Anonymous mode on Xbox
Why was this taken away? I have it switched on because I can't be bothererd with abuse when playing killer.
Last night I went against a TTV and had an AWFUL game and went into the stream after with the intention of saying gg etc, as it turned out, the streamer was calling out my name and being abusive about me.
As it so happens, I am also a streamer and am fairly well known around the smaller communities of twitch and people knew who I was because this streamer was able to see my name and call it out.
Was this not put in place for protection? Very disappointing to be honest.

No, it was never on Xbox and isn't able to be added, apparently.

It doesn’t work. They will still know who you are

6.7.0 Patch Notes
Misc
Anonymous Mode is now available on consoles.
It was in the patchnotes. Maybe a mistake and not working, but was listed.

Pretty sure I remember a post with them saying they couldn't add it on Xbox.
They never said it was on Xbox, "Consoles" could just as easily mean PS4, PS5 and Switch.
They can't override system requirements. Xbox requires that your gamertag be visible, I think.

This is what's confusing though, there was a time where it was active and did work as I used it

Apologies for the confusion on the patch notes. The console systems referred to on the Patch Notes are for Playstation and I believe Switch. Unfortunately Xbox is not included with Anonymous Mode.

That would be during the fall when it was added by mistake, iirc.
It also didn't really work, as you would still show up in the Recently Played With list.

This makes sense, I do remember still getting messages and I asked someone how they found me and they told me that they were able to go into their recently played with

Thank you for this,
Will there ever be a chance of it coming to Xbox or is this something Xbox themselves need to look at, as I don't want to have to put up with stuff like this? It's a little disheartening.

I know before they said they couldn’t do it because they cannot circumvent console rules by home companies. Sony and PlayStation do not allow gamer tag concealment (for reports of abuse), so DBD cannot override that.
