May as well farm bloodpoints once you see this perk in play and your teammates don't let go. Why hasn't it been killswitched??

You're not supposed to let go from the gen like with Pain Res / DMS.
You just need to hit the skillchecks. Or what's the problem here?

The problem is that merciless storm is bugged and causing unintended regression on the skillchecks.

The perk is bugged so that hitting the skill checks causes the generator to regress by a substantial amount, usually between 85% and 100% of the way, but only sometimes. The exact causes of the bug are unknown, so avoiding it is also unknown, but letting go of the generator, taking the 10% missed skill check penalty, and having the gen be blocked is often the better option instead of needing to re-repair every generator.
The reason solo queue is involved is because you cannot tell them "oh yeah they have merciless btw don't forget it's bugged and to let go". Cross-platform games means you can't remind people in pre-game chat, either.

I think what's happening is that the entirety of Merciless Storm is counted as one skillcheck, so if you get interrupted or fail one, it counts all the prior ones as failures too.
So if you clear five skillchecks, but miss the sixth, all six of those skillchecks will be considered failures and cause 60% regression.

Didn't know that. If the devs are aware of it, they should killswitch it.
They should use that feature for any bugged perk/addon, even it's not "gamebreaking".

It's obviously a big problem but an automatic lose? Not quite. Now, with my impossible skill check doctor build with expanded terror radius on meat plant, sure you are in a LOT of trouble. But most games, most maps, most killers, it's just a bad bug but not a guaranteed loss.

Again, this is incorrect.
First of all, merciless storm isn't that hard to successfully complete. So on gens where people actually hit skill checks, there's zero progression. There goes your "every gen" story. Secondly, someone speculated (and it makes sense) that it counts all of the skill checks you hit along the way as missed skill checks. I run merciless storm and during this issue, I would often see it hit and only knock 20% or so off the gen. yes, sometimes it nuked it to freaking zero. It seemed to depend on how long someone was on that gen.
You can also simply walk away from merciless storm as soon as it happens.
Again, the park was busted, it was bugged, it needed to be fixed. But as is the way on the forums, give someone a thing to blame besides their own skill and they're going to pretend that is the reason they're losing every single game. A guy can get a 4K with 5 gens left and a survivor will claim it's because his "dead hard didn't go off". We place great importance on bad luck, and no importance on good luck, and we assume our skill is never the problem.

I thought Merciless Storm was only regressing gens while blocked but this is really a problem. They should really killswitch it.
But knowing BHVR'S track record of killswitches I have my doubts that will happen.
