I feel like killers take things wayyy to personal
I feel like a lot of killers in this game kinda take things too personal
I got a flashlight save so the killer proceeds to tunnel me and then face camp me out of the game
but luckily the 3 other survivors got out so...I don't know what I did to make them upset like that lol
and no this wasn't the a one time thing this actually happens a few games I get

I can't speak for others, but here's how I see it:
Killer probably seen it as a form of attack and responded with aggression. Some people are delicate that way.
I see flashlight saves as a part of the game, same with pallet stuns etc. If it happens it's fair, I expect survs to defend themselves and honestly it spices things up. For me the problem starts when survs try to bully. At that point the gloves are off - if someone wants to play dirty I respond in kind and I will use any legal mechanics to win.

Making a remark doesn't mean taking it personally. Nor does facecamping/tunnelling mean taking it personally.
OP is likely noticing that Killers get more aggressive when survivors do normal plays that they take offense over. It does happen, I can safely say I've had over ten games where I got slugged to death because I Head-On'd a killer. Some of them probably took it personally, some others may have wanted pressure that they lost after eating the flashy. But I have no doubt both are valid, because let's face it a lot of people that play this game are pretty damn delicate.

Lots of players take things personally, for a variety of different reasons--good and bad.
That said, I don't necessarily believe that in-game retaliation is "taking it personal."
Lets say for example that you tbag a ghostface every time you drop a pallet on his head. If he then over-commits to a chase on you and tbags upon downing you, he's just matching your energy. It doesn't actually need to be personal for GF. The fact that they "over-committed" to the chase speaks larger volumes about your skill (and perhaps their misplays) than it does their personal motives.
It might feel personal, but it might also just be a course of action they believe will be most entertaining or beneficial to their strategy.

I feel you take this way to personal.
If you think about it the killer don't want to down survivors with you hanging around so makes perfect sense killing you first.

Yeah some do and yes its stupid, but if you rlly had a balanced game the one flashlight save is a lose for the killer

I believe we all have our triggers when it comes to gameplay. Mine are bodyblocking to an extend and sabotage. I hate when someone sabotages me to the extend that I'll remove said player as soon as possible. It can be rationalised that it is for game efficiency but truly it's purely emotional. Getting sabo'd feels like you're about to dig in in your plate and someone comes in and vomit all over it. It's sickening. But it's a me problem.
Also I run Lightborne on everyone so flashlights are my friends.

I actually agree. "I face camped him because he used Lithe" is the actual wording from a game I played the other day. I mean lithe? Are killers complaining about that now that DH is dead? Are survivors meant to just take it on the chin? 😂 They're getting as bad as some survivors for their s*it.

Jokes' on you I can lose the game all by my incompetent self. Ha. Gottem.

At what stage of the match did this happen? You are saying all others successfully escaped. He needed to tunnel and camp you to have at least one kill as you guys were probably doing gens fast. You have experienced a typical match of the current DbD scene.

I mean the killer lost the game for doing that, so I'm not really sure why you're complaining. That said I'll happily admit that there have been times that a particular survivor really annoyed me so I made it my job to kill that person even if the other three end up getting out. If they end up being really good and it takes me the whole rest of the game to get em so the others escape then they should be happy, surely.

If the killer ignored you and chased someone else, you might have gotten more flashlight saves.
1 -
I know, that's totally true.
It's not like I don't get angry in some games. I once removed Ace out of the match cause he walked backwards in a silly suit too much.

As long they don't show their intensions in endgame chat you never know if it was personal or not.
Most of the time they just want to win, same as survivors. Projection is a big thing in DBD.

Yea you deserved it,if it was a spirit, blight or nurse it was probably me 😂😜

I like it when you guys run Lightborn. It means a lot of games, you get to run 3 perks the entire game

There's a few reasons it could be that killers will sometimes do this:
1. The player is just a nob and easily upset.
2. The player had a tactic of getting a survivor out quickly, and it just so happens the first guy hooked is that target.
3. The player may have had some horrid games before this and that flashlight was the straw that broke his back.
4. The player has had a bad day. Maybe something small like they were asked to wash up and they didn't want tk, but also something big like a family member in hospital. The game is their stress release.
It's not always clear why some do it. Factors both within the game and outside of the game could cause it. Eitherway, that's not helpful to you, I appreciate. It's just worth stating some reasons.

Yeah right

Actually the number of flashbangs and mines alone makes it worthwhile. That and the look of the survivor who doesn't understand what's happening. Priceless.

Well at least they're being emotionally accurate... ever seen a horror film were the person gets away? Yeah, the killer's pissed.

I love running Lightborn, seeing a SWF queue in with flashlights, and then all hook-ragequit when they can't bully me.
Hook-DCing needs to go. These toxic scrubs need to be forced to stay on that hook for 2 minutes, since they were trying to bully the Killer and their plan backfired.

Tbf, those moments are ******* hilarious. Lots of things make me ugly chuckle

All hail to our lord and saviour Lightborn 😎

With the current state of the game, Franklins is so much better than Lightborn. Not only are blinds minimized, healing through Med Kits is too!
Bonus points for stealth killers since they can hide near the dropped item and wait for you to lower your guard and come back to it.

I always suspect Frankie's so I usually stash my item away for later use with Built to Last.

Idk, so just baby survivors? If survivors continually do it and not realize you have it, they really aren't good survivors.
I kinda laugh when they dont hit because of lightborn and when I don't see the light thin I go back on generators full time and stop using it at chase (which using them in chase is a detriment), and just stop going for flashbangs or blast mines.

T-bag after successful looping fair play.
T-bag at first pallet? What have you actually achieved to warrant the T-bag?
Oh, you ran to a pallet and dropped it. Let me applaud such gaming skill.
I appreciate good pallet stuns as very successful tactic against a lot of killers but on the whole i really don't care if I win or lose.
It's a video game at the end of the day and for goodness sake don't take it personally you'll never meet the person in your daily life so let it go.

You can say that again. I got hit by a killer to try and help a survivor out of their grasp, didn't work so I hid inside the killer, the killer left to look for me and at that point I decided to rescue the survivor.
I don't know why, but this Doctor just started nodding at me when he downed me, then hit me on hook every time he was nearby.
When he downed the last survivor (which was not the person I rescued, so it wasn't an issue with him thinking I was "farming" that survivor), he slugged him and then went off to find me. He killed me, then smacked my body a couple more times, then proceeded to farm with this last survivor.
I still don't know what I did to deserve that. He just randomly got angry at me and decided to just worsen my day because of it.

Well, Tunneling is a good strategie for killers, so maybe you should not take it so personal if it happens to you.

Downing and hooking Survivors is challenging enough without losing them to flashlight saves. There is zero relaxation as Killer, no chilling on a gen while you know your teammate is being chased.
Every chase is frantic race against time where you need to consider where the chased Survivor is running to and what the others are doing. To do all that to get a down and lose it is an incredibly frustrating experience. So yes, the Killer is probably going to be upset and if you want to flashlight save, don’t be surprised if you get their undivided attention.
You played how you wanted to within what is allowable in the game, don’t be upset when it is their turn.
1 -
It's not killers, it's players in general.
1 -
Truthfully it’s more frequent in killers. In the past, it was definitely survivors.

If you post this than you take that to personal, that you got tunneled.

Nope.
