Let's Declare War on Totems
A user by the name of ::. Ak.21 made a guide that seems to reliably help us locate where the "first" or only hex a killer is using will spawn. If we break these Ruins fast enough, maybe folks will finally get tired of running it?

Honestly the first thing I looked at was the gas heaven map to see if he was able to mark the correct area.
I was right, he marked the correct area. I don't know about the other maps but Hex totems, in my experience, have always spawned at that exact same location. Either in front of that rock or inside the jungle gym.
I wonder if all of this is true and not coincidence.
Edit; the same can be said for wreckers yard too, always the same spot.

That's the weird part. On "The Game" and "Lery's Memorial Institute" totem spawns are actually random. But on most other maps there's a pattern for some reason.

Two things are possible:
- There's no pattern, and it's just our human tendency to see patterns where there are none.
- There is a pattern because whatever randomization function is used is taking into account variables that are actually more or less constant at the time they're being taken into account.
We can rule out the first one in KYF, but it'd require at least two people (or one person with two copies of the game) with enough patience to test it some 100 times per map (i.e.: over a thousand times).

Get tired of running totems because they get broken way too fast? Don't you think that instead Killers will want the totem part of the perk taken out instead since it would be more useful? Your direction of thinking is very strange and selfish.

I apologize if my statement above was poorly worded. I just want the community to actively help us uncover if the totem spawns are this predictable. If there is a pattern for finding say, HEX: Ruin the community should then talk to BHVR about resolving the issue. The title and initial post were worded with "strange and selfish" diction deliberately to rally survivors to work together against a common threat (Ruin). I play both sides and have worked my way through many Ruins. However, I'd like to see the perk last longer than a minute in the future.

I think DbD has some work to do with improving the games logic when it comes to totem placement.
I'm not really in the camp that find ruin OP, it's actually quite fun to face so I can get better at skillchecks! The perk is also quite needed when the game is balanced around fairly quick games.

Preach.
This happens a ton when I play survivor and is why I've stopped wasting the perk slot on my Killers. The "recent" totem spawn fix where they claimed totems are going to be hidden better seems to have made some situations worst. I play PS4 and had a totem sitting in the open (on that same map shown above) not pushed up against anything. It was literally visible from the other side of the map. It was also Hex: Haunted Grounds so maybe it was just to troll us haha.

Can you please tell me what the audio cue for small game sounds like, For some reason I can't notice it. Is it a familiar sound to something else in the game or a unique sound?

I hope op didnt think sharing this was gonna be a plus for survivors, beause now you are gonna force the devs to help the killers out some more. Best farm bp and piss off killers as much as possible before this changes. Which it will before they optimize the game properly.
