Why is console treated differently?
The amount of killers that are borderline unusable on console is a joke and I don't understand why we let this slide.
- Huntress
- Trickster
- Hillbilly
- Oni
- Nurse
- Deathslinger
- Wesker (though not the worst offender on this list)
- Nemesis (though again, not the worst offender)
Every single one of their powers have something in common, and that's that controller is locked behind sensitivity and as such, console players don't get to experience these killers in the same way that pc users do.
I don't understand why we're missing out just because of the system we choose to play on. We're paying for the chapters just as pc users are and aren't getting the full benefit

Mate if anyone could fix the parity between mouse movement and a thumbstick without gimping the mouse movement they'd be bajillionaires
8 -
Right, but both Xbox and PS allow mouse and keyboard to be used, but it's up to Devs to enable it so the option is there

I am totally using this wonderful new term "bajillionaires" 😎😁

It comes with the territory I’m afraid. It’s why pc survivors are more annoying than console. They can break their ankles every turn with esse while console survivors need to master geometry and learn about the curvature of the human thumb.
Personally I was given amazing advice on YouTube about those killers. “If the survivor is dodging and weaving just wait for them to weave in front of you. It becomes a 50/50 hit instead of a 10/50 hit”

You must be joking if you think Hillbilly is unusable on Console?
Coming from a former Console player, my main Killer on there was Hillbilly, because your joysticks allowed for consistent turning that made curving easy. In fact, I would argue it is easier than Keyboard and Mouse since you have to swap from Mouse to Q/E to curve which sometimes doesnt end well.
My only gripe was that you needed 100% sensitivity to turn at the maximum amount of degrees at the start of a Chainsaw Sprint, but it's not necessarily needed since 80% sensitivity still lets you flick your camera where you need.
I think the issue with Billy entirely has to do with his power. It's clunky, so most people opt into others Killers. Nobody actually takes the time to learn Billy and they would much rather complain about his issues instead of actually trying to learn them.

Seriously did you put the Oni and not the Blight?
The Huntress and the Trickster can be used without problems, just have a little aim. Maybe with the Huntress you won't be able to snipe from one side of the map to the other with BBQ, but the Huntress is still strong even with the pad
Before they killed him, I was Main Billy. I made people quit every game, sometimes they quit just seeing how much I went around with the chainsaw without ever turning it off. Now the Billy disgusts me, but it's still easily usable
For the Nurse use the add on which allows you to see the distance of the blinks. Also, the Nurse requires a lot of practice to be used efficiently with the pad, but once you get the hang of it, she becomes easy too
The Deathslinger, bro, I use him without problems, and I have a bad aim in all games, yet with the Deathslinger I manage to make some good hits. You just have to get the hang of it
Wesker and Nemesis I don't understand what you mean. I use them without problems, they are among my mains, and I win without too many problems. They are quite difficult killers to use, you can't expect to win all the games right away (but in general, on dbd you have to get used to killers a lot before you can win, and even when you use them well you struggle if you catch efficient people)

Forgot to add Blight!

As a console player about the only two I think need slight tweaks are Trickster and Pinhead.
The constant recoil of throwing knives is very hard to control to the point survivors can stand still and you'll miss a bunch as you're trying to line up.
Pinhead has a similar issue when going for long chain hits. Close hits are fine but going for any kind of distance feels borderline impossible but granted, I have not played him very much so that could just be inexperience.
Every other killer requires a bit more effort then PC to get a handle on but they are plenty playable and can still destroy most groups if you put in the time. I've seen plenty of console Nurses, Huntresses and what not that I'd swear were PC if not for the endscreen and seeing they were on the same platform.
Heck, when I was playing crossplay off for a while, there was a couple perkless Nurse and Huntress players I saw multiple times that were stupidly good. Not quite as good as some PC ones I've since seen but damn well close.

How long were queue times for you when you switched off crossplay? I've been considering turning mine off but I don't wanna wait 15 minutes on a game

Haven't done it recently, been around half a year but they were only a couple minutes if that during the afternoon. At late night early morning they would waver around 5 minutes or so. Not too bad IMO. In fact, give me a couple minutes and I'll turn it off and check.
Edit: Queue times have gotten much much worse from what they were. 10+ Minutes for each role. Would not recommend turning it off.

It’s not even this. They don’t even have basic controller settings such as controller deadzones and bindings that aren’t tied to multiple actions. The majority of the playerbase plays on console I don’t understand why they wouldn’t put more time into increasing the quality of life for those players.

Huntress yes, Trickster no. Trickster has been unplayable since release due to his random horizontal recoil.
Deathslinger can't really flick, so that takes away a significant portion of his power.
Wesker can't flick or do many (if any) of his techs. Nemesis also can't flick and the Tentacle is difficult to use on console.

But isn't a controller better for the 360 loop? So at least survivors can play better on console.

Negative, because the camera flick is so limited. I play on switch fyi. I have not yet managed to 360

Ehhh the only killer I would say counts is trickster the recoil makes him borderline unplayable with a controller

Thank you so much for taking the time to check that out for me, that was so kind of you. I really appreciate that ❤️

No problem. ^_^

Trickster... you're right, I don't use it much since I don't like him. I forgot about the recoil, my bad.
(For Deathslinger and Wesker flick) I think it's just a matter of habit, I was born with the pad in my hand and I find it much better to play with the pad than with the keyboard.
Wesker's techs are much more difficult, I've seen people who can also do them with the pad. Probably being on next gen consoles helps. I personally am learning to do the techs with Wesker, because I still have to figure out how to do them, but I doubt that they are difficult to the point of being impossible. I repeat, in my opinion it's just a matter of habit, maybe I'm wrong, but training is enough for me.
Nemesis tentacle is weird. Sometimes I hit the survivors while withdrawing it, or when I've already hit the ground, I move for a moment and hit them. I've never understood this logic, if that's what you mean by "flick", well I do it often and I didn't even know this stuff had a name (just as I didn't know that Wesker's "techs" had a name too)
