Bets on the anti-camp mechanic. Pick yours.
The PTB is in less than 24 hours. I can imagine 5 outcomes with the anti-camp mechanic. I'm hoping for "1" but I fully expect it will be "4":
- It will be perfect. Only hard campers will be punished with a self-unhook in about a minute.
- It will not work. Killers will be able to exploit it and make it useless.
- It will be bad. Going back to the hook to punish gen-before-friends will not work anymore.
- It will be awful. Survivors will self-unhook while killer is being looped around them by another survivor.
- If will be a nightmare. Survivors will be able to exploit it and make hooking pointless.
What about you? Which anti-camp do you expect will be in the PTB? (Please pick a number even if you want to elaborate.)
edit: If I'm wrong and the anti-camp PTB is for later, it changes nothing about the choices. Only about when we'll get the results.

6. It will be a great start. Maybe needed tuning later, but devs focusing on a huge mechanic problem, although all bad killer players will be whining for days, but F them, frankly. Good players won't notice, game could be more enjoyable and healthy. Next stop: tunneling.

Survivors are going to Gen rush even more

Well looking at PTB CoH and Basekit BT, i´d say its going to be somewhere between 4 and 5.

I thought they said the PTB for anti-camp is later this year?

Quite the conondrum.
There is a Polls section in the forum, but if you create a new poll and post it in Polls, no one will see it.
If you want people to see and vote, you're stuck here in General Discussions making a manual poll and manually tallying the comments 🤷♂️

I'm going to predict 1. It will be perfect. Only hard campers will be punished with a self-unhook in about a minute.
BUT, survivors will still be unhappy with what comes after the camping and the self-unhooking: the tunneling and going right back on the hook anyway; especially with certain killers.
Even if survivors complain, tunneling is unrelated to the anti-camp mechanic; the changes will go live; killers will realize they had nothing to fear and changes nothing for them; and survivors will realize that it doesn't matter if killer wants them dead and is adamant about it (but at least they can squeeze in 1 or 2 more chases after self-unhooking)

I fully suspect it'll have problems on the PTB, but based on what we know and historical precedent for similarly big-step mechanics recently, I have decent faith it'll be smoothed out to something resembling your first option there for Live.
Side note, is the anti-camp measure in this PTB? I forget if they said when it'll be tested.

Exploited by survivors in some way but counted by killers who play like an #########. Hard tunnel even more basically. The more we go towards this playstyle as being the only option to counter the worse the game gets. Survivors already exploit a killers niceness by using basekit bt as a bodyblock when the killer decides not to tunnel. Killers just say f It go full tunnel mode next match.

First I very much hope this idiocy is not in this PBT but in a future one. If it is already there, I hope it gets tested A LOT, that the feedback is really listened to (which I don't believe in) and it gets revised
A "mini" deliverance basekit that can be, and will surely be, abused in the worst ways and will punish anyone, even those who don't do face camp

For its initial testing in the PTB, we can expect it to be flawed. As I understand it, it will work based on proximity and duration. It will definitely have issues on multi-floor maps like Gideon and Midwich, but that's something they're going to be keeping an eye on and making sure that it doesn't unfairly punish the killer.

Is it not whiny bad survivor players that are getting this put in the game in the the first place?

I fully agree on the face camp changes. I proxy camp that's part of the game. I don't try to tunnel but it's not my fault I run right into the survivor trying to do the same gen they got hooked nere or try to heal right nere that hook. Sounds like a skill issue.

Well, I can play stupid too.
"You know, the one where killer get easy wins without lifting a finger on weak and common teams, but completely destroyed by strong ones. The one where instead of playing, he stand and sniff crotch of one hooked survivor, or mindlessly chase one survivor when everyone else just sitting and holding M1 uninterruped (bloody genrushers). The ones that devs were trying to bandaid for so long and now finally risked to do something more substantial. The one that destroy the game. Ever heard of it?"

Learning from the best, dear teacher.
BHVR calls it strategy and trying to fix that "strategy" with bandaids, and now decided to make more serious move against this "strategy".

It's crazy how BHVR takes years and years to implement changes and yet they somehow still feel like knee-jerk reactions.

Lol it's PTB. No one does gens in PTB, it's to play around with and test the new stuff to give feedback.
