MMR is very bad as of now
I know this is one example and that this doesn’t justify my opinion, but it’s something I really wanted to share. I was playing survivor, and got matched against a Wesker. I did a couple of gens, but my whole team ended up dying (except this one ash who was given the hatch). I said gg and moved on. Idk if this is how mmr works, but I thought if you die in a match, your mmr decreases, pitting you against lower players. So there I was, hopeful that maybe I could win this one, and then the game places me with a p100 Artist. Not a single gen done, everyone died. So that makes me wonder, is mmr really a thing anymore? Like I said, I know it’s just one example and it doesn’t mean anything, but I really think mmr needs a rework, for both killers and survivors.

Matchmaking is very weird this week. Had a game against a clearly new Spirit that could barely hit a single phase and then immediately after a 6.8k hour Russian Nurse player who got all of us without a single gen popping.

Anniversary time is usually when the older players come back and they're usually not playing enough for their MMR to be all that high. While your MMR does go down with losses it isn't by very much and the match making range is usually expanded by default so you just get matched with whoever the game can grab

MMR has always been a bruh moment. It's just functionally flawed. It's designed to do two things: Indicate your skill level, and match you with players of a similar rating. It does neither with even a semblance of accuracy.
