This team, on cornfield, while I'm learning Slinger and listening to Texas Hippie Coalition. Sometimes you've already lost and don't even know it until the end. Got like 3 hooks total.

What are you supposed to against something like as Slinger? That's an honest question because chases took forever and they out ran my dang spear. By endgame I was just like "Yep, they got it, I'm gonna go break palettes"

This isn't a shame post I'm just genuinely confused as to how you play Slinger when everyone is far faster than you in basically every chase and you don't have the ability to attempt a quick scope.

Well if you are playing against better players than you, yes you should lose. There is nothing wrong with that.

And they were not faster than you. Even at end game with Hope. You were still faster.

But... Like you said, you are new Slinger. Why matchmaking did not work and you played against strong team? Matchmaking issues i think.

Btw, you should remove this screenshot. Name shaming is against rules. Just censor their names before share any screenshot.

Some games are not meant to be won. This was likely one of them.

They were considerably faster than me considering they were running Sprint Burst so they were already half way to New Zealand before I could level the Redeemer and I'm not shaming them. The game was fun overall, I just wanted to get some advice from folks who have more time on Slinger. I don't care about losing as I'm just in for the bloodpoints, but I do like learning a new killer during Anniversary since I can get through bloodwebs faster.

Sidenote: Had a Wesker game on Haddonfield where I dumpstered a team. God dang he's so fun to play, like there is no stress with Wesker. You can tell what you're doing wrong and you can feel what you're doing right. Power's satisfying and generally just useful at every stage of the game. Get to throw survivors in the street and say a one-liner.

Not too much. Deathslinger just has too many mechanical hindrances to deal with survivors like that if their skill is on the same level as yours. It's unfortunate but, for many Killers in DbD, you can lose at the character selection screen if you get equally skilled opponents.

If you're playing with an unfamiliar killer then it'll take getting used to and losses will happen. Personally i think your mistake is wearing the green hat, bad camouflage 😝 also sidenote love the surv whining about lightborn. See 2 torches on the loadout screen? Lightborn is a no brainer. "No need" for lightborn lol, 2 purples with both bulbs? Very need

Was this on Rotten Fields? Because that map is just horrible for many killers, Deathslinger included. It should be in the rework queue next to Cowshed but for some reason, it isn't.

I pretty much main slinger and almost exclusively run lethal pursuer with another 2 tracking perks and usually something like hex plaything or fearmonger. He definitely takes some practice to land your shots consistently and I would consider him to be a killer that you need to play quite frequently to maintain your fast twitch shots. It's kinda similar to playing a game like COD then you leave it for a month and you feel really sloppy and aren't hitting the shots as consistently anymore.

You also really need to play him in a style that is constantly forcing pressure from downs, injuries and hooks which is why I run lethal pursuer a lot because it basically gives you very nice pressure from the get go.

Once you get good with him and start landing those max range shots consistently then he's one of the most satisfying and fun killers in the game for me personally.

This was probably a 3-member SWF. Notice the similarities in skills and how the 4th person doesn't belong there.

I wouldn't worry - you are still learning and Slinger is not an easy killer to learn. Also, Lightborn is a must and it's funny reading the comments when they came with equipped flashlights.

No offense but just by looking at your perks of choice it's easy to tell that Slinger wasn't the issue here.

The perks are fine for what I want to do which is minimize my TR, know when they're healing, and disregard flashlight. I don't really see the point of running gen slowdown and honestly it wasn't needed. I just couldn't effectively handle a team of pre-runners using a killer I just started learning a few days ago.

I agree that I'd change up the perks a bit. I'd drop M&A as you don't get much value out of it on large TR killers like Slinger. Something like Tinkerer or Pyramidhead's perk would serve you better. Fearmonger will also help counter SB. STBFL is pretty huge for him. Green reload speed addon with either the green miss recovery or prison chain is a solid combo. Aside from that, put in a lot of time to practice your shots and learn what loops you can shoot across to get to a survivor and where you can take those shots.

Sometimes the best answer is to not shoot I bet the spirit burst was what's killing you if you figured out who has sb just quick aim and then stop and close some distance the. Shoot them

for hope It's just practice of hitting difficult shots and I'd drop light born for some gen defense can't learn if the game lasts 3 min

Seeing the perks some of the people on this forum use... I can definitely see why a lot of you think playing killer is hard. Builds like this won't cut it against good survivors.

Honestly I'd keep m&A his power has a max range of 16m cutting that 8m means they start running at 24m instead of 32 decreasing their odds of making it to a safe tile that Slinger can't use his power

It doesn't always work, but when it does it works real well. Doesn't fair well on Rotten Fields though.

I would focus on getting better with him. Slinger has some weaknesses no doubt but chase is not one of them (yes even after his nerf). I do quite well with Slinger honestly always have even on Xbox. Just keep practicing and everything will fall into place.

If you could win games with killers you don't have mastered, without regression to boot....game would be lame asf.

This isn't naming and shaming though, they are simply asking for advice on how to deal with these types of survivors. No shaming involved there.
