Idea for a new Laboratory map
I have been missing the old Hawkins Lab a lot lately, since it was kinda unique with its design even with all its gameplay problems. I know that we will probably never get it back (although hope dies last), which is why I thought of something similar but new. Now there are 2 possibilities here to do this: either an original design or a map for an already existing (or new) license.
I want to talk about version 2 here, because I think that Resident Evil provides us with a lot of inspiration for this one through Umbrella for example. I mainly think of the lab from the RE2 remake, but I guess one could also use the one from the first RE game too. The main problem would be that these are HUGE, but the Devs already dealt with that on RPD (more or less ideal). I quickly made a tour video of the area I would use from the RE2 lab. Sorry for the weird sound but my recording software seems to mute some aspects for some reason.
This map could be included in the "RPD Badge" offering since both are in Raccoon City. If the lab beneath the Spencer Mansion is more to your liking you could change the icon to the Spencer Family Crest (which is basically the Umbrella logo):
What do you think?

I've always liked the lab from the first RE movie personally. I bet the DBD graphics folks could come up with yet another awesome visual spectacle making that.
But for gameplay and performance issues I loath all indoor maps myself. Perhaps some of the streets of Racoon City could be re-created lovingly by them.

I don't know if they would ever use something from the movies because these are their own thing and many people don't really like them because they have nothing to do with the games.
The City itself could be a map too, since it is featured in RE3.
I don't mind indoor maps as long as they are reasonable playable. Sure if you like to play Nurse, Huntress or Billy (or similar) you usually hate these type of maps, but as someone who used to play Myers a lot a while ago (nowadays I am a Wesker main), I think indoor maps are OK.
The old HNL had the problem that at least 2 Gens were extremely safe (upside-down room and isolation cell) because you needed to go all the way up. If the Survivors left those 2 Gens for last (what they usually did) you were screwed. And sometimes you were "blessed" with at least one other Gen on the catwalks. But other than that, I really liked this map. It had windows and pallets (some too safe) had plenty of places to trigger BL, had cool interactions and a nice size as I remember. It was also one of the better maps for totems and Mirror Myers as you could grab people on gens more easily than on reworked Lèry's.
They would need to fix the old problems with that map (and other indoor maps too) and place semi safe loops in it. Not the window heaven of Lèry's, not the pallet heaven of The Game, but something in-between.
