To be honest, with how much aura reading killers are running, Residual Manifest is like the only perk that can counter it directly. It just needs to be a tiny bit stronger.
Overzealous got buffed a bit actually.

No it really doesn't. Survivors shouldn't have the ability to remove a killers aura reads completely. That perk is a stupid design and I encourage killers everywhere to tunnel and camp anyone they see using it.

It's not completely, it only lasts 30 seconds. And it should be in game, if you hate it just bring Lightborne. Even more aura reading for you.
The only counters to aura reading atm are Distortion and Boon: Shadow Step, while killers have a bunch of aura denying perks like Fearmonger,Knockout, Hex: The Third Seal, Septic Touch and a bunch of add-ons to cause blindness.
Residual is the only perk that denies the killer auras, it should be useful.

Distortion the appropriate response to aura reads. A personal response that removes your aura from the killer. You get tokens back by being near the killer. A good perk. Rm is a ridiculous middle finger to the killer that removes all auras including gens and hooks. Again it is utterly ridiculous that a survivor has that kind of power.

Gens are visible from a distance. Survivors find gens all the time without have to see their aura. 30 seconds is nothing, because you're probably in chase anyway and Residual Manifest runs out.
The situation of downing someone while the killer has Blindness and having to hook them is very small. Plus most killers can already guess where a hook might be due to experience. Boil over also doesn't show the aura of the nearest hook and killers hook just fine.
For killers running aura reading this is an ok-ish perk. Survivors should have something and this is the only thing that exists.
