50 at the top level, which is shown pretty well in tournaments

there was a tournament held roughly a year and a half ago where there was 0 restrictions and the only thing that was pre determined was the map. The average killrate was 2.16 and one of the many games that was a 4k was actually from Artist who was the most recent killer at the time.
This game aint perfectly balanced, but its still a lot closer than most people think

I cannot agree for one second that the game is perfectly balanced, especially at higher levels. But clearly our opinions are different and that's ok.

It’s not, but you can’t get rid of all the good regression perks while reverting the healing changes. Gen rush will literally be out of control.

The killer un-nerfs were absolutely useless to me. Pain res is still unusable trash, and Billy is still an obsolete Blight and still isn't worth playing.
DH got an un-nerf, because the original PTB version was a lot worse for survivors, because it meant that people that equipped dead hard wouldn't always be able to use dead hard, if they couldn't get any safe unhooks. The current version gives 2 free dead hards to every survivor that equips dead hard.

Pain Res unusable trash? What? You do realize just how much 25% is right? The perk it self is literally worth an entire Generator worth of progress and there's nothing stopping you from saving it later in the game thanks to it being a Scourge Hook
Billy being "an obsolete Blight" is still a bit true but it is definitely a step in the right direction
DH 100% got weaker, it is worst than OTR in basically every single way

Yeah, I'm sure the twelfth pain res hook turned a lot of games around for you before. Honestly if you're on your 9th+ hook you've essentially won the game already so gen slowdown from those hooks was pretty meaningless. And since they nearly doubled its per-hook effectiveness, you could argue its better now for some uses. Its just not as good for holding a three gen for 30 minutes anymore which is fine since long 3-gen battles aren't fun for either side.

Oh its without a doubt weaker, but not by much. To surpass the amount of gen regression it will now provide with the current Pain Res, you need 7 hooks. So if you actually use the perk like you're meant to which is spreading hooks, you will benefit from it more and it will have more of an impact at times where it counts.
Also I've been doing just fine without Pain Res, medkits and DH are also still getting nerfed which were without a doubt more impactful than Pain Res. Killers have survived worst than this.

I agree. This is the first time in a while it feels like BHVR listened to the community for the original PTB and then the adjustments that were made after PTB. The only people who seem to be upset are survivor players who relied on DH to carry them in matches.

Yeah, I wanted to throw my two cents into the pile! I was very concerned by a lot of the stuff that went onto the latest PTB and I'm extremely glad BHVR saw the feedback and walked things back. We've had a lot of PTBs where nothing changed onto live and it had me worried we were going to enter an age of forever heals and Billy being bricked up into a shed somewhere, but nope - things are looking pretty good now.
I'm so glad base healing time was reverted - I was genuinely dreading playing in a 24-second base heal DBD. I'm kind of confused about Pain Resonance, but I guess it's more frontloaded now? And CoH is now viable if not great like it used to be. Looking forward to the new Autohaven tile!
