Guard Teleportation Mania
I just played a match where a Knight had to camp a survivor to get one kill.
My plan was to take the guard's attention and run away from the hook so that my other two teammates could get the save. I was injured, but I could totally outlast a guard and I hadn't been hooked yet.
So the guard is placed directly at the hook, and I step in it's tracking path at the very edge and immediately start running away.
The guard proceeds to travel INFRONT of me (like a good 10 meters from where it was) as I am now running AWAY, and then down me when it actually gets into its chasing mode. The whole match proceeds to fall apart.
Never knew the guards could become Nurses.
Maybe this is just me, but I've seen guards travel like that tons of times. Where they travel farther than they usually do and end up actually downing a survivor because their movement is totally erratic compared to 90% of what they usually do.
I'm gonna assume that this isn't really meant to happen because usually they just float and move slightly towards their target before chasing.

If you get spotted by a guard, no matter where you are, you will get chased by it. The guard will phase through walls and pallets (except jailer, he's special).
They will always begin the chase exactly where they spotted you

This was on The Shattered Square, with nothing between me and the guard. Idk why it went straight towards where I was when I was so far away.

Huhhh I don't think your teammates needed help, touching the hook despawns the guards.

Nobody could have gotten to the hook without getting hit by the guard. Then the knight could have simply hit them.

Is this true?
Survivors can just commit to unhook without fear of guard hitting them while in animation lock?
I took a break during the Knight's release, so I don't know any of his idiosyncrasies. I assumed this was some BS abusable thing where I'd need to notify the Killer I was going for unhook, loop the guard until his Standard was capturable, and then go for an unsafe unhook as the Knight returns to hook.

It is, but there can be unlucky instances where a guard can hit you before you unhook.

Does the guard despawn on unhook, or simply beginning the animation?
Because if the Knight is camping WITH a guard, it just sounds like an auto L. He might as well be playing Bubba

The begining of the animation. The guard won't hit you if you bolt straight toward the hook and touch it ASAP.
I've played and played against knight, that is how he works. Knight is no better than wraith at camping.

People act like Guards make camping oppressive. They don't. Literally let him chase you, the unhook. It's that simple.
Just make sure you are "spotted by the company" before you unhook. If you unhook, and THEN get spotted... well, run.

I've seen countless survivors easily dealing with the guard, they takes decent time to reach survs.
