Sheltered Woods, Boil Over and Hook Placement
Hey all,
I just played a game as trapper on the new Shelter Woods and no matter how hard I tried I could NOT hook anyone who had boil over. The hooks were all too far away. This happened multiple times. So, I'm wondering if others are having similar issues with the map or did I just get the worst RNG possible?

Boil over to me just puts a big flashing neon "Please Slug Me" sign above the survivors head, especially if they purposely run to places where they know you can't hook them.

Yes, I get this. But doesn't really answer my question.

Not able to hook anyone is a bit extreme. Were they running the offerings to also space out the hooks?

Nope, there was no offering that would effect hooks.

I've had this on a few maps even without boil over.
The ones that come to mind are lerys second floor area and (I might have the name wrong) red forest with the church looking building in the center that has a basement (not the basement) in it.
I'm a fan of doing aometh9ng about h9oks. Either add a couple to most maps or don't have hook disappear after sacrifice.
Having survivors go to an area that they know you can't reach a hook (not the typical sabitage situations which is torally fine) is just not fun gameplay. Having to slug people in a corner of the map gets boring both as survivor and killer.

good, boil over is a pretty weak perk, it is nice to get some use out of it

Then I'd go bad luck on RNG. Shelter Woods is a tough map to encounter it with, it's really easy to miss a nearby hook without the highlight, and there are lots of bushes/trees you can get wiggled into.
I usually run some form of Iron Grasp/Agitation on Trapper, but generally speaking if I don't have those and I think Boil Over is in play, I always find the hook I want to take the survivor to before the pick up. If I don't see one in a comfortable range, I move on.

Slug them and bleed them out. While they're slugged, find the weak link and tunnel them out. It'll buy you more time to bleed out the boiled over user.

Truth.
