Hi guys,

Any advice on how to play effectively against a SM that just does not chase and guards her 3 gen set up constantly? Those games are painful & last WAYYYYYY too long.

Thanks in advance 💜

The only way to break it at start of game. You have to make last 3 gens is very fay away from each other. But then SM will defend their 3 gens from start of game.

There is actually no good counter for it. You just need to do gens, get hit, leave area, heal, come back. The only way is making her give up and chase someone to down.

TBH,i think you should repair all the other gen first before you touch the 3 gen.

SM will protect her 3 gen anyway.

You should repair the other gen first,if she give up 3 gen and go for player, then you can go and break the 3 gen.

If she keep protect her 3 gen, she need to face 0 hook four gens.

You should win easily since she can't really chasing you in this moment.

Yeah but problem is , this games takes forever to finish. Yeah she has 0 hooks and 4 gens finished. But she can hold last 3 gens longer than 30 minutes. This is very boring and unhealthy gameplay design. She should be reworked.

    How?

She can only has 4 drove after nerf, which means that you can just hack her drove to make her become a Normal m1 killer who has 2 token of don't play your food.

And with COB, overcharge and PR nerf, she has no tool to slow down the gen.

Just play safty, run away when she come and go back when she leaves, the default regression are far from enough for her to stop the gen especially, you have 4 people.

Or you can even just ignore the drove, like you play against plague, just play safty run away when she comes, she can't afford chasing a shift W in that moment.

Try to coordinate with your solo teammates to hack drones at the same time to deny her exposed

Other than that though you basically can’t assuming she has decent regression perks

You need to turbo destroy the 3 gen, so SWF and perks like Deja vu and Prove can help. Also remember that when the drones are inactive they can't spot you through walls, this way you can work on a gen and not disable the drone. So you need to turbo out important gens that are close and only remove drones if they are really necessary. Also remember to never leave the drone while you are hacking it because you get exposed, just take the hit and use the speed boost to leave if she ambushes you.

But honestly there is no satisfaction from this so honestly i just decide that the killer can get a free win so i get to the next game.

Thankfully SM isn't very popular, but she is the worst in terms of fun to face.

Again, you can do things to make it possible and win, but i will gladly loose so i can get out that match faster and face a more fun killer

If they don't chase then the team can litterally tap the gens to victory.

Here's a visual aid to illustrate why it's difficult. The red area is the 3 gen area that the Skull Merchant will never leave for the duration of the match. The white area is the area where all of the other gens are. The Skull Merchant will never enter the white area and will never leave the red area.

The best way to counter it is to be in a full SWF and stack Potential Energy and Prove Thyself. Farm Potential Energy tokens in the white area and dump them onto gens in the red area all at once. She'll never realize what's happening because she can't see anything in the white area. Skull Merchant cannot cross the electric fence barrier of the red area. Their game uninstalls itself. Take advantage of this mechanic.

For every solo queue Skull Merchant game I've had, at a certain point she gets just as bored as the survs and chases somebody. Then you hit those gens. The only real way to crack her besides that is great coordination (From my experience)

Unless survivors stack 80 token of Potential Energy, just for SM just about to leave a target Gen, then 4 survivors complete it before she can return to that Gen, then yes, it work.

After that, a Gen can completed before SM can make a 3 Gens patrol rotation will lead to Gen speed complaining.

She has a 3 Gens target

By coordination and hard work for Solo, they're able to complete 1 of them. Guess what?

    SM targets another 3 Gens : )))

I've been doing a pre-counter by not queuing up for solo queue. This avoids the need for this 3 gen Skull Merchant counter. Two steps ahead.

I just commit to a gen. Either it gets done or I'm killed and off to the next match. I'm not wasting 40 minutes in a match because the killer decided to 3 gen from the start.

4 survivors progression 16 times faster than the killer, just repair different generators, or take potential energy and destroy 3 genes

fyi. If Skully insists on the three gen she will hold a three gen. It doesn't matter which other gens you do; if she just never leaves her designated gen zone she doesn't.

As far as a strat is concerned: Comms, patience and time. Then either Prove/Potential Energy/Overzealous or alternatively one or two good toolboxes you keep until a gen is commit-able. That's about it. Split up in groups of two and pressure the two of the three gens that are the furthest away from each other.

That being said, I ain't having the time for that sh* and rather spend my time playing matches that have actual engagement.

If you are in Solo Q, you basically need really good teamates, a BNP, and PE stacked up. Its possible, but extremely unlikely that you can finish said generator. If you have 2 people, with that build, you should be able to break the 3-gen extremely easily, as she'll have troible regressing the progress you put into it. Remeber, put the PE in first, so you don't lose it if you get hit.

And even if its not a SM, 3 of your perks are stilll useful, and you can BNP a gen you feel like.

One could argue that Potential Energy is a hard counter to The Skull Merchant
