Tome Challenges leading to bad behavior

If I load into a lobby and a teammate is holding either a key or a map, I'm dodging. I've really had it with Survivors ignoring regular gameplay to try and accomplish those stupid challenges of escaping through the hatch with a map and unlocking the hatch with a key. Every single time they let you die and don't touch gens. I have Kindred so I see them hiding. Then they always have a hatch build on. Really getting sick of it.

Blame the devs for making challenges that you can't do by playing the game normally, or really the game design. The reality is the way the game works is, if you aren't on a gen, saving another survivor, or healing when you aren't being chased you are wasting time. It really doesn't leave much room to have interesting challenges.

Frustrating. But hard to know if they are doing an archive. I've been running keys lately because the bloodweb gives me a lot of Blood Ambers and Wedding Rings.

They should rework hatch challenges ever since the way they changed the hatch people throw the game more for them

I wish the related challenges got removed. I need a key escape twice which blocks two survivor-related challenges I'd love to complete. But the chance for the hatch scenario I need (wait for it to be closed then open with a key) is low and I don't have that many spare keys to try it. I'd rather be useful to the team by taking other items with me.

I Remember when hatch only opened if one gen was left.

I haven't seen that so I don't think it's that frequent of an occurrence or a big problem. Honestly.

The issue is that a lot of survivor challenges require you to play in a selfish, very suboptimal way to complete them, whereas most killer challenges you do just by playing normally.

That's very nice of you and also the way I'm going. Unfortunately, many don't do that. Some just don't have the playing time to master their quests in the normal way and somehow I can't blame them either.

I wish "escape through the hatch" challenges would be replaced by "be the last survivor to escape the trial", that way hatch still counts but survivors don't immediately think that the best course of action is to wait for everyone to die.

I mean the killer challenges can be completed through normal gameplay. Maybe survivor challenges cause survivors to basically throw the game so that killers get some passive slowdown?
