What would you do?

This situation happens a lot to me,

The killer allows for YOU to escape, he opens the gate for you and is not killing you, however he hates one of your teammates guts and hooks them, m1 hits them and nods. When you get close and attempt to rescue them, the killer signals not to save them (Will most likely kill you too if you try) Would you

1) Attempt to save them

2) Escape and take the win

And what made you pick your choice?

    2)

This game is about repairing and surviving

I will always pick the 7k BPs for escaping than 1k for unaliving

There is a time for altruism and there is a time for selfcaring (no pun intended)

    Most likely 2).

Don't get me wrong. I am very altruistic player and there's a good chance I will try to save even if I there are 2 survivors left (1 hooked and me) where killer camps. Especially if I feel like hooked person did more in a trial then me (meaning he deserves to escape).

But your situation will most likely have a context. It most likely means that hooked person was cheater, or toxic player. If killer was tryharding, he would not let you go. So it's most likely also not a punishment for "good chase" (something weird that some killers just do). Also killer opening the gate for you suggests, that he could have killed you too, so that probably means it's only fair to respect normal outcome of the game + killer's mercy.

However if killer decides to do this, because of just "I need to punish good chaser" - then I will pick 1). But I would need to be sure it's this context.

Yeah I pretty much echo this. Usually I play with friends so I’d know if they did something to warrant that or not. Or if it is solo, it is hard to know if/when something happened or not that illicited that response from the killer.

sometimes I’ve seen killer go for someone just because they were saboed or flashsaved or body blocked by that survivor.

I can’t help altruism (I am a killers dream lol) so usually will help or trade unless I personally have seen that survivor doing something that patently deserved it (unwarranted toxicity).

If I’m iri 1, I generally don’t mind dying for someone else so that may also dictate my action. Usually I’d signal to the killer (as best as I can) that they can have me

I second this. It makes me feel awful.. I’ve died so many times in this game already that one more death is usually worth the price to knowing I didn’t idly stand by watching this kind of scenario where it was totally unwarranted. Even if it’s a basement bubba, I know people say “don’t give them the extra kill” I feel compelled to stand in solidarity (death lol) with the person being camped and bm’d like that and move on.

    It really depend.

I done such things few times (without hitting part, this is reserved only to toxic survs), and it was either for tome challange, like killing specific number of survs, daily to kill using specific killer i dislike and i want to have this daily to be over as fast as possible, roleplay - to kill only obsession, or just this particular surv did something toxic, maybe was to coocky and i wanted to show him, he has to practice more before showing feathers.

I can believe that there are other killers who do those for other purpouses... but i cant imagine why. If its toxicity, then why this killer did this only to this one surv, and more on that - let you escape?

Depends on the situation. If I know someone has been hiding and doing nothing, I'll let them take the kill. I won't however run around helping them look for the person or down me so I can read their aura and all of that nonsense.

If the killer just wants their 1 k on a survivor because they were good at looping, no - not happening.

Not really. If so, then would not open gates, or at least allow for trade.

I've had one match that sounds similar, but a bit different from the scenario. I was up against a Spirit, two teammates were dead, I was on death hook, and Leon hadn't been hooked at all. Spirit eventually found and hooked him. I saved him from first hook, but he soon got hooked again. Spirit followed me to hook. Granted, I didn't notice if she had any great hatred for Leon, so I thought since she didn't put me on my final hook when she had the chance, maybe she'd spare him, too. But when I tried to save, Spirit grabbed me, and Leon died on second hook. Spirit still let me wiggle off and gave hatch though. I'm not sure why she chose to spare me. I have that match saved in my Twitch channel highlights. XD

When I play killer I will mentally pick one survivor that gave me best chase. If said survivor ends up on a hook and gets unhooked, I will give him hatch. If his teammates won't unhook him, I will kill them all. Sometimes (but it's rare) I will hint to standing survivor (after basically winning the chase) to unhook my designated survivor and then kill rescuer (if he does not, everyone dies). So maybe if I was your killer spirit - then this would be the explenation 🙂

At the end of the game if the entire remaining team isn't gonna try and make the save with me then I'm just leaving.

It just isn't worth the risk unless at least three people attempt to make a save at that stage in the game. If the killer is beating on the hooked person it has nothing to do with me, that is a problem for them to work out.

For a moment, I thought your name looked familiar; I had to go check that match to see if it was you. That doesn't appear to be the case, though, unless you use a different name in game?
