When playing killer, I end chases probably 20-30 seconds on average. At most a minute if they burn through pallets.

    30 seconds...

Less then 30 means the Killer is better

Longer then 30 means the Survivor is better

But then again mistakes will add or take away from it

That's not really a question with a simple answer. Killer power and map layout is a huge factor. You also have to factor in the situation. It might be late game with few map resources left. It might be early game with all the resources available.

Chase location is a huge factor too. This is one of the highest skill caps on survivor and pub survivors are typically completely ignorant of it. Chase location>chase length, and that goes for almost any situation. Where you go down is more important than how long it took you to go down as long as you aren't going down instantly of course. A 30-45 second chase next to a hook or a critical gen is a terrible play by the survivor. Holding W to create necessary space and going down in 20 seconds is a good play. Sometimes you just have to truck it to a corner or hop in a locker to force an extended grab animation and prevent a slug. Imagine if more survivors played with a brain and used lockers against Oni to force him out of his power when everyone is grouped together for no reason.

This is a long way of saying: it depends. Chase is just one skill of many. One side can be better in chase than the other side and still get stomped because they don't play smart. Pub juker survivors are often the easiest 4ks. And a killer can try to be smart, but you can't rely on one survivor being weak in chase all the time (just 99% of the time *cries in solo queue*).

It really depends on what value that chase provides.

If the chase is to get someone out of the game, generally, anywhere from 45-60 seconds is acceptable. Getting one person out of the match practically guarantees a 2K.

If it's the first chase, I'd say those times are also acceptable, but only if you are getting resources out of the way.

Anything longer than 30 seconds loses you the game, so that's the limit.
