LOSING PIPS IS SO RIDICULOUS
bhvr makes all these unneeded changes and cannot recognize how dated and infuriating losing pips is?
I just had a match against a Nurse. 1st person dc's at first down, 2nd person immediately starts killing themselves on hook..i run over to try to prevent it and get downed by the Nurse who was waiting right there. -1.
As SoloQ surivor do you understand how frustrating this is and how hard we work for pips?! Even as killer, it's annoying to depip at no fault of your own. I main killer and play survivor to "relax." I can tell you it's anything but relaxing. It's not fun.
We earn our pips, we should get to keep them once we have them. Bad games should result in a 0 rather than -1. This practice is so ridiculous
. Yes I'm salty, and yes I realize probably no one cares about this...but just the same.

I agree with this. If you don't get a chase because they're too busy camping and tunneling you don't pip, if you're camped and tunneled at 5 gens, you don't pip and will most likely lose a pip, through no fault of your own.
The pipping and bp system is outdated, maybe we'll see improvements to those thing in a few years.

Not arguing whether the mechanic is unfair but out of curiosity why is it so important for you to pip as survivor? Legit question... I'm asking because I usually reach Iri grade without even paying attention to pips, despite losing most of my games. And then my account overflows with BPs anyway. Are you trying to reach P100 or something? I would probably be tilted just as you after a game like this but that would be because of the game itself not because of de-pips.

As someone that has been going for the achievements recently, after ignoring them for 5 years lol, reaching Iri 1 from iri IV was probably one of the most frustrating grinds in the entirety of my playtime of this game. That's one reason it matters. Getting to Iridescent ranks was easy, I agree, but that final haul felt like I had to sacrifice a small child to get a pip. On the opposite end, losing a pip wasn't hard at all. Regardless, I ended up getting it but my god was it annoying.
Another is the bloodpoint reward at the end of the month.

I think xPrinceHarlequinx answered this perfectly. I can reach Iri 4 playing pretty casually as survivor, but the grind from 4-1 is terrible. On the flip side, rank reset is also terrible. To answer your question, I don't have a lot of free time..I have a 1yr old and I really can only play when she's napping/after she goes to sleep at night etc. so my time is limited.
I very selfishly, like to go to red 1 on both Survivor and Killer and feel in general the depip system is unfair. But for whatever reason it bothers me more as Survivor. I think it's because as SoloQ, it truly is terrible. It feels like the killer (obviously) is playing against you, but your teammates are as well. A lot of times losing pips as surv, is at no fault of your own. My MMR is really high as killer, so it requires a lot of time to get to 1. Losing pips on either one is just constantly one step back.
And as a killer, it infuriates me to lose pips to a killer who is playing disgusting. There is no need to camp and tunnel at 5 gens. When two people immediately decide they're not playing the match for whatever reasons, there's no reason to go hard on the two who will depip at no fault of their own at this point. I just think a lot of stress would be avoided if the depip system was removed. Let us have 0 when we don't perform well enough or have matches like this, out of our control. What we earn, we should keep.
The camping/tunneling is a separate issue, but I can't tell you how many times I get +2 and letting the last survivor go did not affect my score in any way.

100% agree! And I really hope they do look at this soon, and potentially make changes.

yep. depipping in iri for survivor is so punishing. i only got to iri 2 because i duo queued with a buddy of mine because i got so exhausted of losing pips every match when i was 1 pip away from going up in grade. you're punished for the killer being a camping bubba so you don't get enough chaser and altruism emblems. you're punished for it being a slugging nurse who just lets you bleed out. i know these are unlikely scenarios, but the fact the KILLER'S PLAYSTYLE decides if you're going to depip or not more than your actions is obnoxious as hell. i feel removing depipping is honestly the best option, i don't even want to bother telling them to make a better system because i don't trust these people.

Depip definetely should be removed I didn't even reach gold on either side because of them and I just stopped playing for pips. I took many 3-4K:s on killer with no pip or even depip. On survivor I depipped even some matches I played well and got maxium what was possible but killer ended snowballing at some point not to mention when you get facecamped/tunneled. Pipping/safety pipping is just out of your control on survivor most of the time sometimes on killer too. Worst part is this mechanic is pointless now as grades only show "playtime" and are not to show skill and do not affect on matchmaking like ranks.

There’s nothing really to aim for in the game, this is a simple target, irrespective of no status and relatively small reward.
what it really shows, is the lack of something in the game to be rewarded by.
