A very cringe and useless pet peeve
Why do people keep calling dh a 3rd health state? Isn't it a 4th health state? You already have healthy, injured, dying, that's 3. With dh that becomes healthy, injured, deep wound, dying, 4. However to any of you who say 3rd hit instead of 3rd health state, congrats on not being technically wrong I guess :D 🥳

Deep Wounds is a health state between Injured and Dying,.
Mending puts you back to Injured state.
Not Mending puts you into dying state.
Endurance effects all put you into the 3rd health state of Deep Wounds.

Because positionally its your 3rd. Healthy > Injured > Dead hard > Dying

Technically, it’d be your third, since the hit that downs you comes after.
People use it as a shorthand for how many hits you can take before going down.
