The uprise in cheating is nothing to scoff at

I'm seeing cheaters 9 out of 10 of my matches after the patch hit dbd. I see survivors flying while in dying state, self caring while in dying state (don't confuse this with recovering), and other things. I see less killers doing this but survivors are literally killing this game.

9 out of 10 games? You mean the last 10 games or in general? If it is in general, I am sorry, that is very unbeliveable for me.

Either way, you might be very unlucky. I don't rememeber the last time I saw obvious cheater I think. It was worse few months back.

I'm dead serious. It's happening more than ever before 6.7.0 there was like a few cheaters here and there but now it's in abundance. I'm getting sick and tired of it.

That will always happen when the game is unbalanced. Certain crowd is gonna think they are justified in using cheats because the other side has it better or something. This patch was pretty controversial so more people who want to play the game will resort to cheating. Sometimes they don't actually need external programs, BHVR themselves give them tools to cheat, like Merciless Storm being bugged until last patch.

I think you're lying, but even if you aren't, nothing about that experience is typical. In my 3000 hours I've seen a cheater in 2 games. Total. Ever.

I have a hard time to believe this.

True, there are many. There are also public numbers. In 2022 alone, 64,000 cheater/hackers were banned.

However, there is no real protection against cheaters in DBD. Many who use cheats mostly do so subtly as the chances of getting banned are very unlikely and it becomes even more difficult if you set your profile to incognito or simply use a "console emulator" as a platform, for example .

It would be really nice if BHVR would actively work on a solution here. The possibilities are there, there is ricochet for Call of Duty, Vanguard for Valorant and something useful could also be developed for Dead by Daylight. The problem is always, it's about the money. And since there is not really much to get here, unfortunately nothing will change here in the near future. It is a pity.

Other than that, BHVR is doing a tremendously good job, especially over the past few months as they listen more and more to the community. The balancing between killer and survivor, the music and cinematics are top notch, here the team delivers an outstanding performance. You can't please everyone in this community, but they do it really well.

Since it's a good fit because it happened about an hour ago, here's one of the cheaters who made it a little more obvious that something is wrong. He also has a console icon again and since there is no reasonable way to report these players, the number of them will unfortunately increase.

meanwhile it is quite normal to have a cheater in a longer game session (8h).

9 out of 10 is not believable. Sounds like exaggeration.

I do agree cheaters are a problem and should be punished severely but I've seen maybe 3 in all my time playing. About 30 days play time.

Regardless of the killer survivor, if there is an anonymous player or a player with a ban history in the same lobby, leave the room. This alone can greatly reduce the chances of you playing a game with a cheater. Conversely, if you neglect them, you will encounter players who use cheats quite often, so it's not an exaggeration to say that I was matched with a cheater at 9/10.
