“Killers aren’t overpowered”

Yeah? Most of my games look like this behavior. MOST OF THEM. It was a huntress too. Doesn’t make it better. I love this game so much that it just makes me want to commit a crime when I play it.

It's certainly possible. I did several times b efore this patch, but this did often include people intentionally advancing hook states. Mostly playing something like scratched mirror myers and downing some edge lord running no mother build in the first 20 seconds does it (which I did today)

That's not possible outside of teamates or yourself. Even iri tag/green speed blight won't stop you before a gen is done.

If most of your games are like that, I'm guessing you mostly play with friends?

If you love the game, take some initiative and try to coach them a bit on how to improve.

I mean, the time around controversial patches is usually a ... show.

Since no one seems to play "normal"

That seems like my average Solo Q game, yeah.

It's either that or nobody gets hooked. There's zero in-between.

Because DBD is a game of snowballing. It can go wrong for either side and when it does, it snowballs pretty fast.

even tho, IMO those are outliers. It does not happen frequently that a Killer gets below 3 Hooks and all Gens are done or that no Gen is done and the Killer gets a 4K. (Which still does not mean that both sides come close to winning, but a complete demolition of the other side is not happening often. And I would blame MMR on this over anything else, because sometimes you just get those games where a 3 hour Bill pairs against a 8k hours-Killer or vice-versa...)

my survivor games after the update: Every game someone's afk, DC's, suicides or just refuses to do gens, goes straight to killer to get killed faster.

And end game chats are about how killers are op now. Like BRUH. Killers have NO regressions left besides Jolt that's crap on most good killers. If you did the objective, you would escape more. Don't want to do gens? Loop the killer, but wait, YOU CAN'T without your DH. Survivors are running like headless chickens without DH holding their hands. I see many people switch to Sprint Burst and be surprised it's not as easy with it.

It's not killers fault for survivors having to learn to play.

I'm glad i never used DH in my life cuz i'd be the same crybaby right now

I didn't read all the comments, but I think there must be a lot about your "skill issue" and "learn to play".

The thing is that because of pressure of crybabies, some two unofficial laws settled:

    • killer must win all the time
    • learning to play applied only to survivor, killer shouldn't learn

Because some very skilled survivors that live in the game make hard time for killer on tournament-level, survivors named "OP" so 90% of survivirs players have to be tournament-level themselves, otherwise it is like on your picture.

I just compare how much I win as survivor and as a killer, 10%/90%, so I believe target point is 0%/100%. Next thing should be removing pallets and windows, because they can give some annoyance to killer.

Question, aren't those 6 hooks at 5 gens or do the own hook states just not show up?

  • Gwinty
    Gwinty Member Posts: 981

Honestly I can not relate to the "Killers are op" fraction.

I play both sides and get a mixed bag in both cases. However there is a high tendency for a one sided result even thou that shows nothing about the match itself. As a survivor I have quit many matches where the position would allow for 3 escapes but then altruism kicks in and the match ends with one escape. Same when I play Killer.

Most matches I get stomped as a survivor are either

    a) a Nurse

    b) a Blight

    c) a suicide / dc

    d) somebody trying very hard for the flashy save

Playing against anything else than these gives me a pretty good game with some back and forth. At least one survivor dies most of the time.

The worst problem are suicides and dcs. Because even as a Killer I am just there and have no clue what to do now. The match loses its fun the moment one person decides that they do not want to play against Oni/Cenobite/Ghostface or whatever I play. It leaves me with the impression that suiciding or dcing is the equivalent to face-camping for a survivor.

If a killer has killed 2 survivors and 5 gens are still remaining then the survivors are bad

This is also assuming you get the full value of each hook which is pretty unlikely in that short of time (not actually getting 25% right away)

it's entirely reasonable if you consider that multiple half-completed gens don't count towards the gen count

Everyone needs to remember that their own personal experience doesn’t extend to the entire community. I played some games yesterday after the patch and I found the results to be pretty typical to what they were before the patch.

On survivor (I play solo queue) I had some matches with good teammates and we had 3-4 escapes, and some matches with terrible teammates (some DCs) and everyone died.

On killer, I also had some good matches and some bad ones. Gens still get done incredibly quickly against coordinated teams and camping/tunneling seems to be the only way to apply pressure in those matches. I also had a match in The Game where I ate about 50 pallets and everyone escaped easily. I had some matches where one or more of the survivors weren’t very good and those were pretty easy wins.

As before the patch, it’s all over the place. If you’re getting destroyed consistently playing either side, then maybe take a look at the way you’re playing the game.

No it's 7 the hook death is considered the 3rd hook. Now if you want to count the mori that would be 8 because that survivor was on death hook.

Oh yeah, totally ignored the character portraits 😅 Whoops

Edit: Probably because I wanted those little individual hook marks soooo bad as a friendly killer. The wheel was so useless. 😢

You can't draw any meaningful conclusions because the matchmaking is seriously all over the place during times where there is an abundance of survivors online. I'll get multiple p100s in a lobby and then the next game get complete babies. I'm talking specifically primetime in the evening when killer is at +100%

During the work day is when it's sweat city

Looks like what happened in my huntress game yesterday. I'm a garbage killer but because of altruism it was pretty easy to get a 4k (but I always let one go).

Leaving someone on a hook to finish an objective is fine. The results are the same as long as you pull them off before the next hook state.

I don't know what fantasy land you're talking about. Every time a killer player makes a thread complaining about how hard the game is, they receive nothing but an entire parade of "skill issue" and "git gud" and "quit playing".

  • Crowman
    Crowman Member Posts: 9,553

People are often very selective about the feedback they read. It happens all the time on the forum.

Survivors complain that only killers cry for nerfs despite the topics about tunneling, camping, or whatever the meta killer perk is.

You probably missed the point. Of course there are complainers from both sides, but from killer side it ten times more, like "OMG, I was killing everyone and got to top MMR, now they dare to wipe floor with me, nerf survivors". Maybe I'm so lucky, but I constantly see complaints how hard killer life is.

I intentionally don't mix it with camping/tunneling threads, because it's just unhealthy exploit to game design in general, not one side.

But the MAIN THING is that in my fantasy land, I almost never lose as the killer and almost always as survivor. Fact is fact, that's why crying about killer hardship is something like flat-earth or santa-claus to me.

Of course, I cannot say what would happen if magically camping and tunneling would gone (killer experience wouldn't change, but as survivor there could be major increase in victories), but for today, I have what I have. And 8 hooks (probably 8 stages) at 5 gens is very frequent scenario.

Glad I'm not in your matches because I haven't been dealing with that at all. I don't win as soloQ survivor often but my games consistently get at least two or three gens done, at minimum.

Frankly I wish everyone stopped acting like persecuted victims over a video game.

    EvilSerje Member Posts: 1,070

Please, don't shift it to immaturity or foolishness of people.

I spent and invested much time in this game, I care for it, I like it. But it is sad to see how onesided it become over and over. Am I victim? Nope, I'd completely move to other games, because it's just a videogame, no biggie. But that doesn't prohibit me to not caring about that game at the moment.

We were all prestiged multiple times and we did good looping but it was never enough, killer was too overpowered.

  • maybelawliet
    maybelawliet Member Posts: 25

Yes I do this too, and it’s kinda confusing as to why survivors get a crumb of blood points from matches and killers can get 70k+ in one match

  • Crowman

If you do want to screen record gameplay off the switch, you just need to get a capture card. Depending on the card you either can record via software for the capture card or through OBS.

I've been in a couple of games like this today. I was the killer.

I've been as polite as I could in the chat but, the truth is, in both matches only one of my opponents was decent. The three others were too easy to predict. I could have killed them with an M1 and no perks.

When the difference of strength is so big, it can only be explained by a skill gap or extremely bad luck. Being AFK works too.

  • IWasLrft2Die
    IWasLrft2Die Member Posts: 389

I totally forgot people on switch played tbh haha.

Anyways, I wouldn't necessarily say a killer wrecking your team is indicative of killers being OP. Sometimes you still get outplayed badly even if you've played the game a lot (I do still and have played both sides a lot for years). Certain killers I tend to think are OP (primarily nurse and blight). Sometimes even a killer who is doing poorly can exploit a single error your tram males to have a domino effects. That's hoe I got 2 back to back 4ks as nurse today despite never playing nurse and playing poorly lol

Disagree. In my experience games are usually a blowout one way or the other. It's very, very rare for a game to feel like it was a hard fought victory or loss. It's very rare to have a 'good game'. Usually the killer stomps or gets stomped. I almost never see a game where people are just starting to die right before the escapes.

  • Thusly_Boned
    Thusly_Boned Member Posts: 2,978

I play tons of solo queue, and games like that happen, but are rare. Like once every 2-3 weeks I'll see a rinsing like that. And it's usually a Nurse or Blight. 5 gen domination like that isn't common unless the survs are total potato sprouts or throwing the game.

Even when I get teamed with bad players, or the killer is just sweaty af, at least 2-3 gens are getting done 90% of the time.

OP says most of their games are like that. Unless they are playing as part of a SWF that throws games intentionally, I'm calling BS.

While I agree that the game is killer-sided, there's a 0 percent chance that 8 hooks at 5 gens is a frequent scenario unless you're starting a new account every day or you play Nurse and you count people disconnecting after your first blink as 3 hooks.

  • Caiman
    Caiman Member Posts: 2,959

8 hooks at 5 gens means you either weren't good at looping or you were good at looping but none of you did gens.

    Both are bad.
