Incapacitated needs a Rework

The infamous Incapacitated status effect, something that everyone is probably well aware of because of the previous version of Eruption.

And now there's almost nothing that even uses the damn status effect aside from an add-on and a Power ability. And in one of those situations, the add-on's effect is completely useless.

So the entire effect needs a rework to not only be more usable, but healthier for the game. This is what I thought about:

  • Incapacitated now reduces repair speed, exit gate opening speed and totem cleansing speed by 25%.
    • The repair speed effect does not stack with other repair speed penalties.
  • Incapacitated now reduces vaulting speed by 10%.

This would allow the status effect to be more applicable to current or future Perks and add-ons than before without completely gutting it or making the Survivor player experience as miserable as it is with the current one.

The devs decided that Incapacitated was too strong to use on anything except killer powers so that survivors can counter them.

I don't know if it's the right way to go, but I think it's working fine for now.

Anything that allows survivors to work on generators while Incapacitated, even at a reduced rate, is a giant nerf to the Twins that they don't deserve. It'd be catastrophic for a survivor to be able to hold their power hostage and still contribute to the generator repair, it's already pretty bad even knowing that survivor can't be doing gens while holding Victor.

The fact of the matter is, Incapacitated should never have been put on a perk that every killer can use to begin with. It is only appropriate on Twins and on Pinhead, even the Huntress addon is a bad use of it; either the number's high enough for it to be broken or it's low enough to be useless, there's no middle ground. I think it's most useful to remember Incapacitated is not an effect that Twins use, it is The Twins Status Effect, and they also put it on Pinhead because it fit that use case.

Not every status effect needs to be applyable from perks. While Killer instinct isn't a status effect, it also is a killer power only tool. And that's fine.

There's nothing unhealthy about the current forms of incapacitation, because it forces survivors to spend time interacting with a killer power.

It's working fine by not really existing. Only 3 killers have access to it Huntress(with an addon), Twins, and Pinhead. Anything works well when it basically doesn't exist.

It's fine it just needs to stay as a killer power debuff like pinhead chains and victor being on your back.

incapacitated does not need rework. Eruption was survivor's complaining and getting their way on the perk. Incapatiated effect is an debuff version of generator blocking. It reduces repair speed by 100% and healing by 100% by banning you from healing and repairing for limited amount of time.

The fact of the matter is, Incapacitated should never have been put on a perk that every killer can use to begin with.

why? 100% repair speed and 100% healing loss of healing is only as good as duration you give it. Eruption used to be 16 seconds. Nobody used the perk at 16 seconds until they buffed it. the idea that they removed an entire effect from the perk is silly. They need put back the incapacitated effect. Currently they have 10 second of aura reading and it is complete garbage. Just change it back to incapacitated. 10 seconds of slowdown is still 10 second of slowdown.

Incapacitated prevents survivors from doing pretty much anything other than run from the killer and throw pallets down.

    It should not be common.

I'd just make Twins' effect do something like Doctor. No big deal.

Doctor's still can force survivors off a gen even for a few seconds, while still retaining his power.

This could be an idea for a future status effect, however Incapacitated should remain as it is now imo.
