Im so bored right now there’s got to be atleast something to announce for the anniversary!
I’m just going to ramble right now cause I’m bored to death.
I was watching our last Q&A that was a year and 3 months ago and they mentioned the twins rework. We haven’t had anything else are we going to get an update on the twins rework at all?!?!

I've been waitng for myers and Trapper to be buffed for ages....
And I'm curious about what the anniversary chapter will be. I hope we hear something soon

You're not alone! Whether Original or Licensed, I need some teaser or something. And although there are only 3 Twins players (1 of which I faced last night for only my 3rd time), we desperately need their rework. I need some reason to try out Twins again.
And I'm hoping for some kind of license honestly. We've had Original chapters for awhile, and I need a Chucky, Alien, Alan Wake, or any decent chapter to actually get back into DBD hardcore like I was in 2020.

Is it normal for BHVR to keep quiet about the anniversary event, this late into the year? I'm done playing the game, but I'm routinely checking for news, because I am curious to see what they do next.
I thought we would have heard something by now.
I know the anno stream is historically around the end of May. We're rapidly approaching that date, and I've seen nothing about it.
There is zero hype being built around this anniversary.

I'm hopeful for matchmaking improvements for solo survivors. And maybe some kind of leaderboard or loose ranking system. Anything to give vets something to grind for.

I think it’s good they are keeping the lid on things. Builds up anticipation.
Hopefully it’ll be a huge announcement.
But if they are quiet and the next chapter is lackluster and all that, then all hope is lost and abandon ship.
Until then I keep my fingers crossed.

Well, they announced the community cosmetic contest which should indicate that the anniversary stream is soon(tm)? (Though not sure in which temporal relation those were the years before)
otherwise I also do hope they address previous promises and announcements that have not seen the light of day yet (Twins rework, advanced graphic settings ingame as Antialiasing setting was directly confirmed by a dev, console optimization, Nintendo Switch cross progression, etc) - just need updates on all of these and why they take so long.

I'm gonna make a wild(ish) guess and say it will happen next week. I would have thought they would advertise their livestream a few days in advance. We'll see tomorrow, or maybe it won't be held until Wednesday, but I'm thinking they'd need a build-up of sorts.
I can't remember what it was like last year though.

They would need to make some kind of announcement at least a week prior to the stream surely…? Like.. it’s their big live stream, anniversary, etc, they wouldn’t just drop it like that?

Exactly. There's a build up, which leads me to think it would be next week at the earliest. To just throw an announcement on the day would be rather poor advertising.

Considering the last three anniversary streams were all on a Tuesday (May 17th, 2022 <- May 25th, 2021 <- May 26th, 2020), I'd say that it's a safe bet we're going to see this year's stream next Tuesday, which is the 23rd.

Short notice about an anniversary livestream for a game as successful as DBD feels more like negligence.
They could be creating "build up" by teasing images the entire month of May, creating CTA's for fan-art, cosplays, etc., and post weekly reminders about the upcoming live stream.
The silence gives me the impression there is little planned for the livestream, and that it isn't something BHVR feels players should be getting excited for. Why should I tune into the anno stream if BHVR isn't doing everything they can to make sure I know when it is and what it will cover?

Just to make my point a little clearer, when I said "build up" I meant it in reference to previous anniversaries there was a build up of sorts: teasers, images such as you refered to and so on.
If anything, perhaps the anniversary livestream could be even later than we think. Or maybe the silence is somehow a part of this one (albeit I'd question how would that even be a good idea!).

I suspect there’s gonna be something on the 23rd. Teasers would then start this week, and then the announced chapter will be released mid-way June.

Man, I keep refreshing the news section and DBD Twitter in the hopes of seeing anything. I really did hope they'd say something today, but the further past 11 it gets, the less sure I become.

oh... I see what you were saying now. I misread--thought you were saying there is currently a build up, via the silence. You were acknowledging that there is historically a build-up after we receive the announcement.

Well, even if you believed the silence was building hype and anticipation, I'm not really one to tell you wrong.
BHVR might believe the silence will work in their favor, once they actually reveal what it is they've been working on/have planned.

I wouldn't say everyone. Not all of us have given up like you apparently have. I personally think that other than the two latest killers all the other changes they have made have been in positive directions. I look forward more to what balancing and changes they make rather than the new killer.

Yeah I just got off the phone with Bhvr and they told me they were so busy coming up with the next Pig nerf they completely forgot about the anniversary.

Unofficial maybe. Some influencers have marked this and if it is true it's a cool poster! Plus, with the Nicolas Cage reveal (albeit that's for July), this may signal the start of their hype train.
