The survivor experience thus far

Decided to switch from killer and get some survivor perspective on this new update.

We’ve (3 man) got a little escape streak going. Mostly because mannnnn gens are flying without much viable slowdown to fight. Killers have mostly been decent, but they just can’t keep up with the gen pressure.

What’s been yalls experience? What builds have y’all been running successfully?

My build has been DH, BL, Adren, resil and it’s been pretty nice.

I haven't been playing much lately but I think when I get back into it I'll try We'll Make It, Bond, Resilience, and Lithe or SB.

My build hasn't changed much. Except I've swapped out DH for lithe. Should've done it before tbh, I'm so bad at DH triggers but lithe is so much more reliable.

I have noticed less slowdown so that's nice. Be interesting if we get to see if it affects killrates.

Yeah I'm not surprised. I feel like it's the best perk to stop a potential snowball from happening with the nerfs, so I'll do my part and bring it lol

Everygame has been free except for one game vs a demo where all of us were trolling. My build is SB, BT, we'll make it and windows.

I haven't changed my survivor build through the patch as it was not affected.

I've pretty much always used We'll Make It, I pair it with Aftercare for some nice coordination with my solo and swf teammates. My other perks were Lightweight and Windows. I don't typically bring items if my teammates do.

I've played 5 games yesterday with 2 other friends, we were playing chill as usual and got one 0K, one 1K, two 3K and a 4K.

We weren't against the best killers, compared to our last sessions, so it was nice escaping a little bit more. It felt like we had a solid chance if we didn't mess up too much, which was appreciated.

Pretty much everyone I met (the solos and killers) was super chill and we had some very cute endgame chats.

I'm obviously biased since 2 of the 3 other survivor spots were my swf's builds, but I didn't see any Dh or CoH, no toolboxes (mostly medkits and one had a flashlight) and not much gen speed.

I didn't really pay attention to the killers' builds beyond Sloppy or Mangle addons coming up a few times.

Fair. Is it just the traditional solo q experience that’s not going well for you?

My experience been the same as it always been. You play with a decent swf u probably win and anything else u likely to lose. That pretty much why i play killer 80% of the time now . still losing my solo q matches (don't feel any different) and to no suprise I'm still winning most of my killer games. Every update i like to go back in for a good 20 games to see is it playable without my team behind me.

I only play survivor if I got a SWF on. Otherwise I’m strictly on killer. I can’t do solo q. Lol

What lunatic would send themselves into solo q over playing some fun games of killer and swf

Been running Nurses calling, Lethal pursuit, no where to hide and the last is whatever I feel is needed. Changing no where to hide with BBQ and chilly every now and then. the gen regression nerf hasn't affected my go to builds and with my normal choice of killers/loadout I will always struggle with big maps. I am happy to see that the free heals are gone, making games quicker (for better or worse) and seeing other builds in place like some locker builds I've been seeing a lot.

I exclusively play SoloQ. It's been about the same, with a few less Circles of Healing around. Business as usual.

For once I played a bunch of survivor on patch day and this perk was saving tons of time. I use it because I hate when survivors try to use it against me.

But I tunnel so that people don't get to heal often.

As a killer and a survivor. I would like to give my opinion on my games since dead hard got nerf and slowdown gen

As a survivor I barely played with dead hard. Don't really like the perk, annyoing, not fun to use at all. My game don't feel different at all.

As a killer, it's way less stressful, I'm not scared of chasing survivor anymore. And as for the slowdown, I don't use them much in general (kicking gens takes too much time) so no big difference.

Overall : I think the game is going where it should always has been (my opinion though)

Played one game as Knight last night ir his map, and won in less than 7 minutes. After 2 hooks, they all gave up and wanted me to farm. Felt like a survivor strike.

Solo survivor wasn't too bad. Had a Leon kept fast vaulting near me and trying to fail skill checks. We got beat by Wraith on RPD fairly convincingly (2 gens left)

I agree, but I feel this update makes SWF even stronger yet, in my own opinion from what I’ve seen so far.

Hasn't really changed much for me. I either get teammates who are completely out of place and automatically lose, or matchmaking is good and we get at least 2 out. It's so exceedingly rare to get a good match all around with a good killer vs 4 good survivors that leads to a balanced result. Someone is always out of place on one side or the other and it's a complete stomp in one direction or the other. The killer gets 3 hooks the entire game and 0 kills or a teammate doesn't have their monitor turned on and is somehow dead at 4 gens.

Build is the same as always: Sprint/Adrenaline/Prove/BT

It's only been one day, but it's been business as usual for me on the surv side. My typical build over the last few months is unchanged (Distortion/Lithe/Q&Q/Adrenaline). I did drop my usual OP green medkit for toolboxes in yesterday's matches.

Again, small sample size, but the killers seemed sweatier yesterday, maybe because they realize they have no gen defense.

I'm going to have to sort out my killer builds, though. CoB/Overcharge/Nowhere to Hide were entrenched on most of my killer builds, and two of those are dead, and the third synergized with them.

It's been hell for me as killer. I'm seeing 1-2 BNPS each game along with PTS, Resilience, and Hyperfocused/overzealous. It's so obnoxious. I finish 1 chase as trapper and there are 2 gens left.

This is exactly what i felt like yesterday. Solo queue isnt worth it at the moment, since a lot of killers seemed to be determint to tunnel and camp as hard as they can, and solo queue got even worse. Just like last time, and like last time, i think it will ease down in about 2 weeks, but i think i stick to killer for the time being.

  • sulaiman
    sulaiman Member Posts: 3,219

True, thats why killer will still ask for more nerfs because they still cant keep up with swf.

  • FatallyIconic

Solo play is almost unplayable currently. I understand why medkits and CoH were nerfed; they were too powerful in the right hands, but they made solo queue bearable with all the rampant tunnelling. Today, I played against three skull merchants back-to-back, and all of them camped and tunnelled while trying to control three gens. During one of these games, I saw multiple people self-caring with Medkits, even though the killer had Sloppy Butcher. Hopefully, people realize that Toolboxes are now the way to go, but currently, people are wasting time doing 30-second heals with their medkits.

It also raises the question of why I'm being matched with survivors who have less than 100 hours while I have 4k hours in the game, and the killer is somewhere in between. But that's a different topic altogether.

I’m seeing a lot of we’ll make it, and some CoH still, so we’ve basically gone from problematically fast self heals to problematically fast altruistic heals.

  • FatallyIconic
    FatallyIconic Member Posts: 270

We'll make it isn't that useful if the killer comes straight back to the hook, which quite often happens.

  • JudithMorel
    JudithMorel Member Posts: 562

killer main, decides to come here and complain about survivors being too strong (false) to start a torch & pitchfork riot to get more survivor nerfs started. Nothing to see here folks, just another killer main pretending survivor is a breeze.

  • Coffeecrashing
    Coffeecrashing Member Posts: 3,790

It activates for 90 seconds, so if the killer is proxy camping then the survivors can just go somewhere else, and still get an 8 second heal. And they can just pick a sport between the hook, and whatever generator they want to repair, so they aren't losing time by moving away from the hook.

Good luck using that when the killer tunnels the survivor you just unhooked. Not to mention sloppy being everywhere now, so the healing will just regress if you try any tricks to heal them mid-chase.

If the killer chases you instead, it's very unlikely you'll still have the 90 seconds left. Unless of course the killer leave you before then, and you find that 1 specific survivor in-time. It's very situational. Botany is a much better option because its way more reliable.

    Hannacia Member Posts: 1,323

My survivor experience is exactly the same it was before the patch. My build Adrealine, Sprint Burst We'll Make it and Reassurance still works just fine. I can still heal myself 2 times per match and i heal my teammates fast with we'll make it.

Not sure why survivors are crying about the "nerfs" they got when they don't even have to switch perks for new meta

Killers on the otherhands.... Well thats a different story.

    H2H Member Posts: 753

Easy peasy. Maps are still gigantic, gen regression is dead, and there enough safe pallets for anyone to run a killer for 2-3 gens.

    Survivor is a cakewalk.

There does seem to be a new bug where fast vaulting some windows results in me kind of stuttering/stopping for a split second that has allowed some killers to get hits they wouldn’t have otherwise. But it’s not every window, and I’m sure it’ll get fixed. Not very consequential but something I noticed yesterday.
