Killer you recommend on console?

I've been playing for years and I have fluctuated between killers over the years but I'm wanting to really nail down someone more consistent. I know some killers aren't worth investing in since I'm on console.

Who would you recommend I pick up or use more?

Currently use a lot- nemesis, doctor, pig, myers, Trapper

Used a lot before- wraith, clown, bubba, pyramid head

With the recent patch Wraith is much more viable now, and very playable on console. The hit & run playstyle is doable again now, and he excels at it. Trapper is slightly buffed if you run his disarm-injure add-on, but well he is still Trapper. I've seen very good Blights on console, however they are somewhat inconsistent and will take huge amounts of practice to "git gud" with. I have yet to see a very good console nurse. The other killers you mention play pretty much the same regardless of platform.

The only killers that are less effective on console are the ranged killers in general, with Trickster being the absolute biggest offender. All killers on console suffer from the fps drops and micro-freezes that are another feature of DBD, and the limitations of the controller itself. It is less of a problem when playing surv.

Since this last update, I've used a variety of killers and had success with all of them on console. T1 Myers and Ghost Face are favorite for jump scares. Twins were surprisingly easy to get 4k with. Haven't used Knight or skull merchant yet. Really the only 2 I struggle with are Nurse - bc of blinks and Dredge. I just don't care for him as killer or survivor.

    I play on PS5:

Wraith is still pretty good. Hit and run is really working for him.

Legion works same as wraith. Hit and run. Mending. Slowdowns. Pretty easy to use.

Hag will take a little practice. More of a strategic killer. Like a spider build a web and take them down in the web. If they run outside your area of control let them.

Ghostface again pretty standard. Stealth hit and run killer. Catch them when they’re not paying attention. Really practice the marking from corners.

Wesker can apply a ton of pressure and is quite agile. Little tricky with the controller but I find once you realize where and how you can use your ability should start to enjoy him.

Demo. I just love hit utility and how “fast” his shred is. Once you learn the mind games demo is truly a monster.

I’m a Twins main prestige near 50, so, yeah.. Twins.

My faves before her stew Hag, Doctor, gunslinger and Billy.

on console I avoid and killer that requires précis aiming like huntress. Would LOVE to play huntress but she’s horrible on console. Too bad I stopped playing on pc

Oni and Spirit are pretty easy on console.

Spirit. Although, the only really unplayable killer on controller is kpop dude.

    Blight.

Many will say to stay away from him on console, but with some practice you can be pretty nasty on controller.

Dredge. The Dredge is just so much fun on console, or at least I found it to be.

Otherwise, Wraith is an nice, easy pick. Oni is tricky at first, but rewarding once you get used to him and learn. The Artist is also a good choice.

Artist Is decent if you wanted a potential ranged option, her dire crow hitbox is pretty generous in comparison to the other ranged killer hitbox precision for console.

Trickster seems like he would be pretty easy to play on console. I’m play on PC though

Don’t listen to Pulsar OP. Trickster is the way to go on console, you’ll have tons of fun and get plenty of 4Ks

The recoil for trickster makes him very hard for console players.

Absolutely not that killer has earned the fabled "unplayable" crown hands down.

Oni is the easy pick of mobilty killers on console.

Knight is good fun and console friendly. If you do well as Knight, you might aswell play Spirit.

Try them all out v bots on custom matches. I found Blight and nurse horrendous on console, plus was useless as Billy. Oni feels like a Lotus Elise compared to Billy 😅

I would say don't let being on console stop you from learning all of the Killers

Huntress- you don't need to hit every hatchet you throw... you can stop a Survivor from going where they want or making them hesitate getting you a hit

Blight- may be a hard one to sell... since I haven't played him enough

    Trickster- same as Blight

Oni- is good enough... but I don't have a lot of experience

    Hillbilly- Same as Oni

But the ones that you play and have played are good though

    Deathslinger has intrigued me

  • Member Posts: 5,605

Then play him... nothing's stopping you... unless you haven't bought him yet

  • Member Posts: 389

Oh yeah I have everyone. I wasn't sure if he was unbearable on console or not

Pretty much avoid the projectile killers on console, if you're trying to narrow things down. Especially Trickster, as others have already noted. Because I am obstinate, I have managed to get to a decent state with Huntress, but the controller is really limiting. Same with Slinger.

I even avoid Oni and other killers who at least somewhat rely on flicks. Also kinda limited on controller.

Maybe at some point we'll get some more controller options/settings, but for now it can really be a hindrance with some killers.

Well... it's more like his power is kindof hard for all.... But there are uses to his power

Just like huntress you can bait Survivors to go a different way or have them hesitate

It's not like you need to land every shot... just bring a reloading addon

Yeah I tried a few games as deathslinger. Got all 4ks so I'm pretty happy but I do miss a lot. I think my general know how for killer is what carried me rather than deathslinger himself. It will likely take some practice though

Just go forth and do what you can...

Having general Killer skill does seem like enough but getting used to his power is something else

    Good luck
