The Singularity = Skull Merchant V2?
"The Singularity's power is the ability to spread Biopods around the map, and implant your consciousness into these Biopods. Any survivors caught inside of it's reticle will be infected, allowing The Singularity to teleport to them and attack. An infection can spread to other survivors, inflicting discord and a sense of distrust among the team, and allowing for powerful snowballing."
If I understand this correctly, this is basically like the skull merchant's drone, rather.. you can teleport there instead?? If so, get ready for 1 hour games

Sounds like hag/skull merchant, especially with what little we saw.

Seems more Plague mixed with Hag. Instead of vomit on objects it's the biopods infecting nearby survivors and they can spread it to other survivors. Then instead of Hag teleporting to trap that was set off its Singularity teleporting to Biopod.

I wonder if the killer has to manually control the biopod to aim and shoot survivors. If so, a portion of console players just won't enjoy playing this killer.

Hopefully theres some way to destroy the biopods, otherwise it would seem like another 3 gen killer

Thats true, I wasn't entirely focused on the "Infecting" part, but now that I think about it, it provides for even more powerful 3 gen potential.

EMPs spawn around the map as a new limited item, similar to Wesker/Nemesis, and can be used to disable the biopods before infection.

Well we’ll just have to see how it looks, but based off BHVR’s track record with killer design, I’m assuming that it will be another setup zoning killer.

Good idea to have a limited item to disable them, but if we consider them similar to the skull merchants drones, wouldn't the recharge speed just be way too fast for that to be effective

I don't think it'll be quite as bad. Obviously just going off the description we have so far. What makes Skull Merchant so oppressive in a 3 gen is the mixture of delay+lethality+stealth mixed into one.
Now, if the Singularity can just Hag swing off those teleports and infinitely place those Biopods near gens, yes, we're going to see 30 minute games with Sloppy Butcher.
I have a hard time believing BHVR is dumb enough to power through and release SM 2.0 while at the same time being self-aware enough to not even bring SM up in the anniversary stream. If this is SM 2.0, then they truly, unequivocally do not understand how their game works. I hope that's not the case.

Yeah problem is Sadako and dredge can't choose where they can teleport exactly, unlike killers like the hag, but being able to place those at rapid rates with infection downsides + sloppy butcher will just be annoying.

I would say the EMPs help this issue but i actually didn't know that it was limited. So if killer successfully makes survivors run out of them then yeah they can just be a better skull merchant.. oof.

i honestly dont remember if its limited or like pig boxes/freddy clocks/plague fountains where they just spawn around the map and constantly spit out emps. i just remember dave saying they exist

Depending on how well the Singularity is executed it has the potential to either be quite a fun killer or another Skull Merchant. I'm still excited to actually play the Singularity.
