Taking a break if MM continues as such.
Well, if BHVR is messing with the matchmaking they've def "did a good job so far" :/
I fully admit I'm not a great player, I sit comfortably at Green Ranks just about Purple if I played more & focused on such, but I don't care enough to do so. Yeah Rank means jack #########...except it kinda does when it comes to the type of player you're playing against. Consistently every Red Rank player I've had in my game, has been a toxic and rude type of player. I should not be VS'ing Red Ranks when I just hit Green Rank (haven't played Killer since last reset) and then get a toxic & unfun match that punishes me for nothing.
This match here, was dreadful and deranked which kills morale. I was just wanting some fun to get the last minute chase for my Chase Ritual on Wraith whom I haven't gotten to leveling up and after getting a guy down...he DS's and teabags, then I have to break chase to stop a Gen and get another person down and by the time I hooked them....it was down to 2 gens, they get rescused before I get a chance to go anywhere else, down them and hook them and by the time I did 3 chases and two Hooks the 5 Gens were done. I was left with no choice but to get one kill and sit on it. Which they swarmed the Hook amd ended up trading Survivors with thr DS user Teabagging me at the Exit Gate. I've had enough of these type of players in this ######### community.
With no real Perks or add-ons and against players better at the game with getting Gens done (whoo-hoo) that are far higher ranked and having my time wasted by DS I can't help but just feel ######### that this is what my casual and fun experience is being turned into

You could switch to survivor aswell.
Usually its the high rank survivors that face a low rank killer (I assume due to a lack of high rank killers), as low rank survivor you should face low rank killers, at least that has been my experience

It should be based more on Devotion than Rank.

I somewhat agree with that in a sense that players with more devotion should be pinned up with other plays with the same or so amount of devotion.
Then again...it would require you to gain a lot of devotion to get up to the bigger leagues, so i'm half and half on this. And other issues can persist that someone can point out on this (Same with benefits.)

I agree totally and I have noticed that if I bring ruin,Noed, or any good add ons the survivors cry and wine but if I bring crap perks and add ons just for fun I get bullied and tea bagged and still ######### talked.....lol, I've come to realize that cool survivors with a good attitude are few and far between. Just the nature of the game dynamic I guess. But the screenshot of your rank and the survivor ranks is insane. Thank God I've never come across that big of a difference yet!

Agreed, I'm casual and usually play enough to sit around Ranks 11-9. But that's me using my main Killers. But even at Ranks 12-9ish I should not be against high end Purples, let alone Red Ranks. Easily 3 of those 4 players were SWF on coms and been at this long enough.
My biggest hurdles and complaints is playing multiplayer/VS games ranking and going against people ahead of me, (semantics on Rank worth aside) it bothers me if it ends up that every game or every other gets to this situation. I'm not a tryhard or wanting to climb, I just want fun matches where I am relatively even on whom I'm going against.
If there was endgame chat I'd fully expect "GG EZ" and other toxic taunts

Having Devotion be a deciding MM factor makes no sense as devotion doesn't mean you're more skilled. Just remove the whole stupid matchmaking, survivors could always abuse it anyways by inviting lowranks and tons of ppl are abusing it by depipping on purpose. The skill disparity between good R1 survivors and very good R1 survivors (and killers) is ridiculously huge anyways because any ape with enough time can reach r1.

You still earned the 2nd highest amount of bloodpoints and you were only using one rank 1 perk. Forget about the rank. It literally means nothing. Bloodpoints earned are the only thing that actually matters. In that regard, I see no problems here.

You either glossed over my OP or willingly disregarding that I literally had no fun this match. Going against a team that was way more skilled at playing Survivor than I could as a Killer for a multitude of reasons amd it has everything to do with the Matchmaking, ergo..the Rank.
I've been playing since DBD was PS+Free, before Spirit was even close to being announced. I have played enough games to get a general gist of how each Rank color plays out. Green and Purple Ranks are where I get enough of a challenge but still have...fun...if you think BP is the determining factor of what makes Matchmaking, you aren't going to understand how unfun this situation was. I'd rather get LESS BP and play at the damn Rank playing field I am supposed to be matched with, and have fun than deal with toxic Red Rankers, which I've stated, have always been toxic whenever I get em in a match.
This doesn't even cover that I deranked back to Yellow as I just ranked up...which shows that new players and semi experienced players are getting matched against players who do know this game in & out, because of how matchmaking is right now. There has been enough evidence showing grey and yellow rank Killers going against such teams. This is a problem that can discourage newer players sticking around with the game.
The only reason I got so much BP here, is that I ended a couple chases fast, got 3 Hooks and one Kill, mostly lucky for getting a person into the basement. And because I'm semi experienced at the game, I can somewhat handle the usual Survivor tactics, but not enough to secure a second kill or put any gen pressure. Which again, if MM is putting lesser experienced Killers against these teams (which people have shown) they aren't going to fair so well, which is a bigger picture that Im trying to point at.

I agree they should do away with ranks all together. It takes 10x longer to get a match once your rank 5 and below than when your 15. If you have several friends you play with and your a 1 and they’re a 15 you get drug into matches with rank 17 killers sometimes anyway even if your not intending to abuse the ranking system and just like playing with your friend. And the killer above talking about toxic survivors I agree with too. When the freaking gate is open just leave why sit there teabagging waiting for the killer to come up behind you to watch you leave like an #########?

I know the match making is ######### but i you said it yourself, rank means nothing. Know what does mean something? Only having 1 perk (basically 0 perks since wraith perks suck), versus survivors who each have 4 perks. You having little experience on a particular killer versus survivors that have ample experience against the same killer = a bad time.

Do not let it get to you. I am lucky enough to have all perks all killers now, but it was a long slog that included plenty of defeats. Focus on earning blood points so you can get all the perks. Try to have fun in the process. I know it can be hard but eventually something will click and you will turn the tables. Be patient and take advantage of their mistakes.

It doesn't bother me much but I'm in red ranks with both.

Wait, what? That’s the worst piece of advice ever.
Focus on getting all the perks you want and only those until you feel comfortable exploring. If you start getting every single perk there is, if a new killers comes out it’s going to be a nightmare getting those perks you actually want. I did that with survivors and I hate it every time I want to lvl one.

That rank 20 killer vs those high ranks thats unfair cause they don't have the perks or add-on to even do any good

I think at this point every player should get all his teachable perks and baseperks rank 1 immediately (only progress your perk levels during leveling, do not unlock the entire perk anymore) and all slots unlocked at level 1, don't make new players suffer to depipping bastards (previous matchmaking) or ppl who outright outgear them (current).

Not denying I was asking for some pain with a level 3 Wraith. My Killers I play on are all level 40s, since Im working on a specified path for teachables and the grind is a cruel Mistress.
But I was just wanting to get Rituals done. Had one for Clown whom I play a fair bit so it wasn't an issue, the other Ritual was for Wraith and since my reoll was used up, I had no other option, getting 45kBPs is too good to pass. My first match for it went against Green and Yellow Ranks, got 2 Kills but it felt fun. Then immediately thrust into, on all accounts, what is described as a coordinated albeit sweaty team. I don't know where that places me as far as "skill" goes to being only a naked M1/R2 Killer and have the outcome I did, but did as much as I could.
Climbing Ranks isn't tough, maintaining them consistently I personally say takes a bit of work tho, which if you stay at higher ranks with few depips/deranks is evident of a higher skill/knowledge of the game (to a degree at least).
I'd at least get a 2k or possibly a 3k if I was playing my Hag or Spirit as they're my mains, but I can't really say. I just know it didn't feel fun or right compared to other games, even ones where I only get 1-2 kill outcomes. Which just gets back to the point that if games aren't matching better/adequately for other players, they also may feel discouraged and play less or not at all. Sure peoole can argue "Git Gud" but It is a videogame and it can be immensely fun, but having the game's system feel slighted against you can change your outlook of said game.
Anyways, just my feedback of the matchmaking atm. Will see if tomorrow is better at least.
