Question about Shattered Square
I played on this map a couple of times today thanks to survivor map offerings. Did the devs ever fix the bug where it was spawning too many safe pallets?

Sort of.
The bug was actually that every available pallet spawn was used, iirc.
That's been fixed.
The issue is that the map is dogshit and still spawns 20+ pallets that all chain together while also burning your retinas with its color scheme.

No, the inability to make a proper map is the feature of BHVR.

Remember years ago when they “balanced” pallets by removing a single pallet from maps? Same thing here.

Truly awful map. I'd long since gotten the impression that BHVR seemed to have some internal issue with making at least decent maps (not even looking for good, just decent). But this just clarified that they don't have a ######### to give about building maps anymore.
Excessive amount of obvious/safe pallets that chain into other pallets/loops, color scheme that legitimately hurts your eyes to look at it, color scheme that camouflages both scratch marks and blood pools to a ridiculous degree, HUGE map to try to traverse as both survivor and killer, piles on junk EVERYWHERE to get snagged on as both survivor and killer, multiple duplicates of the shack so you don't know which one is THE shack, very few tall wall areas to avoid hits from ranged killers or block LOS to mindgame, and so on and so on.
Some maps have their own unique problems, like Midwich/hooks and Gideon's/pallets, but Shattered Square is just a terrible POS all around.
When playing killer, any survivor group that runs an offering for that place I do my best to make it as miserable for them as I am, usually leaving them to bleed out while I park in a corner facing out from the map until the timer's up. As a survivor, if someone runs an offering for it I just go next immediately.

I am more annoyed at all the tiles that have weird crap in the way of the loops causing me to get stuck on everything.

To be fair, even this map can have bad RNG. I once had only one pallet gym on 9 without any chance to reach another tile after drop. It was a death against Billy ;C
