Killer's auras perk, ruined the game.

I like Dead by Daylight very much, I like the emotional expression of this game, it presents the classic horror movie bridge for the player, and it is interactive, the player needs to hide intermittently, observe the killer, feel the heartbeat, this is exactly the video game The great thing about this interactive art.

But, until I met survivor auras. The killer can see the survivor auras, which completely breaks the logic of a horror game or killer movie. This leaves survivors feeling hopeless, as there seems to be no time when their privacy can be assured.

For example, as a survivor, you follow a killer who is kidnapping other survivors. You have to follow it and rescue your teammates. This should be an unforgettable moment in horror games, killer movies, or real logic. This is definitely an excellent strategy. I think this is also the initial vision and core experience of the game Dead by Daylight. But it was destroyed because of a killer perk. At this point the killer sees the survivor's auras. Ruins a great horror experience. This is unreasonable in reality logic, because in reality, the survivor did nothing wrong and he should not be discovered by the killer.

This ruins the emotional expression of the game. Turning a horror game into a skill confrontation game similar to moba, if that is the case, why don't I play DOTA2?

Why do I think survivors have no problem seeing the killer's auras? Because survivor auras and killer auras are not equivalent. The survivor's auras are the survivor's only bottom line, the only thing to protect. The equivalent of this is not the killer's auras, but the killer's attack. If the survivor has a lot of perks that the killer can't attack, it will also ruin the killer experience. Make the killer feel fake. Because it doesn't fit the logic of a killer movie.

Survivors should be stealthy but weak. Killers are supposed to be clumsy but powerful. If the survivor's secrecy cannot be guaranteed, this is not a horror game or a stealth game at all, and it contradicts the core experience of Dead by Daylight. If so, why don't I play biochemical infection mode of some FPS?

Note that I'm not discussing balance issues, just discussing the emotion and sense of substitution of a game. In other words, it is a logical self-consistent problem of the game. The core selling point of Dead by Daylight is obviously a game that creates that kind of killer movie, but it has a certain mechanism that destroys this core selling point. Isn’t this a kind of logical inconsistency? And it's not that I don't know that this game will provide thousands of hours of play time, and the game may not be so scary later. But I don’t think that’s the problem. Even if the late game isn’t scary, it doesn’t mean you’re about to break your core.

It's like you have played Counter-Strike for thousands of hours, you definitely don't feel that you are fighting terrorists, but it doesn't mean that Counter-Strike has to add a gun without the slightest recoil, because a gun without the slightest recoil will completely Destroys the core gameplay charm of Counter-Strike.

In the first part you said that aura-reading perks for killers makes survivors feel "hopeless" In horror, is their such thing as Privacy, I understand this is a video game but I believe the aura-reading gives you that sense you being watched, even if the killer isn't there. For me, aura-reading perk are scary, you never know what's going to trigger the perk.

Your first mistake was treating this as a horror game. It isn't. Maybe it was intended to be at first but that's no longer the case and the majority of people who play the game stop treating it as such very quickly even if they came into it thinking that it was.

But even if I take the roleplaying aspect seriously this line "But, until I met survivor auras. The killer can see the survivor auras, which completely breaks the logic of a horror game or killer movie. This leaves survivors feeling hopeless, as there seems to be no time when their privacy can be assured." doesn't make any sense.

Every single classic horror flick has always seen the killers magically able to track and find people with no problem at all. Michael Myers, Freddy, Ghost Face, Jason, ect. All of them always found their targets as if they knew where they were at all times. So if you really want this game to be accurate as a horror movie emulator then the killers would have no terror radius and instead be able to see survivors no matter where they are.

But this game isn't balanced around that. Myers has it through addons but it's also balanced out by slow movement speed.

Also, the movies ARE hopeless. Do you even remember on average how many side characters die through out most horror flicks before the protagonist eggs out a miraculous escape/counter attack? Or how most horror games have it so the character can't even fight back against whatever is after them?

If this was a horror game I would 100% agree but unfortunately it's only horror for the first few times against each killer. After that it's just gen repair simulator or a game of lethal tag. If they would lean into the horror aspect more than sure remove aura reads but also terror radias would have to go as well along with flimsy pallets hurting things like nemesis. I think there is too much they would need to change to actually make this a horror game again.

    So use Distortion...

It's good now, because lot of killers use Nowhere to hide.

So now Aura perks are unfair?

I'm half expecting to see 'The Killer moving with his legs is unfair!' in another month or two.

distortion is one of the better stealth perks on survivor. Recovering tokens is not that difficult and it is very likely that you can block 90% of aura effects in the game apart from very extreme 4 aura reading perk builds or Vanity/Scratch Mirror Myers.
