Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I have learned why Killer is so frustrating and unfun to play for me.

I was wondering why I went from having fun every game as killer to absolute misery, struggling to get even 1 kill and seeing gens fly by at the speed of light, finally winning first chase only to see that somehow someone with a Flashlight was tailing the whole time which means somehow 2 gens popped before I won that first chase with half their team doing something else. MMR is the sole culprit. At high MMR, Survivors are basically unbeatable unless you're extremely good at the game and have thousands of hours. Maps like Autoheaven Wreckers and Garden of Joy are genuinely unwinnable as Killer unless you play someone like Nurse or Blight. Pallets are EVERYWHERE, loops are plentiful and right next to each other, gens are in good spots, and hooks are often in weird positions.

I think I'm just going to join the majority and play Survivor from now on. Playing Killer at high MMR is so frustrating and unfun because I actively have to super try hard if I want even a single kill. Whereas with Survivor, half the time I can just sit on gens all game and win without even seeing the killer but 1 or 2 times because of how strong Survivor perks and tools are. It's so much more fun and less stressful playing Survivor, even with a No Mither build that I've been using, it's STILL more fun even when I'm against a Nurse or a Spirit because who cares if I go down once? 2 gens are done in the 2 minutes it took you to catch me, and now 2 more are halfway done. It's unreal when I started playing Survivor at just how much more fun it really is, and how much less frustrating it is.

Removing MMR would make the Killer experience so much better. Having a mix of maybe 1 lower skill, 2 decent, and 1 really good Survivor is infinitely more enjoyable than having 3 low skill and 1 decent or 2 decent and 2 high skill. Playing against 4 good Survivors the game is actually just over and you're not going to get a kill or have fun unless you're playing to a super high skill level. You might get 3-5 hooks but that's going to be it, and getting those hooks is going to be a constant struggle.

TLDR: MMR sucks and it makes playing Killer miserable at higher ranks, and too easy at lower ranks.

Trust me playing surv is same same. I'm not even at 2k hours, i played most of ty playtime in 2017-2019, yet i get constantly matched against people with 5-10K hours playtime and guess what, the matches are absolutely miserable. Often paired with randoms that have even less playtime than me, making me wonder what even the intention of the MM is, its very clear the killer will win even before the match started.

I think a big part is the constant lobby dodging from killers when they see survivor prestige, because lobby fill up is always worse matchmaking than the initial pairing. Plus the fact that MMR Cap is so low that no matter how much you win, you'll still be matched against medium players just make the whole matchmaking a really bad experience as long as you are not one of "the best" that farm everyone while not climbing MMR due to the super low cap.

Well yeah. Mmr was the worst idea bhvr ever implemented but they dug too deep on it. They won't admit hey were wrong even though they would have to be blind not to see they were. So until they grow up enough to admit to a mistake it's here to stay.
