This falls under my "Things I never thought would happen".
I dont care for Nicolas Cage, but he will probably come with a super-strong Perk to give people an incentive to buy a Survivor-only Paragraph.

Multiple times, mostly in relation to killers as to not glorify those - even something like Jack the Ripper. But I also remember statements from BHVR in regards to requests for famous people as survivors.

That is certainly a stupid choice
Whether it turns out to be Stupidly Brilliant or just Stupid remains to be seen. This feels like the kind of license that could work wonderfully in the right hands.
There's two kinds of companies that make this move. Really confident ones with an artistic vision to make something like this work and desperate companies. I hope I'm wrong and BHVR still has some of that ol razzle dazzle magic left.

"Find out more July" meaning this isn't the anniversary chapter and is instead a paragraph... Meaning they've just overshadowed their entire anniversary chapter (unless it's something massive like Alien). Nice.

My Jack the Ripper description for him as a killer. But its unfinshed.
Jack the Ripper: Weapon Amputation Knife or known as Liston Knife
Lore: There was this boy named Aaron Kosminski who was born September 11, 1865. He was a Polish Jew who emigrated from Koldawa, Congress Poland to England in the 1880s. He worked as a barber in Whitechapel. He was suspected as Jack the Ripper because he had a great hatred of women with strong homicidal tendencies. He killed 11 people, 4 of them were mutilated after death. The other 7 had a slash to the throat. The description of his symptoms was paranoid schizophrenia. He was sent to a mental hospital because he threatened his sister with his knife that he used on others… His last moments in the institute the Entity had taken him and left a decoy in his place. Now he roams the realm looking for more women, so they can be his victims.
Power: Anatomy Knowledge
If he downs a survivor he takes out an organ from the survivor, making them have the “broken” status effect. The survivor can replace it and lose the “broken" status by laying down on an operating table and another survivor puts it back. The operation takes 15 secs to do and the survivor operating on the survivor will be faced with skill checks. An operating table cannot be reused by the survivors. Only 5 tables will spawn within a trial.

think that rule only applies to killers. Having killers based on real people and/or events will likely cause huge problems for BHVR legally and morally stain them in a really bad way. Survivors based on real people though is a different matter, I haven't heard anything and it would be more acceptable than killers based off real people.

For myself - while I applaud the intention to get some mainstream eyeballs and I love Nicholas Cage - I’d prefer to see him portray an NPC and for them to use him as a vehicle to tidy up their messy lore. He could be great doing all the archive narrations going forward and becoming a figurehead for the game in marketing material, but I can’t say I’m especially excited for hooking him personally!

This feels too late to be Aniversary chapter. June 5th is way too late when the game came out mid June if I remember correctly. There is probably no PTB and if it is then the chapter is delayed by few weeks compare to usual.

I'd agree with your sentiment if it was just Nicolas Cage himself being the character.
However this is most likely gonna be no different from Ash, basically It's just gonna be a character with the likeness of Nic Cage, to which i think is fine.

Of course he will have his own Perks. And at least one of them will be very strong and nerfed into the ground sooner or later. Will not be different from Ash or Mikaela.

This doesn’t necessarily need to be Nicolas Cage as Nicolas Cage. It could be Nicolas Cage from a movie, but it’s makes more sense to advertise it as Nicolas Cage, then to give us the character name Nicolas Cage is playing.
It might even be an announcement that Nicolas Cage will be in the upcoming DBD movie, and we aren’t given a character name because that would be a spoiler.

I have, if it does turn out to be Nic himself, i'll stand corrected.
Also i'll say this, if their implementation of him is good enough, i probably won't have as much of a problem with it as i would have if it was just done with no reason given whatsoever.
